The lands of Crohin were abundant with life, farmers grew crops to feed villages, and hunters took home enough food to feed even the largest of families. Life across the lands was bliss, nothing ever went wrong, no natural disasters, no crime was committed. The people of Crohin felt blessed that the Heavens had provided them with such a beautiful place to exist. To thank the Gods, every last Sunday of the month they would throw parties and dance until the morning after sunlight. But one month, a Tribe called the Arctic Bone had noticed its livestock were disappearing, and as food stock hit critical levels, the Chief called the Tribes Council members to discuss what was going to happen. They not only had next to no food stored for the winter, …show more content…
Without the livestock, Tribes could not harvest grain quick enough which made collecting and storing water a lot harder. With the grain going rapidly, and freshwater streams turning into icy roads, the Tribes' Chiefs decided to call a meeting at the Temple of Eternity. They cursed the Heavens, asking what they had done wrong to deserve all of the bad luck they were receiving. But instead of an answer, a small boy bursts through the Temple doors in blood stained, torn clothes. Shouting at the top of his voice, "Leraxahr!". The Tribes' Chiefs all returned to their respective lands, and tales began to spread like wild fire as they told the story of the strange incident with the boy. The Heavens kept quiet until the Temple of Eternity was destroyed and burned down on the last Sunday of the following month. The Gods were furious, and with it came corruption, starvation, and even death. This caused the Tribes to form together, settling into one final Tribe with members mixed from all the others with the Arctic Bone Chief as the …show more content…
We gave you a test, a test of your capability to survive without our help. We had hopes held high that you mortals would pass, but instead you disappoint us. So, instead of the Hell that you believe you are living now, we will truly open the Gates of the Underworld for you to witness its taste. We apologize for the future. But for giving up, and for not thanking us for what we did for you when you had us on your side, Hell? We'll show you Hell." With that said, the God Pidon dissappeared within a bright wisp of light. The Chief ordered everyone to stay within their settlement, for he had seen a God that had given him a warning! But nobody believed him, deeming him insane, they overthrew him as Chief and he was banished from the settlement. Everyone continued with their lives, the simple notice of an enemy rising seemed to slip their sights. Until the day that it happened. A monster from the depths below, one that no one had ever imagined to exist, tore its way through the settlement before leaving with some of the remaining humans. Those that were Hunters from a Tribe followed it, finding the bodies of their fellow survivors lifeless in the woods not far from the settlement. This was the beginning of their true
The night’s sky was a foreboding glow, displaying the remnants of the chaos that proceeded on that very night. The air was calm and still, leaving no trace of the strong, mighty wind that had once seized it. Seeker Gawin and Annabelle emerge from the Great Fall forest, heading in the direction of the marketplace of the Masonburge Village with a bewildered first commander, who was heading back to the castle, passing them with his men riding a few feet behind. The people of the village have gathered in a somber mood, watching the last of the king’s men carry away bodies on one of their horses.
The tribe was about to move to the woods for the winter. Dances with wolves had to go back to the post and get his journey he was writing everything in about him and the Indians, for if soldiers would find it, it would not be to good. He arrived back and the place was loaded with soldiers, and they shot at him like he was an Indian. He managed to survive, but he could not prove he was a Lt. In the army and was being arrested for treason.
This was caused by the belief that their gods were angered by them because of the lack of their traditional customs. When the white men saw what they did, they were afraid of whatever they did. Around the 15th of December, the U.S. army tried to arrest Sitting Bull and on the process, they killed him. When the news spread to the dancers, it strongly angered them. On December 29, the U.S. army's 7th Calvary surrounded the Dancers forcing them to surrender their weapons meanwhile, one of the tribes members got into a fight with one of the soldiers. At the next second, a shot was fired (it is unsure of which side it was shot from) and the massacre began. Smiles a lot and his father had joined the battle. Kicking Bird, Wind in his Hair and my father, Dances with Wolves, had also joined the battle later on. While that went on, Black Shawl and my mother had gone to find women and children to protect, and the same applied for my siblings and I. I and my brothers managed to get some women, our sisters and some other children out of the reservations safely behind a large hill. We camped out there all night until we were sure they were safe. All through the night, I worried for the people I loved the most still out there, so I hadn't slept through the night. Using my strength, I also was a lookout to be sure that no one would find us. The next morning, we made our way back to

The Lorax and the Once-ler fought until the very last Truffula Tree was chopped. The Once-lers family left and so did the Lorax. Just the Once-ler and his factory were left. But the Lorax left one thing, a small pile of rocks with a word carved into them, "UNLESS". So for years and years the Once-ler sat in his house on top of his factory and worried about what he had done. In his heart he felt terrible that he let his greed cause so much destruction. So one day he told his story to a boy that wandered to his house. He told the boy that the meaning of the pile of rocks that the Lorax left behind was clear to him now. Unless someone who cares a lot does something, nothing is going to get better. So he gave the boy the very last Truffula Tree seed and told him to plant it and protect it, and maybe some day there would be a forest of Truffula Trees again.
