The first prompt I chose to write about is number three. Choose an interesting character from your book. Think of what he or she likes; then think of a gift you would like to give him/her Write a description of the present you would give him/her and why you think the character would like it. The character from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix I would choose to give a gift to would be Luna Lovegood. To start off with, I chose her because she is a quirky character with not very many friends. Many people don’t know what to think of her and usually assume that she's crazy. This is shown in the quote, “The girl gave off an aura of distinct dottiness. Perhaps it was the fact that she had stuck her wand behind her left ear for safekeeping, …show more content…
Did this section remind you of anything that has happened to you? What? Why? Did this section give you any new ideas about yourself? Why? A section in the book that reminded me of something that happened to me is when Harry is left alone on the Hogwarts Express. “‘Shall we go and find a compartment, then?’ Harry asked Ron and Hermione. Ron and Hermione exchanged looks. ‘Er,’ said Ron. ‘We’re — well — Ron and I are supposed to go into the prefect carriage,’ Hermione said awkwardly… ‘Oh,’ said Harry. ‘Right. Fine,’” (Rowling, 184). I chose this event because it reminded me of when I too was left alone on the ride to somewhere. It happened on the ride to the state volleyball tournament this year. I planned to go with Bailey and she wanted to ride with Nick S, Branzon, Jake, and Derick. I agreed figuring we’d at least sit by each other since that what happened the last time we went somewhere with them. I would've been fine sitting by anyone till I learned that Nick G and Kaitlyn were also coming with us and I do not like them very much. Therefore, I knew there wouldn't be much conversation as they weren't really friends with any of us. I wanted to sit by Bailey because I knew I could talk to her quietly without making anything awkward but she had other
She is very brave, caring and protective. She has risked her life for others. She has been brave and shown it by rescuing Otto from rebel soldiers. She had a very high chance of dying trying to save him. “ the teenager wrapped his arms around him and carried him inside the restaurant door, Otto lolling in his hands...I had to act now...
Another reason why she is the ultimate best character in literature is because she was a hero. She rescued her step-sister, Heather, from Helen, who is the ghost. She also rescued her mother
Jon Osterman, better known as Dr. Manhattan, is the key element to any belief made in relation to the good and bad of atomic and nuclear energy and predestined fate. Some may view the atomic energy that led Dr. Manhattan into “becoming” Dr. Manhatten a godsend from himself, seeing as he is deemed a god by any who give him the benefit of positivity. Those who are against him, fear his abilities and cower in what his power could do- while even soldiers of the oposing side who would have fought a a lengthy and tedious battle drop to their knees and pray to him as though he could hear their prayers.
I don't really have a reason why she is my favorite character, but ever since the 4th grade when I first read this book there was ,just something about Mae that made me wants to know more about this
She is a relatable character struggles with misogyny Ismene, Creon, and the government doubts her
Upon boarding the ship my wife and children were separated from me. I did not know where they were or what they where going through for the duration of the ride. Nor did I know if they would be alive at the end of the trip. You see, we were among a slave ship. A ship with a crew that was so brutal, treating us in such cruel ways. I had never witnesses such brutality and neglect in my entire life.
The prompt I choose was prompt B in Prompt B it talks about how your going through a narrow tunnel and a man fell in front of you on the road, you have two choices one is to go straight and kill the man who fell on the road or you can swerve into oncoming traffic and hit a school bus and kill five children. Now you have no brakes so you can’t stop your car so you have to make a choice out of the two kill the worker or five beautiful innocent children the choice is yours. If I were the driver and had to make a choice I will choose to kill the worker who fell in front of me instead of the bus killing five children because if the worker fell from a high place onto the road he will eventually die because the compact to his body and head as he fell, unlike the children who were on the bus that didn’t do anything wrong and was out of the cars why they don’t deserve to die,For example In the video the right thing to do is a “girl said it isn't right to kill five when you can only kill one.
The story never informs the reader if they then stay in the dining car for the rest of the trip or return to the parlor car for this reason I will assume that they have remained seated in the dining car until the porter, a stock character used only for further detail in the proceedings leading up to getting off the train, is introduced. Soon after the porter enters the train reaches Yellow Sky and Potter sees the station-agent outside with a ?slightly hurried and anxious air ,? (246) this should hint to Potter that something is not right in his little town, but he is too concerned with his ?betrayal? to his town.
When we were still friends she was really mean to one of my future best friends, let's call her Karen. At the time me and Karen weren't friends. Tammy would talk about Karen behind her back, because of how she acted, who she was friends with and even for her weight. Me being who I was at the time, didn’t find anything wrong with this. Until one day she started being mean to me, calling me mean names, not talking to me for no reason. It was then, that I started seeing her as the person she really was. While this was happening I started to become good friends with Karen. Me and Karen would do group projects together and text each other a lot. Then about several weeks after this Tammy wanted to be friends again. Seeing this thru a new perspective and how she treated Karen, I said
The sun was warm and it was a crisp glorious day. I was headed to Winchester Kentucky for the 2016 PBR finals. I invited two of my friends to come along with me. Liz and I always go to rodeos together so we were dying to see the finals. We always competieted in barrel racing events in our hometown. She and I always practice together late at night when the crowds are gone. We always wore kick boot jeans and cowgirl hats. On the other hand Britt didn't have a passion for rodeos. She was more of a city girl. Always wore dresses and skirts abut never jeans. That's why I was surprised she wanted to come along. We dressed up in our favorite cowgirl hats and leather boots. On our way to Winchester we noticed some odd stuff happening on the roads.
My favorite part of the book was the warning signs to know when a stranger is a potential threat. This was fascinating to me because I’ve been told since I was just a little boy to beware of strangers. But with all these warnings about strangers I had never been told how to recognize when a
boldness, bravery and , unyielding morals are all extremely important to her role in the play.
