Gun Control Debate
Gun control, the term many have heard, but have no idea what it is about or what it even means to them. Information has shown that gun control is very diverse and difficult. It is hard to work around guns and dangerous people. It is also hard to put laws into action without upsetting large groups of people. Government and other political groups take baby steps to gain any progress. Gun laws should be enforced through background checks and more enforcement on assault rifles because most deaths are not related to gun violence, but mental health.
First of all, background checks need to be increased and gone through more thoroughly. According to the article “Gun Control isn’t the Answer” There are federally required background

The article “Gun Control isn’t the answer” stated “There is no way to extinguish the supply of guns. It would be constitutionally suspect and politically impossible to confiscate hundreds of millions of weapons” (James Q. Wilson) The facts are absolutely correct, there are millions of legal and illegal weapons within our borders and no way to cut off the supply of weapons. Criminals always find ways around the laws and rules. “There is the problem of lack of political will within the Executive Branch, one key example is the ban on imported assault weapons” ("Fully Enforce the Ban on Imported Assault Weapons”). The government is even lacking support on the ban of illegal assault weapons. It would make a huge difference in the United States if the ban was enforced with more power. It would bring down several mass shootings and homicide deaths across the nation. “Gun Control: An overview” states “As defined by gun right advocates, only fully automatic weapons should be considered assault weapons” (Lee, M., and Alexander Stingl). If the gun does not spray rounds constantly like some of the weapons out there, it should not be considered illegal and unsafe. People need to know the gun laws and be more educated about them. They need to realize the dangers of a gun but also need to realize the positives about them. They need to be kept out of the wrong people’s hands. As stated above, guns are
Gun control is a very controversial topic that has has a huge impact on the United States of America. One side believes that if guns were taken away as a whole, the country would see significantly less gun related crimes and death, while the other opposing side thinks that taking away guns is not only against the Second Amendment but would lead to an increase in crime and death because the government would take guns away from people who are legally registered to own and conceal guns. The ongoing debate will continue until the foreseeable future but their are plenty of reasons why more gun laws should be made. Taking away guns is not the answer, learning how to deal with gun violence is the key.
In the course of history gun control and mass shootings has always been an issue, but much too often, history has been being made. Gun control is an understatement for what actually is being implemented. The process to get a gun, for example, a rifle, is all too easy. Let me personally walk you through this gruesome process . First, you walk into the store, second you pick your desired weapon, third you walk to the cashier to do a background check, finally you buy the gun. The hardest part about that process was choosing the actual weapon you want. With little gun control comes more mass shootings, and with more control comes less mass shootings. Obtaining a gun is much too easy, and needs to become more strict, or even
When it comes to gun control, a considerable number of people assume it is the guns that cause the deaths that mass shootings and firearm crimes see. However, there shall never be a direct focus on the firearms themselves, but instead a focus on those who are using said weapons. Take a moment to stop and ask yourself, will a handgun kill somebody if it is just sitting on a table. No, that will never happen, to cause a gunshot to go off a being has to handle the firearm. The last thing needed in America is for mentally unstable people or a convicted felon/criminal being the one behind the trigger. Mistakenly Americans want control on the guns themselves, instead of also controlling the people buying the arms. Which the way to manage who gains access to weapons is to simply make the background checks more vigorous. Along with background checks, make new stipulations on who can buy and handle weapons and keep track of all gun sales, this includes private dealers.
One of the hot topics in society is the argument of gun control. Gun control is defined as the regulation of the purchase and ownership of firearms in an effort to reduce criminal or unsafe use. ("Gun Control" 1p. 1)These regulations include registration of firearms, banning the possession of firearms by minors, felons, the mentally ill, and people convicted of domestic violence; criminal background checks or specified waiting periods for gun purchases; limit weapon purchases at one certain time, or impose outright bans on the sale or possession of certain types of guns. ("Gun Control" 1p. 1) Even with these numerous restrictions on guns there are still roughly thirty thousand people killed with guns every year. Guns are responsible for 3.3
Gun Control is a set of laws or policies that regulate the sale or use of firearms by civilians. Guns have a high rate of killing or injuring someone, which makes this a primary topic for gun control policies. Even with a good reason to have gun control, it is still one of the most difficult topics in American politics. Criminals are affected by gun control because they won't be able to have easy access to getting a gun. Families are also affected in some way, for one with gun control families won't have to be scared of a mass shootings happening because Gun Control will be put in place. People need to care about this because kids, women and men could have been saved from some of these mass shootings we have had over the last couple of months. Families wouldn't have to mourn for their loved ones, if people can just see why this is such a big issue and be able to find a way to stop all of these killings and shootings.
Firearms are the cause of death for more than 31,000 people per year, making it the 2nd leading cause of death for people ages 15-24 (National Center for Injury Control and Prevention). As the debate over gun control continues to spread throughout the nation like the plague, everyone is trying to choose a side. Some argue that their Second Amendment Rights are being infringed on, however, when looked at in detail that is not the case. Many others argue the regulation of guns is not beneficial because criminals are okay with doing illegal things, therefore they will obtain guns anyway. There is much, however, to disprove that. These weapons are the reason why the United States has such a high rate of violence even with such high wealth. Criminals should not have the access they currently have to such destructive weapons. Gun control must be put in place in order to decrease much of the violence and death by firarem that the United States has.
