For my senior paper I intend on writing about the effects animal testing has on the animals themselves and the reasons behind it being illegal. Animal testing is the use of living animals for experiments and/or to perform tests testing the safety of a human product. My thesis will be along the lines of “Inhumanly treating animals with unnecessary tests for the use of human products that often lack validity, due to the different ways animals and humans react to certain chemicals and supplements, should be outlawed.” I will talk about the types of testing, the products scientist use and whether or not it is an accurate way of determining if the items used are safe for human use.
A few articles I will be using for my paper will be the pros and

Whichever get backs to me and lets me know the extent of what I will be able to do and the one that lets me get more hands on about the issue I will be continuing on with. The Humane Society project for me will be about the way the animals are treated and dealt with once they have been there for a certain amount of time or once they are getting to old. Job shadowing at Panhandle Animal Laboratory will be about what goes on for a normal day in the lab. I won’t be able to actually be inside the labs due to not being eighteen but I will still get the extent of how they handle and treat the animals and what labs they actually perform. I have contacted both for a mentor and information, but both have yet to respond.
The connection between my paper and my project is that my paper argues about the controversies of animal testing and its effects to the animals, along with, the types of tests performed and if those tests are an accurate representation whether the products are safe for human use or not. My project will either be about the way animals are treated once they are given up to the Humane society and have been there for too long or about the tests performed at the Panhandle Animal Laboratory and if those tests are safe and
Not all people seem to agree though many think animals are abused or live in danger but for the most parts testing centers tend to respect animal rights and make sure they are well taken care of . I would use this in my article and start by showing the many benefits of animal testing. In order to carry out data it is important for the researcher to make sure that they find testing centers and show how animals are getting along with each other and the way that people are treating them Animal testing is changing life for mankind and with more technology being created there will be a higher demand for animal testing who are the closest creature to humans only that way will we know how to make substances adapt to a human and benefit the human
Thesis: Animal testing is a heavy topic that usually goes unnoticed. To many scientists, animal testing is beneficial and to society it is morally wrong.
Specific Purpose – To persuade my audience that animal testing is wrong and how other safer alternatives should be taken.
Throughout my paper, I felt as though I was able to give a solid and fair representation of the opposing viewpoint on issue of animal testing. However, it was challenging because I strongly oppose animal testing.
Animal testing is an experimentation performed on animals. Scientists test on animals to assess the how safe and effective a product for humans is, this can be anything from medication, pesticides, industrial chemicals, food additives, household products, supplements, and cosmetics. Animal testing is morally wrong as it involves the torturing of innocent animals. “Right now, millions of mice, rats, rabbits, primates, cats, dogs, and other animals are locked inside cold, barren cages in laboratories across the country. They languish in pain, ache with loneliness, and long to roam free and use their minds. Instead, all they can do is sit and wait in fear of the next terrifying and painful
Animal testing has become a controversial issue among many people in the world today. Some of these people involved in this controversial debate believe that animal testing is unethical and should be replaced by other methods. The other group of people in this debate believe that animal testing is necessary in order to research new products that cannot be tested on humans. Traditional animal testing forces animals to undergo numerous experiments for different forms of research. Medical, cosmetic, and many other types of research experiments use animals to provide the results on how the new product may affect humans. There are many people that support the use of alternative methods to animal research and then
“Over 100 million animals are burned, crippled, poisoned, and abused in US labs every year” (11 Facts). Animal testing is a very flawed creation in today’s world. This innovation has caused much harm to many animals while also hurting the opinions of animal activists around the world. Animal testing is also known as the use of animals in experiments and development projects usually to determine toxicity, dosing and efficacy of test drugs before proceeding to human clinical trials (Biology Online). The use of animal testing has been around for throughout all of history, it also carries its disadvantages as they diminish the lives of many animals along with their unspoken opinion while also having some advantages, and lastly this notion is very expensive (Scutti).
