Artemis: Goddess of the Moon and the Hunt
Artemis, who is Goddess of the Moon and the Hunt. She spends most of her time in the woods, surrounded by animals. Her Roman myth name is Diana, who also spend much of her time in the woods. Artemis has special powers, some of which include: being armed with arrows, able to inflict plague, and to heal. She is in charge of getting revenge on women, while her brother is in charge of doing the same with men. Artemis’s family is: her mother, Leto, who gave birth to her and Apollo. Apollo is her brother and her father, Zeus, is king of the Gods. She never had any husband or lover because she was devoted to protecting the woods and the animals. Because she never had a lover, she also never had children.

As soon as she was born, she helped her mother, Leto, deliver Apollo. According to her myth, her mother birthed her without pain, on Mount Cynthus, Delos, Greece. At a young age, being extraordinarily mature, she asked her father, Zeus, for eternal virginity. As an adult, she rescued her mother several times. She also punished men severely if they ever laid eyes on her naked body, or brought disgrace to her wishes in any way. She had the role of protecting nature, and she was going to keep it. There isn’t much known about Artemis’s appearance, except she wore a knee-high chiton, which is a type of tunic. Her weapon is a bow and arrows, and her favorite were arrows dipped in poison. She also asked Zeus to grant her eternal chastity and virginity. Artemis focussed on hunting and nature that’s why her symbols are bows, arrows, stags, hunting dog, and the moon. She was is the protector of wild and tame animals, agriculture,and animal herding. But just as she was the protector of all this things she also could cause sudden death and diseases with her twin brother Apollo.

Artemis is the Goddess of the hunt, the moon, the wild, young girls, and most surprisingly childbirth. Even though Artemis swore to never marry she's the Goddess of childbirth, or is at least perceived so because when she was born she immediately helped her mother with the birth of her twin Apollo who came about three minutes after her.
