Animal testing is considered a very controversial topic that evolves to protesting rather large companies, and also leads to boycotting a specific brand that is known to test on animals. Animals should not be used for testing products because it is cruel to the animals, there are now new ways to test products, and animals are very different from humans so they are not accurate results.

Have you ever witnessed a white mouse with the terror filling his eyes as he looked out of his bleak cage and into the face of the big man with the lab coat? Or have you ever seen a pregnant rabbit being tortured by the people you call scientists? One of the questions facing society today is whether or not animals should be used in scientific experimentation. Animal rights activists have pointed out the fact that animals play an important role in nature and human’s lives. Killing animals for any purpose is one of the steps that will destroy Mother Nature as well as the human race. For this reason, animal testing should not be used in scientific welfare and cosmetic industry.

Many animal activists argue against testing on animals; however, it is not as cruel as it seems. Testing is not as harmful on the animals as people may think, and it has a great purpose. Animal testing continues to advance society in a number of ways. Laboratory testing of animals should not be stopped because it is an effective way to test drugs, leads to important discoveries that save human lives, and it benefits the animals as well.

100 million animals die each in the US. Those animals include mice,rats,frogs,dogs,cats,rabbits, hamster,guinea pigs,monkeys,fish and birds. All of the listed animals are used for a biology lessons,medical training,chemical experimentation, drug,food and cosmetic testing. Plus all of these animals are tortured and forced to do things that the animals do not want to do. Animals should not be used for scientific or commercial testing because animals testing can be cruel and inhumane,tests do not reliably predict in human beings, and tests are most expensive than other test and government money is wasted.

Have you ever lost a loved one or even heard of someone passing away from a preventable disease that could’ve been stopped if the medicine to cure them was tested? About 21,000 people died around the world today from preventable illnesses. That number can easily be reduced to a much smaller number if doctors and scientists had the capability to test medications on animals. However, some argue that making an animal suffer is terrible, who would you rather want suffering? Your best friend? Or a random rat or mouse? The choice is yours. Animal testing should be used because, it can save lives, there is no other way to test the medicine properly and they help us to figure out what to change in the medicine so that it works the next time.

When it comes to the topic of Animal Testing, most of us will readily agree that alternative methods do exist that can replace the need for animals. Where this agreement usually ends is on animals are different from humans and therefore make poor test subjects. I agree that there are other methods but I also disagree that the animal are poor test subjects because a drug might work on a cell in a test tube but how will it work on a human. We don’t know until we test a living creature.

Finally, the products test on animals is completely pointless because feasible alternatives are available. Advances in technology have conveyed many other applicable alternatives to research on animals. Some of the alternatives are the use of new imaging technologies, using human cell and tissue cultures, post-mortem studies, laboratory results analysis and endoscopic analysis. Moreover, molecular epidemiology has also shown substantial potential in identifying the causes of human diseases. Currently, medical students are also taught using new and emerging technologies which are more effective and may not engage using animals for the research. Such technologies include clinical experience, interactive computer programs, human-patient simulators, studying case reports, didactic methods, and safe human-based teaching methods. The above-mentioned methods have proven to be more effective as the student is not distracted with the possibility of potentially maiming or killing an innocent animal. In 2016, the number of laboratory animals used for research was 820,812. This number indicates a 7% rise in laboratory animals since 2015 (“US Statistics”). That may not sound like a large change, but that could have been your favorite animal trying on your favorite mascara. I am one hundred percent against the use of animals for any type of laboratory testing. I am against animal testing because I know there is a more effective way to find the cures and medication that human beings need without harming animals. Also, the act is just cruel: the animal suffers extreme burns and pains; which is why I argue against the use of animals for laboratory testing.

Animals are the most used thing to test products on. Animals used everyday to test products damages them mentally and physically. Animal suffer every single day from inhumane testing. Some of the testing that they do is on wild caught primates. Animal shouldn’t be tested on because it’s inhumane to do and is injuring the animals.

This is a review of multiple works regarding animal testing and its need today. This is 2014 and there are other alternatives for testing that doesn’t involve animals. The questions are, “What are the alternatives to testing that doesn’t use animals?” and “How accurate are the results for tests where animals were used as the subjects?” In general, the literature seems to indicate that animal testing is just not worthwhile and animals should not be used anymore.

Animal research is a practice that dates back to ancient Greece used by physician-scientists like Aristotle. One cannot deny that throughout the history of this practice, researchers have treated animals poorly. However, in the modern era of science, researchers understand the poor treatment of animals, is both unethical and counterproductive to advances in science. Scientists now follow guidelines set for what is the fair and humane treatment of animals used in research, as well as when the use of animals is ethical. In addition using these new testing chips allowes scientists to have better success on finding results with human realated tests.

An estimated 115.3 million animals around the world are used every year for commercial and scientific testing(“Experiments Around World”). The use of these animals in testing is to develop ideas and drugs for medical treatment, determine how toxic the medicines are, check the safety before human use, and many other diseases and health care issues. So are animals the best option that scientists have to test on? Right now there are millions of mice, rabbits, cats, dogs, primates and other animals stuck in cages across the country so alone and frightened(Animal Testing 101). These harmful tests that scientists perform on animals represent bad science and a highly unethical practice.