When the white canoe put in near a town or village, people hurried to see and hear this rumored ‘Man from the North’ Mother of Nations promised would come to them. Some of the women spoke about how youthful he looked to be a prophet. Warriors and boys appeared perplexed at this, but the women were shaken. When they were told Hiawatha accompanied him and would speak for him, alarm broke out.
After the prior four stages, the body then enters the final stage of decomposition. In this final stage, the body is left with very minimal skin and complete bones; also known as complete skeletonization. When the body has reach the complete skeletonization stage, weather begins to affect the bones. If the body is in hot climate weather, the bones will begin to dry up and discoloration of the outer surface of the bone. Also factors that affect the human bones in this stage are insect and animal activity. For instance, the book states that squirrels specifically show a preference on human dry bones that have exposed up to one year to the environment. Thus squirrels are one type of animal that prefer the human bones because bones can inherit soil, and other substance from the environment depending on its location(Tersigni-Tarrant, Shirley, p. 352, 2013.) But the longer human bones spend out in their location, the more changes it is bound to exhibit. For instance, bones may exhibit additional discoloration and may resemble and growth with plants if it were
Times were getting rough for the tribe. Food was coming up short, and it was getting harder and harder to hunt for food. There were limited resources during the cold, harsh winter. The tribe was starving. The men in the tribe did all the hunting while all the women made all the clothes. When the men did catch something, they got to eat first leaving little to none for the women and children, sometimes even letting them die of starvation. They had to make a decision about what they were going to
There are 206 bones of the human skeleton. Bone is a connective tissue that are considered organs. Bones are composed of collagen and a mineral called hydroxyapatite, it gives the bones its incredible strength. The bones are important structures in the body for several reasons they support, protect, produce hormones, store minerals and growth factors and allows the body to move. Homeostatic imbalance of the bone can result in diseases of the bone such as Osteitis Deformans, which causes a weak growth of development of bones.
The University of Cambridge indicates that there are two types of bone in the human body: cortical, or compact, bone and cancellous bone, which is also known as spongy or trabecular bone. Cortical bone accounts for 80 percent of the body's bone mass. This type of bone forms a cylindrical shaft around the marrow in the central part of the bone. Cancellous bone makes up only 20 percent of the body's bone mass, but it has a much higher surface area because of its higher porosity and honeycomb structure, according to the University of
The reek of death hangs in the air throughout the land. Filling the mouths of those who lived in this abandoned land was the taste of burnt garlic. The screams and cries of terror undistinguishable between beast and human fill the ears of the last ones living. The sky, which was lit by the glow of fires, is grey and empty. Decaying bodies and
When Phaethon commands the horses, to plunge down to the earth, he realizes everything is burning. Unable to keep control, the horses pull the chariot higher and higher. “Darkness came. And cold. The earth froze hard.
The previous night, he was quite sure that he had seen a spiral of smoke, rising up through the trees toward the sky but he had yet to cross anyone's path or to have anyone cross his. As he ran, sprinkling pine needles along the forest floor, he gave the trees a few good knocks, just in case anyone could actually hear him at this distance and he could get a nice head start. He quickly came upon a campsite but one look told him that there was nothing to be done, playful or otherwise, at this site. The place was destroyed, the tee-pee torn to bits and pieces, and claw marks from wolves dug deep into the Earth surrounding the camp. There was blood splattered about on the ground, leading off towards the deepest, darkest part of the forest. Knowing there was nothing to be done for the poor souls that came across the wolves path, Bohpoli turned to his pine tree and began to climb his way back to the top, only to stop short. Bohpoli stood very still, he could just barely hear the sounds of rustling fabric, a piece near to where he was standing was starting to shift around a bit, barely noticeable in the busy forest. He walked over, lifted the bit of fabric and found himself staring eye to eye with a small child, a little girl
If I could change one physical aspect of my body, what would I change? I would change my tail bone. Because it causes me pain, limit me and cannot enjoy life.
Due to the lifelong remodeling process of bone we can determine that aging makes our bones feeble and brittle. Exercising at an early age allows the human potential to reach their optimum bone density and continuing the habit of exercising regularly as they age helps maintain its composition. Physical activity also promotes improved stance, gait, posture, balance and coordination therefore this could also avert potential mishaps leading to bone fractures. On the note of prevention, tobacco cessation and reduced alcohol consumption prevents further bone loss. These substances reduce osteoblast activity causing detrimental effects, in addition it impairs calcium absorption due to the reduced blood circulation to the bones.
