The way individuals behave on the outside may differ from what they truly feel on the inside. Some feel the need to change to fit in while others claim to be something they are not. Regardless of which way one considers it, while attempting to act like someone they really cannot be, reality will eventually show up at last. Appearance versus reality was precisely what happened in the Tragedy of Macbeth. Macbeth speaks with the three witches that project images and as time passes the realities soon emerge. One of the first images shown is an armored head. When the first apparition appears it warns Macbeth “beware Macduff. Beware the Thane of Fife” (Macbeth Act 4, Scene 1).
