On the 5th of Oktober 2011 I was sitting on the couch just risen from my sleep still yawning when the news came on like any other Wednesday morning. By the tone of the anchors voice I immediately woke up thinking a disaster had struck somewhere and there was breaking news. Steve Jobs, the famous CEO of Apple inc. had passed away due to pancreatic cancer. My family had always been quite a fan of Apple products and it was always a thrill to watch Job’s presentations so it was a slight dissapointment. After having made toast there were 3 more news headlines which all had the same tone of seriousness which reported this matter. It surprised me that this news was so big in the Netherlands. Once on the bike in the rain I passed the local kiosk …show more content…
When researching this topic I came across a very strong article written by Forbes USA about overrated people. They conclude by saying ‘ Steve Jobs and Bill gates have drawn a great dael of admiration these days for their pioneering successes that changed the world we live in. While well deserved, this admiration may be overrated, as the accomplishments of these celebrated entrepreneurs is a collective rather than an individual act.’2 I agree with this statement which is also talking about Bill gates. Many of Steve Job’s successes weren’t solely made possible by him but by a great deal of unnamed and un-heard of people. This might be speaking only about Steve Jobs as a person and not about his death however its what people think of one before one dies that make someone decide if they give attention to ones death.
Although being on the foreground of many of Apple’s milestone achievements I find that Steve Jobs’s death was overrated to a certain extent. Do not understand me wrong, I don’t make light of anyones death nor do I make light of Steve Jobs’s death however I do find that the immense amount of attention given by online and offline media, stores and people themselves was too much for a person who really did not actually invent anything groundbreaking. It might be a case of miscommunication to the masses as people do believe Steve Jobs was the main inventor of all the tech which changed our
Kevin Gates is an inspirational speaker and pushes people to push them self. “Love the people god gave you because he will need them back someday.” Is what he is saying in this quote is don't spend so much time on not liking people and just enjoy life and don't fight with others. “Don't lose your mind trying to wait for people to come to their senses.” In this quote Kevin is saying don't tear yourself down when people don't talk to you or contact you.
Steve Jobs was like the Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell and the Albert Einstein of our time. He not only innovated personal computing, but personal media and communication, iTunes which became one of the most popular music and video retailers and Pixar which was one of his side projects had become one of the greatest animation digital movie creators and software. But all that is a just part of the list of his legacy, because in the end he still left behind Apple which is world’s most valuable company, which is valued at $350 Billion Dollars.
During a press conference on Monday, Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith Sr announced that he plans to retire after the 2015 season.
A lot of negative has been coming to light lately about the Brown family from Alaskan Bush People. Radar Online shared the news that Matt Brown was arrested for DUI back in 2013 and the details of his big arrest are now coming out. This family claims to live far away from civilization out in the middle of Alaska, but somehow Matt Brown is ending up at a bar and having a good old time, that turned into trouble in the end.
Well being a seventeen year old black female from St.Louis, there isn't much that I can't remember from the infamous Mike Brown case that shook the World. I've always been someone that's really passionate about social issues like violence in inner cities, the death penalty, women's rights when it comes to abortion, and many other things. But the thing that I'm probably most passionate about, even since I was a little girl was criminal reforms and solving the problem of there being so many Black and Hispanic young men in this country's prisons. And ultimately wanting to give young black and brown men a better image, letting the world know that they are more than just a statistic. So when Mike Brown was fatally shot, back in 2014, it really hurt

After spurning the Erie Otters of the OHL and Frolunda at the beginning of the season, Karlsson opted to try his hand with Skelleftea. There, he performed fine at the junior level as a point-producer, but couldn’t take advantage of minimal icetime in the SHL and opted instead to gain his release and re-join Frolunda, the organization that he grew up in. Karlsson is known as an agitator, and now that he is settled back home, he will be a name to keep an eye on as he
In the Michael Brown case some eyewitnesses said that Brown had his hands only waist
Steve jobs demonstrated to the world just how fundamental technology is in our developing environment. He exemplified a successful and innovative leader, especially in the face of failure. One could argue that although Steve Jobs was an extremely influential businessman of his time, he had numerous tragic flaws. Egotistic is a word that describes this illustrious worker. Credit for ideas were never given to the instrumental “behind the scenes” intellectuals, and without the them, he may never have been so successful. While he was working for Apple, people would always struggle with the individualistic approach he had and would often times complain about his boastful nature. He exhibited qualities that made his dislikable, however without Steve Jobs the iPhone, a
Steve Jobs was most famously known for his ideas that skyrocketed the Apple’s revenue in the American entertainment and technology market. It was not Apple as a company that created such an impact in the American economy but it was Steve Jobs’ creativity, vision, and leadership. When Steve Jobs left apple for six months due to health
Every successful business have a bad side to it, such is Walmart, one of the top topic these days for cheating hours off their workers, low wages, and using public’s money (subsidies) for their business. There have been many reports against walmart, but we have rarely seen anything about it on the news or on any other popular site, and there have been too little thing done about it. Walmart have to be more in-check with the Union or the government, because walmart have done many things that hurt their employees and the community just for some profit, and get away with it. Some people might not see walmart as a threat of any kind, but walmart is a big trouble for our community, to small businesses, and our country’s economy.
“You’ve got to find what you love,” I completely agree with Steve Jobs. Everyone searches for happiness and what they live for. He had gone through a lot to figure out what he loved. Steve’s three stories were very influencing. To be young and having to figure out what to do with his future and to make a living, was it worth it for him to do what he loves? He made me think that it was worth it in the end. Steve went through hard times, but ultimately he lived a very successful life. Steve had chosen a college that was not fairly cheap. He chose that school and did not even like attending it. His parents strived to even let him afford to go to college. Eventually he dropped out. He was making his parents happy for going, but he was not
In contrast, many people and organizations have argued that Walmart is not holding true to their original sustainable commitments. According to the Institute for Local Self-Reliance, Walmart's greenhouse gas emissions have continued to grow over the last 10 years, and it’s percentage of renewable energy is inadequate compared to other major corporations. Stacy Mitchell, the author of the report and a senior researcher at the Institute believes that the core issue behind Walmart’s lack of action is that they will not change their unsustainable business model to make sustainable advancements. She says that, "Walmart has a highly unsustainable business model, built on shipping goods long distances, selling mountains of very short-lived products,
We live in a technology driven world, almost everyone own a smartphone today. Uber and its competitors are allowing us to use an app on our smartphone to call for a cab. When a rider request a ride, the app gives you an estimated time of when the driver will arrive. It also calculates the fare and take the money out of your account. Whoever came up with the Uber idea is genius. Uber is beneficial to both the riders and the drivers. Uber created jobs for a lot of individuals, also for people who has a job but want to make extra money can drive Uber. The riders get high quality service for a fair price. In addition, the Uber app is easy to use and to understand. Increasing the amount of cars on the road results in faster pickup time which is