Animal testing, also known as animal experimentation, is the use of animals in research and development projects, usually for the purposes of determining the safety of substances such as food, cosmetics, and drugs. Research animals undergo procedures that can cause physical and psychological distress. Mostly, the animals are euthanized, or killed, after the experiments. However, many organizations such as PETA and the Animal Justice Project have brought up, and are fighting against the dangerous outcomes of animals as they undergo testing. As a result, the topic of animal testing has become a divided and controversial topic among individuals, questioning whether it is ethical and unnecessary or humane and necessary to the science development.
Animal testing is a hotly debated topic among many people. It is the use of animals for research purposes, or to test various new medicines or products. The goal is to see how the animals will react before the products are used for human consumption. The problems arise with the issue of ethics and whether or not the results will actually translate to humans. Those in favor of animal testing will say that animal testing is beneficial, and that the life of a human should be prioritized before other animals. Also, testing on animals will prevent any damage to humans that would arise from human testing. Those against animal testing believe that humans and all other animals should be treated as equals. They also believe that it is inhumane to test
For my paper I chose the topic of animal testing because I have always been very passionate for animals and against animal abuse. I have never believed in animal testing and that there were always other alternatives. I wanted to look further into and educate myself about what is being done about this and why it is an ethical issue. I have come up with an axiom to summarize this topic. Testing animals in research revolves around the relative or moral value of humans and animals, and many different viewpoints helped to contribute to the development of ethical principles of animal treatment.
Throughout history, animal testing has always been a controversial and sensitive topic. It can easily receive much hate as well as praise which could be accounted for by many different factors. Animal testing is such a broad idea that can be misconceived in multiple ways such as unethical animal breeding, mutations, or cruel product testing. Yet, that is not the case at all since animal testing could also have a positive and beneficial outcome to which helps people in society. While there are many controversial thoughts on the many different factors that apply to animal testing, I find it to be that many of the pros outweighs the costs that comes animal testing such as the ethical or moral reason. Although when including the ethical or
Each year, millions of animals are studied in laboratories to measure the toxicity of different chemicals and drugs. According to some people, animal testing is unnecessary and cruel. On the other hand, supporters argue that it is essential for current research. Today, I am sharing information I have carefully gathered with you. All the sources I have used to research are credible and contain accurate facts and statistics about animal testing. As consumers, is it important to know how researchers and scientists determine when chemicals and drugs we use are safe. In fact, most of the chemicals are used in our everyday lives such as; pesticides, vaccines, and cosmetics. In this speech, I will be sharing background information on animal testing,
In the following essay, I will debate the issue of animal testing along with the manufacturers whom participate, and provide information for both sides. I will start by presenting some basic animal cruelty laws. The Animal Legal Defense Fund maintains a database of criminal animal cruelty cases in the U.S. reported to our organization. In the last ten years, over 30% of cases that we have tracked involve animal neglect (Animals Neglect Facts). Animal cruelty includes some of the following, torturing an animal, failing to provide food, care or shelter, abandoning an animal, killing, seriously injuring or poisoning an animal, causing an animal to fight with another, using a live animal as a lure in a dog race, etc. (Texas Animal Cruelty
In the opinionated world we live in today, a very controversial topic is upon animal testing. Animal testing is also known as animal experimentation, animal research, and in vivo testing. It is the use of animals in experiments that seek to control the variables that affect the behavior or biological system under study. This study often gets confused with field studies in which animals are observed in their natural environments. Experimental research with animals is usually conducted in universities, medical schools, pharmaceutical companies, defense establishments, and commercial facilities that provide animal-testing services to industry. The aim of animal testing differs on a continuum from pure research, done with little regard to the uses to which understanding may be put, to applied research, which may focus on answering some question of great practical importance, such as finding a cure for a disease. Examples of applied research include testing, breeding, defense research, and toxicology, including cosmetics testing. For educational purposes, animal testing is sometimes a component of biology or psychology courses. The practice is regulated to varying degrees in different countries.
From the moment that the research project was assigned to me, I had a pretty good idea on the topic that I wanted to write about for the semester. Animal testing is a broad and controversial topic to many people because scientist and doctors are testing products on animals. Instead of testing on animals there are other ways to test products on. To prevent animal testing, one can buy cruelty-free products, educate others, help stop cosmetic testing or make donations to organizations that are against testing on animals. For my topic, I choose to research whether animals should be used for scientific or commercial testing.
