O: There is a bunch of cigarettes inside a McDonald's fry container. There is exactly twenty five cigarettes inside the container, but two of them are bent outwards.
- P: The background of the piece of art is solid white. The fry container seems to appear like the size of small fries. The fry tray is solid red with the signature McDonald's logo centered in yellow and outlined in black. Inside the container are unused cigarettes. Each of them is white with a cork brown filter. Inside the cigarettes there is tobacco. Twenty five cigarettes are visible with 2 bent outwards.
- T: The artist behind the work of art is Charlie Ali, but the title of the art itself is unknown. The artist did this so each person who views it can interpret it and find
The artist that I decided to research was Lee S. Ivey. She was great at making sculptures. She did oil painting and drawings as well. Her paintings were amazing. However, I’m more fascinated with her sculptures because they’re so different and they tell a story. She even have a piece called “Deaf President Now”, which is currently on display at Gallaudet University. Pieces like this really shows how she was part of the Deaf community, and how she saw the talent and aspirations of the community. I like the mysteriousness of her art and how it causes you to wonder what emotions she was feeling when she created the piece, and what the message was that she was trying to convey. All of her pieces seem to have some kind of message. For example,
On the paintings we see 24 human like figures organized in three rows. The artist use white paint against dark brownish background of tree bark. All figures look alike except five females in the middle register, who can be identified by protruding breasts. Women hold some kind of rope or curved stick, men are playing musical instruments and holding boomerangs.
To begin, the artist has depicted to people in the
Kehinde Wiley is a New York based artist whose paintings focus on the themes of empowering black men and combining classical and contemporary styles.
On the right side, a man who smokes is exhibited. Half of his head has decomposed, revealing a begrimed skull. This art emphasizes the caption below it: “Smoking kills...slowly.” The man is gradually decomposing from the the appalling toxins he is willingly inhaling, daily. On the left side, the person is loading cigarettes into a Colt 45 revolver.

The shift from Realism to Impressionism in the 19th century represented not only a change in form, but it also represented a shift in ideology. As one of our module videos notes, rather than focusing on accuracy and clarity, Impressionism emphasized “what the mind and the eye sees” and the “impression of light and color.” We will briefly discuss how the differences in the approaches of the Realists and the Impressionists had interesting implications for arts and how these ideologies can be applied to the ways in which believers and unbelievers interpret art.
This paper is a formal analysis of the Marble grave stele with a family group relief sculpture. It is a pentelic marble style relief standing at 171.1cm tall carved by a master. It is from the Late Classical period of Greek, Attic which was completed around ca.360 B.C. . I chose to analyze this piece as apposed to the others because I’m mainly attracted to art and sculptures from the Greek era. The overall color used in this relief is ivory with a few cracks and pieces broken off. There is some discoloration which causes the color to come off as slightly light brown for most of the relief. The sculpture appears larger compared to the other sculptures in the art room. It represents a family which includes a man, his wife, and their
The title of this art piece is called Marylin Diptych. The artist for this piece is Andy Warhol. He created this art piece of silkscreen print, in the year 1967, for Marilyn Monroe within three or four years since she had passed away. This piece was published through Factory Additions, a company he created so he can make and distribute his prints. The original piece is currently owned by Tate Modern. On the left side are twenty-five images are painted in color while on the right side it is just black and white.
This is an artwork shown in MoMA on Floor 4, in the Collection Galleries, 1961, with other paintings and sculptures, measured by 6' 8 1/4" x 7' 5" x 34 3/4", such as Sir William Lyons, Malcolm Sayer and William M. Heynes’ E-Type Roadster which is an old fashion sports car. Lee Bontecou’s work is on the right side of the gallery and placed on the eye level of normal height people. The museum label is on the right side of the sculpture. The work is in a relatively good condition. Generally speaking, the shape of sculpture looks like a flower blooming in profusion. It is an abstract sculpture because it does not have a regular form and it is also hard to tell that is a sculpture or painting. It looks like a sculpture stick on a painting and also looks like the artist paints on the sculpture.
The two works of art that I have chosen to analyze are 1) Jordan Casteel. Miles and JoJo. 2014. Oil on canvas, 54” x 72” and 2) Aaron Fowler. He Was. 2015. Mixed media, 134” x 165” x 108”. The themes that these works of art represent in regards to the exhibit are love, family, and pain. However, they also fall into other thematic categories. The main theme that seems to apply to both “Miles and JoJo” and “He Was” is Human Experience. Additionally, these arts differ in some ways.
The artwork is a realistic portrait of a women. It is abstracted with asymmetrical balance with exotic and vibrant colors. As if the women is sitting in the corner with two
The artwork is a complex mixture if colors, shapes, and tints. In the painting, there are eight figures. Seven that is to the center and left of the painting and one on the right. The seven persons on the left are all either touching each other or interlocked with someone. Of that seven, six are men and one is a female. There is a man in
If you have some free time and have always wanted to visit an art gallery, a start is the Art Sacré exposition. Just do not expect high quality art. Running from October twenty-third to December eight-teenth at Les Salles de Gesù, the exposition features four artists depicting spirituality and inner self.
The history of art dates back to ancient times. Artwork can be, and was, found around the world. What makes art interesting is that it can be created in any way, shape or form with any materials. It seems that the artwork can also tell us a lot about the artist. Art seems to be simply, a direct, visual reflection of the artist’s life. Therefore, one can assume that an artist’s life experiences and beliefs directly influence their art. If we look at examples from different periods of art we will be able to see the connection between the artist and the art.
