Art Through Time Art is one of the most magnificent things of this world. People have been inspired by art and have been creating it for ages. Art is a truly magical creation that will continue until the end of time. Throughout history, many different movements of art have been introduced. For example, there was Cubism, American Regionalism, Fauvism, Surrealism, Expressionism, and so on. Each movement was unique and contained fantastic artist who poured their heart and soul into their work. All of the different forms of art vary in color as well as technique. Two essential art movements that have an effect on art today are the Renaissance and Impressionism. The Renaissance is known as the rebirth of many things including art. The peak of the Renaissance movement lasted from 1490 to 1527. It began in Italy in the late thirteenth and fourteenth centuries following the Middle Ages in Europe. These proto-renaissance period artists saw themselves as reviving the languages, values, and intellectual traditions of Greece and Rome. Some of the styles that are associated with the Renaissance are sculptures, paintings, and other decorative arts. Some greats artists from this time are Leonardo da Vinci, Donatello, Michelangelo, Giotto, Sandro Botticelli, and Raphael. The artists of the Renaissance strived for perfect art and mind. The Catholic Church was a strong supporter for their art. Pope Julius had Bramante construct the Cortile del Belvedere at the Vatican Palace in Rome
