The Syrian Civil War has publicly manifested itself to the point that its influence has sent sent a massive shockwave across the globe. Years of destruction and turmoil have led to the ultimate displacement of innocent Syrian civilians by the millions. Unable to return to their bombed out residencies in fear of the dangerous repercussions of a war torn area, these refugees have also been met with backlash in the hopes of being harbored by neighboring countries. As a nation built upon the core values of accepting those seeking asylum, America must increase acceptance of Syrian Refugees who have been denied the right to a life without fear.
Life for a normal civilian still in Syria has become something of a nightmare. The United States must adhere to allowing more syrian refugees because they no longer have access to suitable living conditions. Be it the threat of Al-Assad’s barrel bombing attacks that reduce apartment complexes to rubble, or the impending death at the hands of limited resources and disease, there is no means for a proper lifestyle. Not to mention the terrorist and rebel groups that have infested Syrian cities, such as Mosul and, Aleppo, as well as the surrounding countrysides. These people need help, as any attempts of fleeing the nation is an attempt met with dire consequences and, more often than not, death. According to United Nations backed statistics from the Regional Refugee and Resilience Plan (3RP), there are 5,419,277 registered Syrian refugees
Many people believe that the United States should not let Syrian refugees into the United States to escape war would damage the country’s safety and way of life, but the U.S. should allow them in because it provides these immigrants such as humanitarian aid, safer families, a well- rounded education, and a strengthened workforce. As the Syrian Civil War rages, ISIS bombs the Middle East, and Russia targets airstrikes, thousands of Syrian refugees flee their home and country with their lives. Children cannot go to school and parents are running out of money. They need aid, but in the war-torn cities there is little help that these people can find. Separated from their jobs, livelihood, and families, they can
The utterly diminished and persistently conflicted regime of Bashar Al-Assad has led to several forces, including numerous rebel groups, Kurdish forces, and even ISIL to occupy the war-torn country of Syria in a seemingly never-ending ruination. Most importantly however, it has also led to millions of Syrians becoming dislodged between the remnant regions with the deaths of roughly half a million citizens, according to the Syrian Centre for Policy Research, from a civil war that originated due to a series of protests and differentiating ideologies. The situation has lead for surviving Syrians, now properly known as refugees, to seek asylum in neighboring countries in Europe, but even including some countries as far as in the Western Hemisphere, particularly the United States.
Over the past four years, the situation within the Syria has become more and more dangerous. As many as 6.7 million people, have been displaced from their homes within the country alone. Another 4 million have fled the country entirely, in order to get away from the incessant fighting. An estimated 200,000 people have been killed over the course of the war, but the country is so
In this paper, I will argue that the United States should accept more Syrian refugees by analyzing Miller and Kukathas’ arguments to reach the conclusion that Kukathas makes a more convincing argument because the freedom of movement argument and the humanity obligations of the United States outweigh the risks of a threatened cultural identity and economic state. The Syrian refugee crisis started in March of 2011 when anti-government groups began to protest against the government. These protests quickly became violent as the government turned to armed opposition groups to quiet the rebellion. This violence has created chaos in Syria as human rights are being violated everywhere and necessities are becoming scarce. There is no sign of an end approaching as the death toll reaches over 250,000. Syrians are escaping after seeing the destruction around their homes from airstrikes and bombings, killing many friends and family members. The U.N. estimates, a potential 11 million people are displaced, fleeing to nearby countries with refugee camps or Europe in hopes to gain citizenship. The journey to escape Syria is not an easy one with the threat of snipers and kidnappings for young men to fight for either cause. The need for aid continues to grow as humanitarian organizations attempt to keep up.
Last September, four year old Shahad was found in the rubble of a bombing site in Western Syria. Seven of her family members were killed in the incident. Now in a Lebanese refugee camp, Shahad and her remaining family members are struggling to survive. These are the families that the United States has the potential to help. The potential to let into our country. The potential to offer these types of families a proper education, because we, unlike them, have enough resources. We should let the Syrian refugees into our country.
The ERLC website notes that the Syrian refugee crisis is the worst since World War II, with more than 13.5 million people affected. Over four million have migrated to other countries as refugees, where they live in dingy and unhygienic living conditions. Millions of children have left their education, which makes them vulnerable to early marriage and child labor, and might have long-time repercussions on their lives as well.
