-language differences- when two people are unable to speak using the same language , or have more difficulty making themselves understood,or understanding others. You could reduce barrier to provide interpreters for non-English speaking people . physical disability-there are some conditions that result in a physical disability which affects speech. You could reduce barrier to provide them with pictures or symbol boards . Confusion/dementia -patients have a short -term memory problems and become unable to make sense of the environment and people and events surrounding them. You could reduce barrier to use all your communication skills in an appropriate manner, remind them about they pass and family . Aviii Describe two ways to check that communication has been understood by all involved. ask someone to recap on what you have discussed you can rephrase what you just said and check with person that they have understood
