Genes are made from big or small sections of DNA and act as the main instructions to make multiple molecules which are called proteins (Genetics Reference, 2017). Sometime, errors or problems can occur in the DNA structure. Often this does not cause any issues, however sometime it can result in genetic conditions or diseases. In Modern Society, genetic testing can help discover genetic diseases that could lead to harm to people now and future generations. Genetic testing involves examining DNA of organisms and can reveal mutations in their genes that may cause illness or disease that could lead to harm or even death (Mayo Clinic, 2017). As a result of genetic testing it will give the knowledge to people and doctors to resolve the issues before the issue even happen to help us get a better understanding of the issues that will rise in our life time. Genetic testing will give information to people about their ancestry, genetic disorders/diseases, if a person is a carrier of a gene that their children could get and result of their child to be harm in the future or even death. There are multiple genetic tests that would be helpful, for example, Newborn screening, Pre Implantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) and Direct to Consumer.
