1. Vital signs: clinical measurements, specifically pulse rate, temperature, respiration rate, and blood pressure, that indicate the state of a patient's essential body functions.
Chief complaint: is a concise statement describing the symptom, problem, condition, diagnosis, physician recommended return, or other factor that is the reason for a medical encounter. This is the second step to the encounter.
In the past two months i fell like i have accomplished a great deal. As i focus on it more i realize i have become a better reader. I did this by concentrating on my readings and take my time to read them. With the help of my professor and classmates i began to analyze what i read.
Vital signs are measurements of the body’s most basic functions. They are very useful in detecting and monitoring medical problems. There are five main types of vital signs which are temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and pain. They can be measured in a medical setting, at home, at the site of a medical emergency, or elsewhere.
The research design of this study is a descriptive prevalence study. The purpose of descriptive studies is to observe, describe, and document aspects of a situation as it naturally occurs. In
“Leave nothing but footprints, Take nothing but pictures, Kill nothing but time is a quote that shows me how to enjoy life at its fullest. This quote reminds me of when I was doing the observation for this project and I left footprints, took pictures and killed time. Quotes show emotion into the words and this one made me think how I never get to enjoy the wildlife because I am always busy. I would like to enjoy the time with the wilderness and this quote shows how to kill time and give memories. This quote is something that can happen and I am going to make it happen more often.
This article is about the catastrophic backlog in the Toronto police background checks for students who would like to enter the RCMP after they graduate. This is a big problem for the students and for the RCMP. For the students it means that it will take longer for them to get the job that they have studied for and will have to wait a while for them to pay off the debt. The reason why this is a big problem for the RCMP is because they have to do a background check on anyone. The Toronto police get around 200 new requests for checks each day, which cased the backlog of almost 17,00 request. Also if the request is the same gender and birthday of a wanted criminal the RCMP requires finger prints to determine if the person did not change their name without the government knowing causing a bigger delay because of the amount of people in each province. The RCMP have to require finger prints from everyone who needs vulnerable sector screening but they find that it could cause more a backlog for the system that keeps all the records.
University of Central Florida possesses a plethora of devoted students in numerous areas of academics. To truly understand the amount of devotion students have, it is best to examine a document explaining a report of some extracurricular activities students contend in. However, this assignment will go beyond just examining the surface of the document as it will also take an in depth look of the style, tone, and tools used to emphasize the dedication of the individuals involved.
Published in 2013 by the Wallace Foundation, “Something to Say: Success Principles for Afterschool Art Programs from Urban Youth and other experts” is an expansive compilation of research into the lack of access, interest, and utilization of meaningful art programs amongst tweens and teens considered to be low income. Broken down into two chapters, the article explores elements such as stigma, parental values, safety concerns, youth opinions, and quality of art programs, as it relates to utilization of school art programs. However, the elements mentioned above are only a handful of the things captured and explored throughout the article. This information was found using various methods of research, but it seems as if focus
The chief complaint is used to help document symptoms to determine the location of symptoms, and type of symptoms (pain, paresthesia, numbness, and weakness). It will also help determine what symptoms are interfering with the patient's function the most to help determine a plan of care. It’s important under the history of the complaint to have an understanding of previous “flare-ups” to determine if the previous “flare-up” is related to their current condition. In the healthcare systems, new episodes of symptoms are sometimes tied to a previous condition. However, sometimes the new episode is due to a new condition. Taking a detailed history of the patient chief complaint can help avoid this, and determine the best form of treatment for the
This article mainly focuses on the means-tested government assistance for lower-middle class couples that are married. The essential points in the article explain who should be given the assistance and those that cannot apply for it. They are not discouraging low-middle class couples from getting married, but in fact, their income as a couple can go slightly over that cusp, subsequently not enabling them to not receive government assistance. Couples that have children and who are unmarried get great assistance if it is needed, “The expanding reach of the welfare state means that a substantial share of lower-middle-class couples with children receive such aid—and many of these couples receive more generous support if they are unmarried”,
The article, “Reality Check”, made me think about how much false information we are given. You can’t trust anyone, everyone lies. Even if they think the information is true, their source could be wrong. It’s almost impossible to find reliable facts in our world. I always go on twitter at night, and I’ll read the most unbelievable things on there and still listen to it just because it’s there. I’ll get heated over tweets that have fake information and make a fool of myself. I need to stop looking at twitter and maybe try the news instead. However, Achenbach states that sometimes even reliable sources like news shows give out bad information. So there really is no information show or website out there that you can trust. Even the government gets things wrong and/or lies to us. This article made me sad for the human race. Why do we feel the need to make up fake information and spread it. This is something that has happened a lot in my high school experience. Girls and guys get petty and decide to spread vicious rumors about others. However, the fact that other people believe it and continue to spread it around makes it even worst. “Reality Check” did make great points about false information, but it also confused me. I found this article very hard to follow and comprehend because it was so boring. Some parts in the article just
According to this article, the term the "Dark Ages" refers to the time period after the fall of Rome and before civilization was reborn. Although the Christian Church existed, it was not a very strong or unifying force. The real power belonged to barbarians, and brute force was used to keep law and a sense of order for the people living during this time. In terms of "government," this article explains that the concept of government during this era was very different from what we think of as government today, with its three branches and elected officials to ensure that citizens are treated fairly and justly. In the Dark Ages, "governing" meant groups of soldiers going out into people's homes to collect money, or "tributes." Then, as now, money was important in government. However, the means of collecting it was much more brutal and much less just.
INFORMATION: Vital signs are used to complete an accurate assessment of an individual’s health. Temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and pain are vital signs. To analyze vital signs a nurse must be able to interpret the data (Williams, 2018).
For this assignment I decided to analyze a sculpture that is currently standing on SIUE’s campus. The sculpture is located near Peck Hall, and can be described as a large iPhone that appears to have a cracked home screen. I decided to use this sculpture for a facet of reasons. The first reason being that it illustrates the issues humanity has with using technology. Another reason I decided to use this image is it what the first sculpture on campus that lead me to think critically about how it represents the culture on campus. The final reason behind my selection of this image is that this is one of the more popular sculptures on campus among my peers. Throughout this essay I will be explaining how the sculpture I chose relates to the reasons
Rajeswari and Sailaja (2014), stated that cadmium exposure is a development in the first twentieth century, and forward. In Japan in 1910, the Mitsui Mining and Smelting Company began discharging Cd (atomic number 48) into the Jinzugawa stream, as a byproduct of mining operations. Residents within the close region later consumed rice that contain Cd contaminated irrigation water. It contributed to some illness such as softening of the bones and nephrosis.
