Active listening is a method for tuning in and reacting to someone else that enhances common comprehension. For the most part, when two individuals converse with each other, the listening individual does not focus on what is being said. They can become noticeably absent minded. At the point when individuals are occupied with a contention, they are frequently bustling figuring a reaction to what is being said. They accept that they have heard what their rival is stating ordinarily some time recently, so instead of focusing, they concentrate on how they can react to win the argument.

After completing the reading for the chapter on listening I found it interesting on how there are many aspects and different kinds of listening that I had not known of prior to reading the chapter. One part of the chapter that I found to be intriguing was the part on the different kinds of listening styles. When we listen to people speak we are able to use different styles depending on the conversation. For example, when we use relational listening we try to relate to how the others are feeling. Recently I have used relational listening in the wake of the MSD shooting. Being that my sister currently attends the school and I graduated from the school in 2014, I had spoken to many of my friends and current students that were affected by this

I plan to administer this assessment for my computer class through a recording like the ones I had made on Jing for you to listen to. I realize that the recordings are confusing because the window is so small, but I will have made the recordings and audio file rather than a video/Jing file like I did for this assignment.
I was sitting there as a 15 year old girl in an auditorium that was scared just because I was away from home for more then one night. Even though I was at church camp I was terrified, I was terrified that people would find out of past mistakes and doubt that I had. At this point in my spiritual journey I had many doubts in if God actually cared about me after I had messed up that many times. The first day I listened to men speak all day about how being catholic is a gift in itself and how with God everything else will fall in place. At this time in my life this all felt like a lie because I had tried praying and nothing was getting better. It wasn’t until the first women of the day got up on stage that I actually could listen and connect with the
As our reading discusses, we have several decisions to make when listening, such as when we will actively listen, what we will actively listen to, and how we respond to what we choose to listen to (7.5). It is often difficult to listen to someone who has a view that differs from our own, but I believe that it is just as important to actively listen to those who have opposing views. When listening to someone with an opposing view, we must listen with patience and use it to our advantage rather than allowing ourselves to get frustrated by it. There is so much to learn through the words of others and instead of fighting it, I believe we should find a way to interpret it to fit our own understanding. Every view has an opposing view, no matter how
In this unit I have learned that listening to others when they are speaking is very important, and that you need to listen to them when they talk. Also, when you listen to them, that means that they will want to listen to you.

The direct purpose of this memo is to assess my listening abilities, and to describe my ideas of which to enhance them. After taking the listening assessment, I scored a 30-39%, indicating my need of improvement. Based off this score I identified my strengths to be listening carefully, asking questions, and empathizing with the speaker. My weaknesses are that I am easily distracted by both external and internal noise, and I have a difficult time keeping eye contact. My intentions are to explain my strategy to improve my skills given the information received from my assessment.

Whether an individual is blind, deaf, or contain all of the five senses, every individual is capable of listening. While a deaf person may not be able to physically perceive noise from their ears and turn the noises into thoughtful consideration, or a blind individual not being able to see body gestures and facial cues, everyone is able to be great listeners who can interpret, analyze, and give thoughtful feedback to others.
Music is notorious for enthralling the brain, each genre responsible for provoking a unique brain response. Frequently, teenagers and the like, attempt to make a situation more tolerable by listening to their preferred song choices. It is to their disdain that simultaneously completing a task and listening to music may drastically negate from their performance rather than benefit it. These varied outcomes are correlated to the certain music genre adhered to the scenario. Music genres such as jazz, rock, and classical or ambient all exude effects upon the brain.