If America were controlled by savage religious terrorists who wanted the world to end, what would a person do? Of course, a person’s first thought would be to fight back, but what if the civilians could not do anything? What if the people who took over America were ruthless and anyone who did not pledge to their religion would have his head cut off? The next probably be to flee the country and go to a safe location. The concept to move would defiantly be put into action as thousands of people would flock to countries such as England, Australia, and France. The truth is currently twenty-seven republican American governors are strongly pushing executive orders saying no Syrian refugees can come to their states. These states include Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Massachusetts, and Texas, just to name a few (Panic). This is a bewildering order to push considering the majority of people in Syria just want to escape the tragedy they are experiencing back home. Because America is the home of the free, and throughout history, has become a beacon for refugees all over the world, all Americans officials should accept the Syrian refugees into America.
As you walk down the street from the grocery market, cruel words ring out and fill the air. You feel a slight tug at your black suit as your mom tells you to rush into the house. Coming from a bad environment, many refugees are perceived as a threat, and they weren't allowed to enter the United States. Still, Jews weren't welcomed, while many Syrian refugees are granted an entrance. While Syrians and Jews were wrongfully labeled as a threat, the Syrians are permitted to enter the U.S. while the Jews weren't.
There has been a lot of controversy over the past few months with regards to allowing Syrian refugees to settle in the United States or not. Although there are many reasons as to why people don’t want the refugees to settle in the states, the reasons as to why we should outnumber them. Everyone’s opinions are different, but the main one that people seem to agree with is our safety. Everyone seems to be thinking about the safety of our country, but what about the safety of Syrian refugees? Syrian refugees should be given a chance at a better life and the only way to do that is for the United States to help out.
The Syrian Refugee Crisis is one of the worst humanitarian movement since WWII. Since 2011, over 11 million people have been forced to leave their homes due to the civil war that erupted over changes in the government (Fantz). As more refugees leave the country in search of safety, acceptance, and opportunity, pressure is put on the world powers to accept Syrian Refugees into their countries. Europe has received an onslaught of refugees, and now all eyes fall on America. Pressure is building on the U.S. to accept Syrian Refugees, however, with the rise of ISIS, many Americans have become more hesitant to let them in.
Syrian refugees should not be allowed into the United States.we already have many immigrants coming in legally and illegally. The United States already has an overflow of the population and we still have problems that we have not fixed, so why should we fix the Syrian’s problem. We have no idea if the Syrians will attack us or not, once they get into our country, they will also have a possibility to take our jobs.
As of right now, the situation between the U.S, and Syria is anything but peaceful and suitable for Syrians. Just recently, the U.S president, Donald Trump, just launched a bomb in Syria, destroying many buildings, businesses, and homes for the citizens of Syria. With nowhere else to go other than other third-world countries like Jordan, Syrian refugees resulted in escape the war and mass destruction of their homeland, in pursuit of better life, a blank slate. Few hundreds to thousands traveled to Europe, and Asia, but great amounts of refugees are trying to migrate to the U.S. To many immigrants and refugees, the U.S seems to be the best option for them, in terms of better opportunities in life, work, etc. But many U.S citizens, and even higher powered individuals, such as Donald Trump, doesn’t want
Immigrants and refugees, for many centuries, has been looked at as burdens and last class people in society. Countries have had basically wars over this issue. When talking about immigration and refugees in the government it is an issue of what do we want the immigrants to see and not see. Escape to the E.U. pointed out some great push, pull factors or what immigrants see and endure that can draw them to a place or away.
America is the one of the most famous country in the world. Peoples from different countries visits and lives with their families. Eleven million Syrians have fled their homes since civil war broke out in 2011.Some of the syrian might be innocent and they have right to live their new life.Syria should not allowed to united states because they might harm or make other people's angry.Syria should be ban to come to america.
The Syrian refugee crisis has received massive media coverage. People around the world are trying to comprehend the desperate, complicated situation surrounding Syria. The civil war in Syria is the worst crisis in our time. Syrians upset at the fact that long promised reforms have not been enacted, began anti-government demonstrations which started the civil war in 2011. The peaceful protests turned ugly, with the government violently putting an end to those protests. Afterward, ordinary citizens took arms, causing the situation to escalate. Syrians are fleeing their homes because of the great violence, which have left thousands dead and millions wounded, a collapsed infrastructure, resulting in a shattered economy, and for the safety of the children. Syrians are either streaming to surrounding countries or risking their lives to travel to Europe.
