Deborah Brandt in her composition “Remembering Writing, Remembering Reading”, explores the relationship between reading and writing as they are seen as individuals. Through a miscellaneous amount of interviews, including one of her own, Brandt uses a variety of people's memories to emphasize that reading and writing have been argued to be secluded. Yet, what Brandt predominantly discusses in her article is the importance of reading and writing. Many of her interviews included parents discussing the importance of both topics, and their thought of both topics being equally taught by the parent and teacher. Through understanding the errors, I made in Writing Assignment #3 (WA #3) I was able to edit and better understand what corrections was needed for Writing Assignment #4 (WA #4) to become a well thought out paper. Both my tutor at the writing center and my one-on-one peer reviewer mentioned that there is not enough evidence. They said that my proposition and reasons are evident; however, I do not have enough supporting details to convince readers of my argument. For the first big writing assignment in English, we were asked to interview someone and talk about their literacies. My first thought was right along the lines of “what is the point of this”. I didn’t understand how learning about how someone else established their writing and reading habits would be beneficial to me and my habits. She stated that in her future career as a nurse she will need to communicate with patients and their distressed families, and the only way to communicate efficiently is to have a solid literary base. This was the motivation and drive behind all of her reading and writing.

Imagine living in a world where you were expected to be uneducated, illiterate, and stupid.
