That is all religion is. A story. The story of our world is ancient, complicated and beautiful, but lacks many explanations. Where did humans come from? Is there a life after death? What are the origins of the social and political divisions between our races? These are profound questions that religion, and the belief in a higher power known as God, strives to explain. The controversy in this subject matter arises from the discrepancies between accurate scientific discoveries, and ancient religious scriptures. But is there any discrepancy at all? Hinduism, one of the most ancient religions dating back to 2000 B.C.E, is often believed to be a religion full of discreditable and unrealistic beliefs, however these are simply misconceptions. Hinduism is more a basket of multiple faiths susceptible to inquiry and questioning, than a religion. The misconception regarding a lack of correlation between science and Hinduism is entirely untrue, seeing as even the most ancient scriptures show traces of the modern Darwinian theory of evolution, dealing with the progression of life on Earth from aquatic creatures to humans.
