Should Muslims be allowed entry? My answer is absolutely yes. As a business school student, I cannot analysis the problem from the perspective of constitution and the opinion in the article is clear enough. However, from my recognition of it, Trump confuses the concept of Muslims and terrorist organization. There are 1.57 billion Muslims in the world and 2.454 million of them are in the United State, which accounts for 0.8% of total U.S. population (Pew Research Center, 2009). If all the Muslims are terrorists, all of us will live in misery and disturbance caused by them. In fact, those terrorists just make up a tiny fraction of the whole Muslims groups and they cannot speak for the whole Muslims. What Trump do is grossly exaggerating the threat
When an organization partakes in “proactive behavior…for the benefit of society,” it is deemed as socially responsible (P. 155). However, prior to labeling a organization as socially responsible, it is important that we first identify what specific elements of proactive behavior constitute a socially responsible business. To begin, for an organization to be considered socially responsible on the highest level, it must take a proactive approach to doing business. This is defined as “[taking a] approach to social responsibility in which an organization goes beyond industry norms to solve and prevent problems” (P.155). In addition, it is standard for a socially responsible organization to incorporate a larger scope of stakeholders, to include external stakeholders, in their business decisions to create positive externalities, and mitigate negative ones, to benefit society as a whole.
On September 11th, 2001, a terrible event in history took place. With thousands dead and many more injured, the shocked and horrified US citizens looked for someone or something to blame. All Muslims ended up taking the blame for the actions of a small, radical, Islamic group called ISIS. The whole Islamic community shouldn’t receive hate and discrimination, just because the terrorists acted under the same religious beliefs.
Immigration has been a burning issue lately, particularly after Donald Trump’s immigration ban in the United States of America. It has been a topic that families discuss every morning with breakfast. Despite many concerns related to immigration, it has several positive benefits that mostly outweighs the negativity. People bizarrely argue when it comes to immigration, but these arguments are primarily based on facts and ideas that are outdated or inconsistent and blindfold the positive aspect related to immigration. Many immigrants in the United States are good workers who don't depend upon any public welfare and mostly help in the overall development of the economy. As a country made by immigrants, we must not forget the fact that immigrants have helped to build cities and create a path of development form Google to iPhones (Gray & Furman, 2012). These facts are secluded, and some related arguments with different content have been repeated for years and continue. Immigrants have a lot to give the United States rather than to take, especially when it comes to economic terms.
Culture is the way people view their world. Through culture, beliefs are born. What a person believes is directly associated with their behavior. Broome, (2006) states "cultural sensitivity can be defined in the broadest sense to be an awareness and utilization of knowledge related to ethnicity, culture, gender, or sexual orientation in explaining and understanding situations and responses of individuals in their environment.” While assessment tools aid in diagnosis and treatment, to be effective, cultural sensitivity is an inclusion of the client-centered approach enveloped in the assessment instrument. Using a cultural lens in client assessment
In the beginning, thirteen colonies united to overcome the British imperial authority; thus, America was founded in 1776. Amerigen, a name created by a young Alsatian proofreader named Matthias Ringmann in the early fifteen century, means no-place-land, the new-land, or the land of Amerigo in Greek, according to Toby Lester. The land of Amerigo was a place where the European civilization could go to be reborn, as many Renaissance observers had begun to hope. Whichever the meaning, the name America filled a need. Ringmann deliberately invested the name America with ideas that still resonate today and still provide important parts of the national
Franklin D. Roosevelt, an American president, has Dutch ancestry in his life. Anybody who comes to America are from different cultural backgrounds; every family arrives in the United States to make something of themselves. Families are getting ripped apart as they are being deported back to their homeland, and leaving the life they built behind. A great deal of diverse families who travel to the United States; are deprived of their American dream because of fear of deportation. Illegal immigrants should be granted amnesty because Immigrants are taking jobs many Americans do not want, they are taken advantage of for not having legal documents, and they are not secured by fundamental living rights.
