First off Congrats on the promotion to a very distinguished rank, part of the elite officers of the Armed Forces. I know it is well deserved. I appreciate the opportunity I was bestowed to meet you and also having my spouse be a part of your leadership team. I wish the best for you and your family as you pursue the next leg of your military
A release from The Bureau of Labor Statistics stated around 453,000 veterans were unemployed in 2016, and a report by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development said around 40,000 veterans were homeless every night (Henry, Watt, Rosenthal, & Shivji, 2016; 2017). The Servicemen’s Readjustment Act of 1944, also known as the GI Bill, was created to support returning World War II veterans through education, housing support, and unemployment compensation. It has undergone many changes from the original to the post 9/11 GI bill to the current Henry W. Colmery Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2017, also known as the Forever GI Bill. The Forever GI Bill has expanded eligibility for benefits so more veterans can access them

Throughout different time periods and civilizations come many different types of art that would never be comparable to those of another time or place. There are also the pieces that come from a completely different time and place, but yet they can still be compared to one another. The Torso of a God (Egyptian, New Kingdom, Dynasty 18, last decade of the reign of Amenhotep III, Granodiorite, 1359-1349 B.C.) and the Statue of Asklepios (Greek, Hellenistic period, Pentelic Marble, 2nd century B.C.) are two sculptures made hundreds of years apart, yet they both display many similarities and show how art is constantly changing whilst keeping the same core ideas.
It is necessary for military professionals to take the time to study military history, for it aids in not only their personal success but also in the success of the mission at hand. When one understands past failures and the causes, they are able to better wage what necessary actions must be taken to achieve success. Also knowledge is power. The more information a NCO has, the greater ability he has to make decisions which will allow him and his team to operate in a more safe and effective manner. By combining past success and failures with personal experiences, a NCO is better equipped for quick and effective decision making.
The United States Military Academy isn’t just another college I am applying to. It is my number one choice of colleges and if offered a nomination and appointment, I will attend. Becoming an officer in the United States Special Forces is my primary goal, as well as, pursuing a career in the military. I will be applying to traditional colleges and ROTC, since I know I need to have a back up plan, but West Point is the college for me.
Recruitment of the United States military is a vital part of maintaining an all volunteer military force. Because of recent world events and the high operations tempo of the military, Army has had some problems with its recruitment. Convincing civilians to sign up to be a solider can be a tough job when it requires being sent 7,000 miles from home to go fight in a war zone. What can recruiters do to keep
I am interested in volunteering this summer especially at Pinnacle Health because I would love to get exposure to the medical world and experience what it has to offer. I would like to give back to the community and provide service for others in the summer student volunteer program. You should select me to be a volunteer for this upcoming summer because I am a very hardworking, dedicated, and organized person. I take pride in what I do and it shows throughout all my work. I am also an intelligent person who would love to expand my knowledge as a student volunteer. If I were to be chosen the volunteer program would positively impact my life because it would help me develop a larger perspective of the world. My horizons would immensely be broadened
I joined the Air Force because I knew going to nursing school would cost a lot of money and I wanted to get help paying for it, without all the loans. After a few years of being stationed overseas, I’m finally back in the states. Being back in the states gives me a lot of opportunities to pursue my degree in nursing. Last year I entered Metropolitan Community College Certified Nursing Assistant program and received my certificate as a nursing assistant. I am now still full time active duty in the Air Force as a cop and working at Elite Professionals Home Care on my days off. I want to help make a difference in the world and I will continue to spread the love and passion I have for helping others. I love what I do as a nursing assistant and
When it comes to the topic of military service being mandatory, most of us would readily agree that it’s a debatable topic. Where this argument usually ends, however, is on the question of violating free will. Whereas some are convinced that making military service mandatory offers good opportunities and promotes national unity, others maintain that it violates free will because it doesn’t give them an option. Though I concede that a person might not want to be in the military and shouldn’t be forced to, I still insist that making military service mandatory can help people make a better step in life, and promote national unity.
What is a profession? First and foremost let’s look at how we can define a profession from a general point. A profession is an occupation requiring specialized knowledge and often long and intensive academic preparation. Profession doesn’t mean only to be perfectly prepared on the basis of theoretical aspects, but to meet the strict criteria as well. A good professional should be a leader and leadership means solving problems. Leaders can be assessed according to the amount of resolved problems. Everybody has a tendency to be successful, in trying this; a successful leader has to be confident in his decisions. It follows from that, that generally we can consider the leader as an expert, a matured personality, somebody who meets the high
I am in great need. I have 12 credits left for my undergrad degree, and my financial aid has run out. I've applied for a personal student loan but was not approved. However, I am short of $4,500 plus monies for my school books. Please note, if the agency can help me, this will be a loan. I am very independent and won't to repay the monies make to "Exhale Women." I don't have supporting documentation from Liberty University if need.
This is Julio Salcedo, we met last Saturday while volunteering with the laundry project. Mr. Brian Butler introduced us. I mentioned my interest in joining the army after I graduate from USF in May. I have not talked to any recruiters. I have had a pretty busy schedule with work and the Capstone class as the semester comes to an end. I am planning to start talking to recruiters in January. I will really appreciate any advice from you. Maybe things I should be concerned about in the recruiting process, I know you mentioned that they would possibly try to talk me out of OCS to fill in spots. Knowing a little bit about your military background and your experience in the military, I know any advice coming from you will be of great
Physical Fitness and Injury Reporting Among Active Duty and National Guard/Reserve Women: Associations with Risk and Lifestyle Factors As the presence of women in the military increases and combat roles become more open for them it is important to understand how different lifestyle factors influence physical health and injury among both Army active duty (AD) and National Guard reserve duty (RD) personnel. Military life is strenuous and high stress both mentally and physically. Understanding the risk factors of one’s health and how to stay injury free is an important aspect to success and will be an important component to include in training programs in order to enhance health protection and readiness to serve. Musculoskeletal injuries and non-combat
I am an asset to the volunteer force because I have realized what it means to become an adult. It is challenging myself by stepping out of my comfort zone and wondering how can I become a better person before asking others to change. Since I have made this revelation, I have started seeing everything with new eyes. I am much more grateful for what I have and I am eager to share my thoughts and time with the world. While there are multiple ways of practicing what I preach, this volunteering opportunity will be by far the most effective. Instead of spending my summers on myself, I will dedicate the time to others. I must admit that a year ago, the thought of applying to such a prestigious volunteer organization would have never crossed my mind
