Self-driving cars are being introduced into society as taxi, bus and truck drivers. While the use of automated artificially intelligent machines is beneficial to companies by lessening the amount of money they put out to employee pay checks, in the long run it will be detrimental to our economy as a whole. Robots will and are taking away jobs from people around the world, which will take away a source of income to many families, potentially putting them into poverty, lessening the amount of people who would be able to use the robotic

One of the biggest controversies with the advancement of artificial intelligence is the debate on job automation. Many people believe that artificial intelligence will advance to become better than humans and replace humans in most jobs. The opposite belief is that AI will be used to improve the standard of living and will be a tool to support humans, not replace them. Job automation has many benefits such as performing more dangerous jobs and complete tasks that humans do not desire to do. Even though job automation has benefits, there are many people who believe robots will take over the job market and the unemployment rate will skyrocket. There are multiple supporting factors for each side of the job automation debate, but the argument will never be settled until AI is further advanced and utilized.

The first step in getting anywhere with this debate must begin with defining what artificial intelligence is exactly. Artificial Intelligence, also known as AI, is the area of computer science focusing on creating machines that can engage in the human behaviors of intelligence.

Artificial Intelligence should be something helpful to us and not be something that can go against us. In an Article Elon Musk says that there are 3 rules for A.I and what should be done. A.I shouldn’t be for cyberbullying and tell people to do certain things that are not supposed to be done. Also, it shouldn’t give out personal information of whoever the provider is. With having these A.I robots they will know so much information and probably secret information that maybe the government doesn’t want out. Elon Musk states “A.I should not be weaponized, and any A.I must have an impregnable off switch” (The New York Times). He’s right what if something were to happen and they can’t shut them off and what if they have so much of everybody’s personal information that gets released.

For those who do not know, artificial intelligence is exactly what is called, an "intelligence" through a computer that is artificially created by humans. A.I. is defined to be able to learn and use the information it learns to produce "thoughts" of its own, almost as if it were a thinking human. Though many may believe A.I. is just a robot which is able to speak and understand humans, it is much more than that. A.I. technologies are being implemented in smartphones, homes, cars, watches, headphones, and is also being developed to work in many more ways that help give humanity an easier life.

Nowadays, the influence of technological development on the job market is a controversial question. It's getting to the point that with every year technology permeates in new fields of our life. In the article by the Pew Research Center "AI, Robotics, and the Future of Jobs" a number of experts state their views about the impact technology will make on employment by 2025. There are two main opposing views, the first one claims that automation will be a job creator, however, the second insists it will be a job destroyer. In addition, they share some views about positive things that artificial intelligence will give us, such as more leisure time, less working hours, the return of handmade production of goods and so on.