There are multiple solutions that could be made so that gun control can be enforced but it is hard when it comes to making a solution that would actually work. I personally made a little small list of some original solutions that could possibly help out America in the Gun Control Crisis. One of the not so original solutions would be to strengthen the Borders so that gun trafficking can be watched over instead of being blind to the people that bring weapons into the country. Although this might cause some controversy because people might think that the borders being strengthened might be due to illegal immigrants and not illegal guns. Strengthening the borders could let us have a chance to crack down on the illegal gun sellers in the county
During the early history of the United States, gun regulations were a state centered issued. In 1827, Georgia was one of the first state to try to implement gun regulations by passing a bill that attempted to ban handguns. The law is ruled unconstitutional and thrown out (Utter, 2000). As gun technology progressed during World War One and the Thompson submachine gun was developed a change for stricter gun regulations was inevitable. The History News Network reported that, “at least 27 states enacted measures to restrict or outlaw the sale and possession of fully automatic weapons prior to 1934 (Spiltzer, 2015)”. The country understood the need to regulate fully automatic weapons but the issue would be further expounded due to the fact that
Guns control are easily accessible because the laws aren’t working hard enough as they should. Citizens with mental illness, criminals can easily obtaiqn a gun. Although majority of gun owners are responsible and aware of the potential harm guns can make, there should be stricter tests in order to gauge the eligibility of an individual to own guns in order to avoid legal purchase of guns for harmful intentions. While mass shooting tragedies in Las Vegas, and many other terrorist attacks getting innocent people killed, the reality is; murder and gun abuse is becoming almost routine. Where do the gun are coming from?. In the mid-to late 1990 a wave of high-profile mass shooting incidents in work places and school occurred most. Gun control is not a way of deprive us from our freedom, it can save thousands of lives. With this being said, there's too many deaths that could've being avoided.
Gun control, one of the most sensitive issues in America today; should we the people believe in gun control or should we discard it as futile. The American constitution states in the second amendment “ A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed“, and so why should there be a need to put regulations on gun ownership. On the other hand gun control helps regulate on persons who can own a gun such as the mentally ill and convicted felons who can cause more harm to others and themselves. Gun control will also help decrease school shootings and other mayhem that occurs in the United states. If gun control helps regulate on gun violence why is it so controversial?
Gun control is not the issue in this country. The issue stems from the ability that criminals have to obtain firearms illegally. Even with a legitimate law restricting gun sales and possession, criminals will still find ways to get their hands on firearms. Even with policies in the United States requiring background checks for gun purchases, the government will not be able to limit a criminal’s ability to attain guns. It has been found that police agencies try to limit the amount of guns that are transferred into a
Am I against or with gun control. Well I’m with gun control because it can become a help to the police and we can stop crime before it happens. In Austin, Texas in 1966. A sniper in a tower shot at University of Austin students for 90 minutes. The police who reacted had help. Students went to their trucks and grabbed their rifles and shot along side of the police. It was enough to pin the shooter down and allow the police to take the shooter out. Police then thanked the civilians for helping them fire on the shooter.
The highest figure of murders and provoking violation, the armament used is always gun. How easy is it that people just kill one another, it is that, it is much easier and handy with guns especially handguns. I Need a Gun for Self-Protection. In reality, the handgun is rarely effective against the burglar or robber. A burglar typically avoids confrontations by entering an unoccupied home, and a robber can surprise and overwhelm a victim before the latter can mobilize a weapon in self-defense. It is more likely that the burglar will steal any available firearms or that holdup victims will find their own weapons used against them. Other devastating outcomes can result from the severe trauma of a shooting. In Houston, Texas, several people had cardiac arrests from the stress of a shooting
Public health is the science and structures intended to form communal, statewide and countrywide environments that encourage health, prevent illness and boost healthy activities across the whole inhabitants. Good health outcomes not only from appropriate healthcare but also from determinations to expertise and implement public strategies and programs to guard and advance the well-being of all people. Examples of public health struggles include teaching the community about better choices, avoiding disease epidemics and the spread of communicable diseases, safeguarding safe nutrition and water in populations, preparing for disaster, avoiding injury, and much more. Representatives have policy choices at their disposal that can encourage healthy activities and change circumstances whether social, financial, and ecological to increase the health of the entire inhabitants.
Gun control does not stop criminals from obtaining guns; guns deter crime, but there should be some gun control such as universal background checks all federally licensed firearms dealer (FFL) can use. That is why there should be some gun control but not much. Guns are weapons and like any weapons, there are certain restrictions you must follow but, for the most part, any weapon/tool is allowed. What is so bad about that? Firstly, there is one major flaw with gun control and that is criminals can still buy a gun illegally and use it. So by creating gun laws it will not help, only hinder, the American citizen about the way to buy guns. To criminals, breaking the law is not a big deal; that is why criminals have the name. “To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to
