Throughout the play, the witches are wicked and evil towards Macbeth. I think they attract and distract from the play. Without the witches, Macbeth would not be on this quest to kill so many people. If the witches were not present, Macbeth would never know that he could be the Thane of Cawdor, Thane of Glamis, and King of Scotland. The witches add to the play by bringing action, suspense, and intensity. The witches also distract us from the play by all the effects happening. Watching the film, especially in act 4, it was confusing with what they were saying. Sometimes the witches add too much to the plot that it gets confusing as to what if going on. I feel as though Shakespeare exaggerated the witches too much just to add dramatic effect.
In Macbeth, the witches use foreshadowing, characterization, and the characters in Macbeth use allusions. The witches play a large part in the play. They lead Macbeth to kill the king, and they lead to his demise. They are the main factor that moves the play along as well as help Macbeth use his tragic flaw of overconfidence. Macbeth believes everything that the witches tell him and he does not think for one moment that the witches might be telling him something else that would be hidden in the predictions. They were the reason that Macbeth decided to kill the king, and the reason why he was so paranoid with everyone. He killed his best friend all because the witches told him that Banquo will be father to a line of kings. Macbeth went on and
Their strange words confuse him and make him mean stuff. That proves that the Witches are the villains because they manipulated Macbeth because they were greedy and wanted more power. Quote #2 This evidence should reflect the Reason #2 in your thesis.
The witches played an undoubtedly large role in MacBeth, being the instigators of the entire plot. In act one scene three, the witches say: `all hail, MacBeth! Hail to thee, thane of cawdor! ... All hail, MacBeth, that shalt be king hereafter!' (Line 47-50) these prophecies

The witches infused that Macbeth's a tragety of character. In the beginning of the play, Macbeth, was a loyal knight who was honored by many. In the mist of this glory Macbeth met the witches. "Shall raise such artificial sprites//As by the strength of their illusion//Shall draw him on to his confusion."(Macbeth 3:5:27-29) In the play the witches represented chaos and darkness. Motivated by false hope and his wife encouragement, Macbeth began to act upon the witches prophecys. His character began to change dramatically as each prophecy came true. The witches brought out the worst in Macbeth.
The witches had influence on all of Macbeth's actions after they made a spell at the beginning of the play which was like a catalyst for his ambition and eventual downfall. Despite their limited appearances in the play, the significance of the witches power is shown throughout the entirety as they build Macbeth up to crumble as he continuously
From the very beginning of the play, the witches were shown to be vile and bloodthirsty creatures. They are responsible for being the first characters to plant the idea in Macbeth's head that he should kill Duncan and later, his friend Banquo. They do this by, at first, giving Macbeth very good news about his future, “All hail, Macbeth, thou shalt be king hereafter.” (Iiii 48) This prophecy is what starts to turn Macbeth's thoughts to murder, for how can he be king, if Duncan is in the way?
From the moment Macbeth answers the play, it appears that he is always making immoral decisions. This drives the audience to believe that Macbeth is an evil character and regrets nothing that he does throughout the play. However, Macbeth is not inherently evil; rather he is driven to make these immoral and evil decisions because of the other characters in the play, such as the witches and his wife. The first time the audience is introduced to Macbeth, it is through indirect characterization from a soldier that witnessed Macbeth fighting on the battle field.
Furthermore, the Witches are considered evil, therefore they probably already know that Macbeth will take ambitious acts in order to become King. Thus, informing him of these prophecies so that he purposely wreaks havoc amongst their country. For example, in the first act the Witches are introduced in a gloomy setting; “in thunder and lightning”, hovering around a cauldron. This portrays the darkness that the witches are comprised of. If it was not for the Witches, this play probably would have not been considered a tragedy at
Although Macbeth is the main contributor the witches and Lady Macbeth both play a significant part in this play. To start with the audience can see that the witches are very important as they are the first people on stage during this play. Straight away the audience can immediately clearly see that the witches are evil
Evil is a common theme in most literature. An almost unstoppable force that seeks out the deepest desires in people and uses their ambition against them with avidity, while destroying natural order in the process. As evil appear throughout a story, trouble is brought along with chaos and mischief that pushes the characters to follow the path set for them by these forces. In William Shakespeare's play Macbeth, evil is the driving force that leads the play forward, and the main character Macbeth to his demise. The Three Witches have a significant role that determines the advancement of the play, the mood and setting, and symbolize many important ideas that pull the moral of the play together.

The witches play an important role they have the ability to predict the future and affect it too. Without their warnings and predictions Macbeth wouldn’t have chosen to act in the way he did. In their second appearance they prophesize that that he cannot be harmed by no one born of woman, a child with a crown represents Malcolm, and he’s warned about the moving Great Birnam wood to high Dunsinane Hill. “But yet I’ll make assurance double sure, and take a bond of fate” (4.1.83-84).
In the play of Macbeth' by William Shakespeare the witches have an important effect on Macbeth, the characters, the plot, the theme and the audience. They help construct the play and without them it would have been a totally different story line. In Macbeth the witches have an evil effect on Macbeth, other characters, the plot, the theme, and the audience. They contribute to the play, and without them the plot would be greatly altered. The three witches have an evil effect on Macbeth and how he makes his actions throughout the play.
