Considering my observation, APCH is a solid organization, which has demonstrated it in their website, and provided a good amount of information about the founder, their accomplishments, history, the mission, board of directors, partners, values, leadership council, and their fiscal responsibility information (APCH, about, 2016). Although the Western States Affiliate's (WSA's) organizational model successfully increased fundraising revenue for the American Heart Association (AHA), the task force's initiative to adopt this structure and strategy at a national level indicates a lack of understanding of the AHA's overall vision and business strategy. If the AHA wishes to achieve even greater success while continuing to maintain its long-standing strategy of raising funds for research and community education, it should focus on developing a hybrid organizational structure, improving operational efficiency and strengthening its community participation.

Though they are not entirely comprehensive tools, a great deal can be learned about a hospital or other healthcare organization for-profit or not-for-profit from an examination of their annual financial documents (Finkler & Ward, 2006). The balance sheet and statement of revenue and expense can both yield valuable clues even in the absence of other evidence about changes that might be occurring in the organization, a definition of the type and degree of certain problems that it might be facing, and potential opportunities for improvement in performance that might exist (Finkler & Ward, 2006). Comparing two or more years' worth of financial information yields even more valuable insights, tracking movement in the hospital or other organization's ability to finance its activities and thus continue providing services at the same level, quantity, and scope as current operation.
Standing at the helm of college sports is the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), a non-profit organization that regulates college athletic programs to ensure the safety and well-being of student-athletes (Ferrell, Fraedrich, & Ferrell, 2015). Founded in 1906, the NCAA has grown to be one of the largest tax-exempt organization in the U.S., generating more than $800 million dollars each year (Treadway, 2013).
