Aleppo, Syria has become one of the most violent cities with, bomb raids, shooting and all acts of terror. “Thousands of people have been killed there, including 4,500 children,” reporters at CNN state. One of those children was Omran Daqneesh. This innocent, little child has recently become a poster for the harrowing casualties in nations of unrelenting wars. Videos spreading all over social media of this small, bloody, and terrified child has caused many to stop and think. Is banning all immigrants into the United States of America truly the best idea? The innocents of Syria would say, no. The policy on Immigration in the United States has never been agreed upon. While …show more content…

There are so many casualties everyday in places of crisis. According to Jason Breslow at PBS approximately 164,345 citizens have perished in the war on drugs in Mexico. (PBS) Also, the Mintpress News Desk Team wrote how a “study, conducted by a team that included some Nobel Prize winners, determined that at least 1.3 million people have died as a result of war[on Terror] since Sept.11, 2001.” (Mintpress News Desk) That kind of data can be very shocking, however for some consider it is easy to write the situation off and say it isn’t really their battle to fight and it isn’t their country’s conflict. They see their fellow humans hurt and in need of help and they want to do everything they can to aide them. Americans know that their land is more safe and …show more content…

Is that entirely true? Will the so called foreign criminals cause it to be more violent? Are the foreign criminals most of the problem? What is really going on behind our shiny red, white, and blue curtain? Seems that the thought “illegal Immigrants cause more crimes,” rings false. Wall Street Journal writer, Jason Riley found a study made by the Immigration Policy Center that notes while the illegal immigrant population in the U.S. more than tripled between 1990 and 2013 to more than 11.2 million, “FBI data indicate that the violent crime rate declined 48%—which included falling rates of aggravated assault, robbery, rape, and murder. Likewise, the property crime rate fell 41%, including declining rates of motor vehicle theft, larceny/robbery, and burglary.” (Wall Street Journal). In the prison systems also, US born citizens seem to make it on top as well. A 2008 report by the Public Policy Institute of California found that immigrants are underrepresented in the prison system. “The incarceration rate for foreign-born adults is 297 per 100,000 in the population, compared [with] 813 per 100,000 for U.S.-born adults,” (Wall Street Journal). On the other hand the violent crimes committed by some immigrants have been very catastrophic. Take 9/11 for example. Joanna Walters at The Guardian totaled the injuries at The World Trade center that gloomy day to two-thousand nine-hundred seventy seven and the death toll
