Many schools encourage people to become involved in service-learning projects. These projects can range from art clubs, tutoring, science clubs, math clubs, etc… These service activities are good for helping students solve real world problems, and training them to cope with real world situations. Many students also find these services enjoyable. These services help prepare our younger generations for the real world as well as help them develop people skills. But what service do I think every school should have? Well, I think an art club should be mandatory for most if not every school. Here are a few reasons why I think so.
Art helps work the mind and bring out creative characteristics that most do not know that they have. My favorite past
The definition of art is notoriously difficult and is a field of philosophical inquiry as such. The meaning of the word "art" are multiple, sediment and cross each other in the language. Missing uses of the word are present in expressions and help to make the subject more that difficult. However, according to my studies, art is an expression, a symbolic way to communicate. Its key is to make something subject or scientific, for instance: an object that went through certain modification would be consider an art. We have a different type of arts but I will only be focusing on this tree types: prehistoric art, art of the ancient near east and art of ancient Egypt.
This paper is a formal analysis of the Marble grave stele with a family group relief sculpture. It is a pentelic marble style relief standing at 171.1cm tall carved by a master. It is from the Late Classical period of Greek, Attic which was completed around ca.360 B.C. . I chose to analyze this piece as apposed to the others because I’m mainly attracted to art and sculptures from the Greek era. The overall color used in this relief is ivory with a few cracks and pieces broken off. There is some discoloration which causes the color to come off as slightly light brown for most of the relief. The sculpture appears larger compared to the other sculptures in the art room. It represents a family which includes a man, his wife, and their
Over the years, I have flirted with visual art. It started with pencil drawing, continued as an affair with marker illustration, then a dalliance with lettering, and I now have a relationship with photography. However, my favorite art will never be displayed in museums or galleries. It is not static and immutable. Rather, my chosen medium is fluid, living, volatile. No matter how well rehearsed, it will never be the same again. That’s the beauty of performance art.
There exist distinct differences between the pre-unification Theban and the block statue style that that was initiated in the Twelfth Dynasty. The face and the ears of the Theban style are large and quite conspicuous while the head was proportional to the body size, which looks like there was an exaggeration of artwork. On the other hand, the block statue had small ears in addition to a tiny head compared to the rest of the body. The block statue also had narrow shoulders with arms that were quite thin and no muscles; however, the Theban one had narrow shoulders with some muscles. Additionally, the block statue had thin legs while the Theban one was a bit large and proportional to the body. Additionally, the eyes of the Theban style are outlined
Art gallery and art museum are two different types of structure. The major difference between them is that the purpose of the art gallery is to go to discover the artist’s work and with an interest in buying their art. So it's basically a small business to promote and sell art.
The idea of this piece is to show the connection between mother and daughter being painted. It shows the time and the classic style of the
“Painting today is pure intuition and luck and taking advantage of what happens when you splash the stuff down. “- Francis Bacon. However when I learnt more about history of art and the way each movement and happenings in the world inspired artist to make new works, I was able to see much more than just a canvas with random paints and sketches. The interesting part about this concept is that each piece of art could be interpreted in many different ways. In contemporary art there isn’t right and wrong, each of us view and find different meanings and connections with artworks.
Along with My favorite type of Music, Art is an exciting way to expess ones self. I seem to favor more to Art that has a lot of emotion peeping through. Fine Art involves sculpturing, drawing, painting and print making. When participating
In general I like Avant-grade art. I like Avant-grade art for several reasons. I believe you need to research new ways to make better art. Being avant-garde include examining new artistic techniques, or exploring with new methods, in order to accomplish better art. Another reason I like Avant- grade art is because it is captured in all places making no differentiation between high and low structure of art and culture.
Everyday Sunday, some people go to church or take a morning jog, well my Sundays are a bit different. My Sundays consist of a two hour long drawing session in a little red square building called East Art Studio. I spent many years learning how to draw or paint even though I knew my mind was not set on becoming an artist. However, the years I spent drawing did give me time to reflect on my life. As a result, East Art Studios guided me toward a path I want to pursue.
New York City has always been a place where people migrate to, from all places, both from outside the United States and in. So many people come here because it is full of opportunity and chances to grow and change for a better life. Often what comes with that is art, art that shows the struggle and the joys that came out of their journey. It shows any emotion and reflects how the society viewed their journey. If the emotions and experiences from the time were positive, they produced very positive art, but more often than not the art reflected the hardships and the struggles that people went through. It’s much stronger to convey negative emotions, those are important to let out an outlet. It is often not only a way to vent out frustrations but get the point of those frustrations across.
Art helped me learn to express the feelings I couldn’t say and during that time period and I choosing to study it is the greatest decision I have ever made. Art is the reason I live now. It gives me hope, happiness, and an ability to escape. I love how it can change my view and to make me feel things. This year one of my illustrations was hung in the Museum of Contemporary Art: La Jolla, and I could not be prouder.
So what exactly is the Walker Art Center? The Walker Art Center is a contemporary art center in MInneapolis Minnesota. It was established in 1927 and it is also one of the most visited museums in the United States. For this paper I was assigned to visit the Walker Art Center and choose one piece of art to write an essay about. It was my first time going to the Walker Art Center and I found myself in amazement with the all the artwork there. I examined many pieces and found the piece “Do woman have to be naked to get into the Met. Museum”? By the Guerrilla girls the most compelling. I found this piece compelling because it was the only one that caught my eye since it was one of the few that represents feminism and equality for women and minorities.
The two art media's that I chose are drawing and oil painting. Drawings are the oldest art media. Drawings are used with pencils, charcoals, and other earthly pigments. When people used drawings it was usually used as a starting point or something and artist used to use before Painting or making it a greater artwork. It was not considered finished art at the time people started drawing. Oil paintings are a type of painting that is very slow to dry, but the painter can come back and change the colors of the painting or the overall visual of the painting.
Art cannot be classified into one category, style, or period. Art is very diverse, ranging from the beginning of the human being to today. Through the years, art has evolved dramatically from stick figures and two dimensional animals to three dimensional sculptures and intricate paintings. The artwork featured at the Seattle Art Museum shows many different types of art and features several different periods in which these artworks were created. Two pieces of art that stuck out the most at the museum was Albert Bierstadt’s Puget Sound on the Pacific Coast and Robert Arneson’s Pool with Splash. Both of these pieces of art showed character and seemed to almost speak to the viewer. Although there are many different periods
