I believe that Excel can enhance the younger generations math learning skills. I think that as long as the basic math skills of calculating numbers are learned and mastered first, then Excel can be of a great benefit in the development of the critical thinking skills that are necessary to implement all of the different formulas. I believe that this kind of critical thinking that is required to realize how to formulate the data is a very important skill to develop. I do think that the younger generations and everyone else's calculating skills become a "little rusty" because of continually relying on Excel to do all of the calculating instead of doing the math out longhand, but this can occur even through the use of calculators. Rick , your post is very productive. We need also start asking the stakeholders regarding the network side which will feed the database also. Security should be a very important issue since most database deal with PI's and other sensitive information. Also, the kind of encryption the stakeholder will use is important. SSL and IPSEC could be great help to secure payments transactions with cards. I absolutely agree with your concern of the use of excel datasheet old solution which is obsoltete and is counterproductive.

Laduna, I really enjoyed reading your post. You gave a very good description of each question. I also think you did a great job on listing the steps that we use to code. It is very important that we go by the list that you listed in order to determine the correct code. I would hate to cause a billing error in the future all because I didn't go by the list. I definitely plan on keeping a copy to look at just to make sure I am coding correctly in the future. And I also liked how you explained the 4 conventions. Matthew is a conscientious, hard-working student. He has been very dedicated this year to learning each topic in the course especially programming. In this case, its important to look at every detail to find out if the construction of pyramids and cathedrals were similar or different. On one hand, there are the ancient Egyptian pyramids, construced under the authority of the pharoahs through the use of many laboring workers. On the other, there are gothic cathedrals, built over a long period of time, employing several construction methods. Through the analysis of historical accounts and evidence, it is apparent that the similarities between the Great Pyramids and gothic cathedrals greatly endorse the use of techonological systems as fuel for societies that are constantly improving.

Looking back from when I began my career, I can say I came a long way learning the concepts of understanding the expectations that arose from all my positions. In my first job just after graduating, I was appointed as a Business Accountant of a multinational company. Since then, I was caught in the myth that people who were in leadership positions or high ranking were leaders. Being in a junior position, I could have the least effect on any new ideas as my voice seems to have landed in deaf ears. I have seen how those businesses were not in line with their Missions and Values only to find later that many of the staff had left the company.