“President Obama has directed the United States government to accept at least ten thousand refugees from Syria in the next fiscal year.”(Eilperin,Juliet, and Carol Morello) A fiscal year is a year as reckoned for taxing, or accounting purposes. Just hearing this has different effects on many people. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion because some may say immigrants, are dangerous when there is six% chance of any immigrant becoming a terrorist, or committing a crime. So people can’t just judge someone because they appear different to you. “The United States is a nation of immigrants” A quote from former president Theodore Roosevelt is stating that America is a nation of immigrants and that is true. All though some
All of us, every single person had to come from somewhere. So if that's the case, then how can we make immigrants today feel safe and welcomed. An immigrant should feel ok to eat the foods they used to eat in their country. Most of the time they don't.In just 15 years a man or woman can become obese just because they want to fit in.
The Nazis used propaganda to a great extent in Germany. It was impossible to escape and millions of ordinary Germans came across Propaganda every day. Not all the propaganda in Nazi Germany was successful but I believe that overall propaganda was massively successful in gaining Hitler and the Nazis support and influencing Germans with Nazi ideas and attitudes. By dominating all aspects of society many Germans were well informed about the policies of the Nazis and the success of the propaganda used made Hitler extremely popular amongst Germans.
Immigration rights and importance is one of the United States’ biggest issues. Many believe that legal immigrants are treated as normal citizens. But they are not. Law enforcement breaks laws and are unconstitutional. Also, the government believes that immigrants take resources and are a danger to society.
Immigration has become a big topic once again, due to President Trump trying to take down DACA, a way that former President Obama had issued to protect DREAMers against deportation. There are those who are anti-immigration because those individuals believe that undocumented aliens don’t belong in their country and that only those who were born in the US should be the only one living in the US, and others who believe that no matter what country you come from doesn’t matter. “Anti-immigration forces wanted to avoid at all cost the perception that they were opposing immigration reform based purely on xenophobia” (94). So, then the next step of organizations that are anti-immigration are to take action and do what they do best, tell a lie, to cover up the truth and so more harsh consequences are taken when debating about what the next step is for immigrants and its policy about immigration.
agriculture. Natives have a mindset that they are too good to be working at such lowly
“Islamophobia is prejudice towards discrimination against Muslims due to their religion, or perceived religion, national, or ethnic identity associated with Islam because Muslims have different beliefs and values”. (Islamophobia wikipedia 1) Like anti-semitism, racism, and homophobia. Islamophobia describes mentality and actions that domain an entire class of people. Jews, African-Americans, and other populations throughout history have faced prejudice and discrimination. Islamophobia is simply another reincarnation of this bigotry. According to the Merriam Webster dictionary,a phobia is an exaggerated, usually inexplicable and illogical fear of a particular object, class of objects, or situation. It may be difficult to determine or communicate the source of this fear, but it exists. From this definition we can see how is so unfair to connect the word phobia to Islam specially because the word Islam in arabic means peace and safety. All that means that a lot of people don’t know nothings about Islam and the unknown can easily provoke fear.
There is currently debate about, if Muslims should be allowed into this country, specifically Muslims from Syria, Iran, Yemen, Libya, Somalia, Sudan,
Be it resolved that the United States fully repeals the travel ban due to the discriminatory effects it has on some people. The travel ban is a terrible executive order that was put into place by President Trump on january 27th of 2017. The travel ban was put into place to protect the United States by not allowing any citizen from seven muslim countries to enter. These seven countries are; Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen. These countries were targeted due to supposed risks of these countries harboring extremists groups such as Isis or Al-qaeda. According to the article “Trump's executive order: Who does travel ban affect?,” by BBC News, “ The travel ban suspensions the US refugee program for 120 days, places and indefinite ban on Syrian refugees and suspends all visas of incoming immigrants of the seven banned countries” (BBC News). The seven countries are heavily muslim, however most of the people in these countries are no threat to the United States in any way. Why is the United States completely discriminating the islamic religion when we are founded on the basis of religious freedom. Not everyone who is muslim is a terrorists so why are we punishing a lot of good people for the actions of very few. Most of the terrorist attacks that have happened since 9/11 have been carried out by a U.S citizen, so are we going to start deporting all muslim U.S citizens? The islamic religion is not the problem it's the radicalistic idea that some people
