Sexual thoughts pop in and out of most people’s mind, but especially teenagers, and there’s nothing they can do about it. It is normal for teenage boys and girls to experience this, more than ever when they are hitting puberty. The hormones in the body begin to act up and teenagers want to experience other things on their own. Males begin to grow pubic and facial hairs, and their voice starts to deepen, while girls’ breasts begin to develop and their body begins to take shape. In high school, students were required to write based off of prompts and answer the question with evidence given by teachers. The essay prompts were clearly written and the papers were usually no more than three pages with only two exceptions in my high school career. Essays and papers were given to let students involve themselves with a certain topic, mostly by means of books read. Only once in high school was I given the opportunity to write an argumentative essay on a topic of my choice. Papers that I turned in followed the standard paper writing procedure with the thesis and introduction in the first paragraph, then followed by body paragraphs, and then ending with a concluding paragraph stating my side or my view on the topic at hand.

By having a higher level of education one will have better job opportunity and have a better pay. Going to college is worth paying money even though it does cost a lot. Once one starts heading to college, one may apply for financial aid, loans, and scholarships. College does pay off and is worth it because one will gain a lot more than what you invest. College pays off for everyone who attends and finishes for everyone for example, cashiers (Leonhardt). The pay wages go up with a college degree (Shierholz). Also, college proves it is worth it because 55% of college students say it helped them a lot to prepare for a job (Pew).

Once again legislators have failed to get their act together to legalize MMA in New York.While this would have been an exciting step in the right direction the next best tactic is to see how the sport ( categorized as combat) is as safe as possible for the athelete. The amemdments to the lastest bill were a jab in the right direction (pun intended). By having an Athletic Commission or third-party organizations approved by the Commission sanction events this ensures conformity of promoters, events and atheltes alike.

Imagine a minor has just been convicted of theft but their parents are the ones that are punished for the crime, not the minor. The parents had no knowledge of what was happening until they were punished while the adolescence is off the hook. Does that seem fair to you? No. Parents in most cases should not be punished for the crimes of their child because, the parents likely have no knowledge of the crime, at most ages children should know right from wrong, and the youth is the one that needs to learn the lesson.

In the English 101 course, numerous topics concerning writing argumentative essays have been discussed to improve a student’s, such as myself, writing. When writing an argumentative essay, it is important to state the point that the student is arguing, in the topic sentence, in addition to making sure that all questions asked are answered. This includes writing and reviewing the topic sentence more than once, to ensure that all aspects have been answered. In class, I have learned that writing a good essay may include writing a not too well written first draft in order to get the ideas down on paper. Writing topic sentences for each body paragraph is also of use as it frames the topic being discussed in the paragraph and ensures that the writer does not go off track. The course has also taught me to write an assumption before introducing any quote, to give a description as to what the quote is going to entail, think beyond what is written in the text, and to make connections in order to obtain a better understanding of the overall article that is being analyzed.

It's no secret that Northern Ontario has a higher rate of Opioid overdoses in our communities per capita than the GTA. We also experience an unacceptable homeless rate and almost all of our rural towns are under-serviced when it comes to mental health care. Can students go to college without complete high school? Senior year should be seen as a traditional year and a year to emotionally prepare for college or for other substantial changes that follow graduation. High school students should not skip their senior year of high school.
