More often than not children are unaware of what is really going on, they just do what is told or pressured to them in order to fit in or be considered “cool”. There are many advantages and disadvantages to social media when it comes down to peer pressure. With that being said, it all depends on how the social media site is being used on a day-to-day basis. Unfortunately, it is not difficult for young people to get their hands on some type of technology. “Ninety-four percent of young people have access to the Internet in their homes, while 23% of young people have their own cell phones, often equipped with text messaging capabilities and digital cameras” (Lawnow). Majority of the kids that have made friends and met people online have had a good experience with it, whereas just a few have not. The sites should only be used by finding new friends, setting a good example online, and connecting with others, and most importantly avoiding the content you know is bad for you. Today's world has changed so much, with the click of a mouse the younger generation has access to the world. A positive to social media is that the rates are continuing to increase, creating friendships and even relationships. Over the years, people have been recording the amount of cyberbullying that has been happening to individuals. They have recorded that just in one year, about forty-two percent of people with social media accounts are cyberbullied. Adults are starting to realize that the teenagers are

If there are no regulations or limitations on social networking the repercussion will accumulate. Young people need to know that social media can affect their lives in many negative ways when being stuck on their media too much. Social networks is not a necessity

Social media has become a huge part of today’s generation. It is how we interact with others from different parts of the world. Others share their everyday lives and exciting moments through videos and photos. There are several different social media outlets that make these ongoing events available to teens. Including, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat; which all share some form of communication.
Since the early 2000s we have changed the meaning of what it means to be social. We have exchanged letters for texts, and faces for pixels. We have in a way become more social and lonely a society could be and we are still progressing. In a less dramatic tone, social networking is a way to contact anyone around the world; from friends to strangers. But the big issue is, what is it doing to our youth and sociaty as a whole. As for our argument we seem to have a case of how good or bad these types of interactions are.
Out of the variety of news sources such as TV, radio, or newspapers, one of the popular sources in today’s world is social media. People are getting addicted to and can’t live without social media such as Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. They use social media as of where they can post their status but also where they can receive a lot of different news. While social media are spreading any kinds of news such as trend, celebrity or even politics, people easily get the information that is not true called “fake news.” The fake news raises the major problem in social media as the news source. Once people see the news, they tend to believe and share it. Liking can spread out fake news in a second. When people like the news, the activity

Young children do not need to be on social media all day like some of the older kids are. Studies show that teens are on social media seven hours a day. At a young age, it is important for children to read and be with family rather than on their phones. They are not old enough for most social media. Social media networks don't always post the most appropriate things. If children had phones most of them would most likely create a social media account.
Is social media actually a disaster for teenagers? Hilary stout’s article “Antisocial Networking?” from New York Times, April 30, 2010 discusses that social media is not a good thing because kids are less interested in face to face communication with their friends. When looking at our daily routines having our social media tell a story of where we have been and what we have done. It lets us be ourselves and lets us post our accomplishments for the world to see, however, there is a flipside to this. Letting people online know what your location is and “checking in” wherever you leave the house leaves yourself vulnerable for unwanted people to find you. More and more you see teenagers who display signs of mental health like anxiety and depression triggered by what they follow on social media. They use social media as a way to judge their lives and how they look at themselves. There has been studies that even suggest that teenagers who use facebook can actually make you feel more lonely and even show signs of depression. Sometimes instead of getting outdoors or interacting

Social media sites are websites that allow users to connect with large groups of people and share opinions, daily experiences, as well as pictures. These sites can aid with staying in contact with family and friends regardless of their proximity to you. However, these social media sites can cause damage and even bring harm. Parents should not allow children under the age of 18 to access social media sites, because children are not mature enough to deal with the potential pitfalls and dangers that are present on social media sites.
In this age of social media, we are constantly worried about being popular. We are driven by “likes,” “comments,” and “followers.” Not caring what our peers thought, our middle school selves posted anything and everything. Instagram is a resourceful tool but, if used incorrectly, could impair your social status.
