Argumentative Essay Jason is an eighth grade student at Betty White Junior High. Jason has been having a lot of issues having some of his own time. Why you may ask? Well, he has been getting slammed with homework and has no time for anything over the weekend. Jason has also been staying up very late to complete his work. He was on the basketball team but had to quit due to the homework that has been given and his lack of time. Jason has felt that all this homework has been causing so much stress that he is starting to slowly fall behind which will lead him to failure. Students should not be assigned homework. Homework decreases the time you have for extra curricular activities. Homework prevents more sleeping time and homework is the leading cause of stress. As it should be known students should not be assigned homework. Homework decreases the time students have for extra curricular activities. Students should have enough time to still be able to participate in after school activities. Learning from this we can understand homework is a long activity that is partly pointless. Coming from this we know homework is starting to cut into the students sports and clubs which is making students not have some of their own time to do what they like. Students should always every single day have some of their own time. …show more content…
Homework is proven to be slowly cutting into students time leaving them less time to sleep which is becoming a bigger and bigger issue. According to National Sleep foundation going from ages 13 to 17 students should be getting at least eight hours of sleep but only 15% of students are actually getting that amount of sleep. Homework should not be assigned due to it cutting into students sleeping time. This part of the issue is very major because sleep is something that gives humans energy and it also is a time for the mind to relax so that the next day the student can be fully
After a long day of school, students are tired, stressed, and overworked. This is often something that is ignored when it comes to students of all ages. Homework provides a heavy load that can add additional stress and time on a student’s shoulders. Schools should be making sure that students are receiving enough work throughout the day, to make sure kids do not have the worry of homework when school is over. Students who receive lots of homework, may not have enough time in the evenings to be around family, friends and enjoy the rest of their day.
Students should not have homework. First here are my reasons why some kids don't do it . According to resch 10 % out of 20% students don't do homework. Scond students should have time for some fun stuff. 20 % out of 6 % students play games 8 hours a day in school and students have game, clubs, stuff and go until 8/9 hours a night and don't get a nuff sleep. Third homework sometimes it reck the sports. And Kids don't study and kids don't use class time they talk instead of doing homework. Next kids don't fish there homework don't want to do it. 30% out 40 % do it in team team study is only 42 minutes. After school 15 minutes go to relaxing that why we should have no homework.
Liz stays up every night until midnight doing homework. She barely has any time for leisure because of extracurricular activities, and also plays year round sports. When Liz comes home everyday she is overwhelmed by the amount of homework she has. Her parents have very high standards of her and expect her to have a 4.0 GPA all throughout high school. She is constantly feeling pressured to go to college from her parents and forced into a career that she does not want. Students are receiving too much pressure to go to college from high school. Many say college is less stress and less homework than high school. Some studies say that stress may help a student to keep organized
First of all, students should not get homework is it is one cause of stress. If students don't get their homework done they can get stressed. In some cases stress can cause depression or worse things. It’s just not good.
Everyday, when the school day is over, students are most likely to get homework to do when they get home. This can be a lot or a little amount of homework, but it can still effect the students the way they are. These effects can be good, bad, or nothing, so today, we take a look whether homework should be assigned or not.
When kids have homework every night it steals time away from relaxation. Students are tired after a long day at school. For example, students are now staying at home doing homework instead of being with friends and family. Homework takes time away from
Kids shouldn't have homework. Kids have stuff to do like sports, spending time with family and working. Instead of doing 6 or so hours of homework every night. “homework came in behind not only socializing but also exercise or sports as well as working for pay.” (Gazette, par. 24) I agree because some students have to rush to get their homework done at lunch or before school because they either have sports or have to go to work everyday.
High School students shouldn't have more than two hours of homework a night due to sports, work, and their social lives. Just imagine if you had to go to work all day, then come home and go to work again until two in the morning. How effective would that make you in the morning? You would simply just be distressed and unable to work the whole next day and then before you know it you have to stay up and work until two in the morning again. Now relate that to kids and homework, when they have to stay up and do it after a long day that they already had. And after other activities that students have had they don't have time to do that much homework.
Students in school today are just not learning the right amount of knowledge which is resulting in excessive amounts of homework. This unwanted homework teachers give are eliminating family time in the homes. To lessen the drastic quantity of unnecessary homework, the time students spend in school must increase.
In the argument, ¨Should kids get homework every night?¨ I believe that homework should not be assigned anymore. First of all, kids cannot have their own time some nights because of all of the homework. If homework gets reduced, kids would have more family, friend, and alone time. Next, when teachers assign too much homework students would go to sleep later just to complete it. If kids are staying up late, they won't be able to pay any attention in class. However, some people believe homework promotes study habits, but students would not be able to study if they have too much homework. Finally, students tend to stress out because of the hard and tough homework they have. Students may not have anybody to help them. Clearly, students get too
Students, parents, teachers, administrators and other interested parties all seem to have strong and different feelings towards homework. Students complain that they have too much homework to complete outside of the hours they already attended classes. Students feel that they have personal lives to live and blow off homework while some parents and teachers believe that homework is the key to passing classes and preparation for college. This leads to teachers feeling pressured to push their students to succeed and this can easily get carried away. Parents and school systems still often discuss the topic of homework today. Should homework in school systems be stopped?
The first reason teachers should give students less homework is that it takes away their childhood. When a student goes to school for seven hours a day, and then goes home to three hours of homework, they do not get to be a kid. It is suggested that student adopt an eight-eight-eight schedule. This schedule being eight
In my argumentative essay, addressed to the principle of my high school, I will propose various, researched based ideas for which the school can use to better prepare its students for college. My articles provide thorough, meaningful evidence, statistics, and concepts on how to go about educating and qualifying students for college, and in the most wholehearted way. I will also argue why college is important in the first place, and why it is relevant to the students not only from my high school, but in high schools across America . I will uncover the harsh realities of having a college education versus only attaining a high school diploma, and will further prove to my high school principle why these matters need to be handled with such care and caution.
Homework can either be clarified for resourceful studying tool or can be a waste time for some students and some don’t even attempt to try it, but can getting too much homework be stressful causing some to have mental breakdowns or even worse things.
