During the Vietnam War, the country was in turmoil and many citizens disliked the US Army or military personal because many innocent people in other countries were being killed. The US Army learned that it needed to make changes to stop this. The US Army now continually changes this BLC class compared to last cycle. The leadership class is taking a new approach to teaching and learning to become leaders. There is no more demise by PowerPoint and addition of a discussion to help bring ideas together was implemented.
2Lt Fisher was employed as a Platoon Commander (Pl Comd) on the Army Cadet Leader Course during her time at the CTC. At the beginning of the summer, she displayed disinterest and lack of motivation towards her position and associated responsibilities. During her initial interview, she identified two areas she would work on throughout the course of the summer: enhancing her organizational skills and ensuring cadet participation during scheduled periods of instruction.

The NL310 course has thus far presented me with a variety of topics, but the discussion about cognitive biases have resonated with me the most. I believe it has made a profound impact on me because I did not realize before how vulnerable I was to biases such as framing, confirmation trap, and the anchoring effect. Of these three biases, I think confirmation trap has the biggest influence on me. I sometimes find that when working with other mids, I look for information to confirm what I believe about them, usually regarding negative things . This has gotten me into situations in which I find it hard to sometimes find the good in people although I know it exists.
They reside in low income communities where unhealthy food choices are made due to lots of fast food stores. These areas are not safe so they tend to stay indoors and have minimal physical activity. There is limited amount of fresh produce and lots of sweets and snack items. Since these areas are not safe, there are few safe areas where children can play therefore they end up watching a lot of TV with no physical activity. The schools they attend have poor PE facilities so there is not much physical activity in school. There is also a high exposure to commercials of high sugar, high fat snacks.

As a Napa Valley College student, I’ve successfully taken several business-related courses in accounting, economics, business law, public speaking, and computer systems that are similar to courses I will be taking at the University of California. Despite rigorous course loads (16 units on average), I’ve found success in my courses using resources such as “Google Calendar” to help me time manage, forming study groups with classmates, and forming connections with instructors whom I’ve received academic support from. In addition, by experiencing success in my courses and grasping the concepts taught, I began using my knowledge to serve other students by volunteering to tutor in math, accounting and economics courses. By doing so, I’ve strengthened my understanding of the different concepts in those subjects and have successfully retained the information by reviewing it with others. Furthermore, I’ve taken

In the beginning, I felt as this English course was just another typical course with the purpose of allowing students to write more essays without the use of creativity and acuity. However, as I ventured deep into the course, I found my original opinion to be biased. Throughout my spiritual journey in ENGL 1304, I not only learned many concepts and new ideas along the way, but I was also able to connect with all my readings. From researching my online sources to constructing a coherent argument, I grasp the process of communicating my voice for each assignment through careful observation and visualization. As a result, I was able to write my essays in a more personal manner. It also led me to stray away from the concept of “just writing anything
I’ve learned a lot of useful tips from this semester in ENG 201. English has never been my strong suit nor has it been my favorite class. However this college course has changed my point of view of the subject. Prior coming into college I viewed English as a useless class because I’ve already knew the basics: how to talk, read and write essays. Today I view English as an important class. It helped me in other courses that involved writing, such as World Civilization and Communications, because it allowed me to practice my skills. In my world civilization exams I had to write essays. This course helped me write an impactful essay. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that almost all of my exam scores were in the 90s, usually I do poorly in the
Growing up in church and a Christian home led me to my saving faith in Jesus at a young age followed by baptism at nine years old. However, my biggest growth came a year ago when God made it clear to me that I needed to focus on my leadership role and purpose in the church. Out of obedience I joined the worship team and made a valiant effort to lead by example in my youth group. Having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ gives me the help and desire I need to live a good life with discipline and self-control. The ROTC program I attended my freshman year of high school taught me about hard work, integrity, and how to be a strong leader. These things, I believe, will help me not only find success at Liberty University but also help me share
To me, the opening section is what stood out when first reading the syllabus. Before coming to college attending students usually, will tell you how difficult classes are and how professors don’t care about your problems or what you're dealing with personally. They’ll say something like the professor comes into the classroom takes homework, lectures, gives test and grades. However, after I read just the opening section of the syllabus I could tell that this course would be of a course I’ve never taken before.
