Your learning journal entry must be a reflective statement that considers the following questions: 1. Describe what you did. This does not mean that you copy and paste from what you have posted or the assignments you have prepared. You need to describe what you did and how you did it. This week Test Driven Development (TDD) was defined, as were the advantages and disadvantages of TDD. Then a script was written to sort a file called unsorted_fruits.txt. While the assignment appeared simple enough, I had a difficult time with my directory location for my programming assignment. I spent more time trying to open the unsorted fruits text, than I did on the rest of the assignment. The incorporation of a list for loop is where I had my “file not found” error. This week I decided to write a pseudo code instead of the usual flowchart I include, to try a different approach. Once I realized I could download the txt file directly into the Python27 directory, everything flowed well. 2. …show more content…
Describe your reactions to what you did. The reading assignment was pretty much the same as the last few weeks, overwhelming at first, and a few sections had to be read over to fully understand them. However, this week there was something different, the video as an additional reference. The Utube video about sorting is what made me realize where I had to place the text file for the sorting fruits. This was a huge lightbulb going on in my head, the assignment suddenly clicked and made sense. Once again, I got excited that I had overcome another obstacle, uplifting my spirits, making me want to learn

I hope you had a great weekend! I wanted to go ahead and send you the reading assignments for the final two Lit Lab dates of Year 1, Days 6 & 7. In this session, we will look closely at these comprehension strategies: Schematic Connections, Questioning, Visualizing, and Inferring. You will need to bring and be familiar with the book, "Strategies that Work" by Harvey Goudvis. Also, please save your copy of Appendix Four which was given to you last week. We will use this again.
In this section, we reviewed and learned a lot of things that will help better prepare me in the future. We learned about different reading, writing, listening and speaking strategies. In U1A3 we learned about both listening and speaking strategies which I feel go hand in hand. This is because to be able to communicate effectively you need to be able to here exactly what the person is saying to respond back to them appropriately. In assignment U1A3 we watched a video titled Ricks Rants. In this assignment, I analyzed the video and made commentary based on how I felt he portrayed the learned speaking strategies. In assignment U1A3 you can see the process of this, and how my understanding of the speaking strategies helped me
