Nelson Mandela once said “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” The United States Public Education isn’t giving children this weapon but is failing the children that are our future. The United States has high confidence of the quality of education but when it comes to test scores they are low compared to other developed countries. The adults making the decisions of student’s education aren’t making these decisions to help the students succeed but for the benefit of themselves. Poor choices are being made on who is shaping these children's minds and the budgeting for these public schools.

Since the test scores are so low, the United States public system needs to use these statistics create classes for the students to have the opportunity to better their low areas. With these opportunities as the scores get higher standards need to be highered so the students are constantly striving to be better. For the more impoverished communities that are not getting the funding because of the low results there should be a higher push to improve their curriculum to have the students be able to succeed and improve the scores to help the schools and the children. The slow increase of curriculum could cause a problem for the children that are already behind from there those students should be tutored. Also it has been proven the brain works better with 45-50 minutes of working with breakers for the brain to relax for 10 minutes. With more breaker for the students there would actually include a longer school day. Every change has a cost so the budgeting has to be split in a better way which could be electives or sport budget needed to get cut to have these
