1. Describe an example of your leadership experience in which you have positively influenced others, helped resolve disputes, or contributed to group efforts over time. I’ve been in Associated Student Body (ASB) for two years now and it has taught the essentials of being an active leader at my school. When you are an active leader at your school, you must commit to a lot of commodities that meet the standards of ASB. I commit myself by attending school everyday at 7pm and I also attended all the home games at my school to show school spirit. In my first year of ASB, I was Sports Commissioner for my first year in ASB, and I was in charge of all the sporting events and organizing which days ASB had to attend those events. I also took change in organizing senior night and providing special treats for the …show more content…
As a sports Commissioner I was looked upon for upcoming games and I also helped my student body get more active in school by attending more games. My goals was to help create awareness for my student body. As of right now, I am an At Large Commissioner and I don't really carry a specific job title. In this line of work, I had a range of exteriors throughout my ASB. I am more of a helping hand for all my fellow students in ASB, whether it's, Sports, Fine Arts, and Publicity Commissioners. Being in ASB has taught me a lot of new ideas and gave me a new perspective on being a leader. I learned how to deal with criticism from many of my fellow student body, regarding the dances and pep-rallies. As a leader I am suppose to acknowledge these complaints and negative feedback, in order to find a way to fix them. Not only for the person but the student body in general. My purpose in this job is to better my
Youth leadership and development is a huge part of agriculture education. It is one of the many things that FFA is known for. Leadership is important in all career areas and should be a part of every student’s education. As a teacher, I will strive to integrate leadership development in all of my classes.
In the schools and also the community we need more leaders. Being a freshman of Lower Richland High school, I want to see students demonstrating more leadership. Often, I see student afraid to say no to peer pressure from other students. I want to see students leading by example. We need more leaders in this community, and less followers. In this essay I will discuss characteristic that describe a good leader, and what I want to see change in my community. .
I am not sure this is a good one?! Or I have to reconsider my decision.
My leadership role as co-president of National Honor Society has affected me greatly in the two years I have been apart of the organization. The organization has taught and grown characteristics, such as leadership, cooperation, and determination, in myself, and in turn I have spread to others. The organization has also shown me the importance of volunteering, and how I can directly contribute to the bettering of my community through volunteering. During my time in the National Honor Society I have completed over 130 hours of community service. This year specifically I have been placed in charge of the recycling program and the road cleanup program. The recycling program consists of placing bins in each classroom for paper and plastic products,
Throughout my four years at the Bethel Park High School, I have represented myself as a strong leader. I never focused myself on just one aspect of leadership. To start, I have worked very hard to be considered as a captain of the cross country team, I currently hold the position of treasurer of the Journalism Club, and I am the head of a committee for the Principal Advisory Committee of Students. Being a leader in not something that I could learn from a textbook, it is a skill learned through my countless experiences. My current jobs that I hold give me great opportunities to prove my leadership skills. One of the most difficult is my referee job, which forces me to take the lead over coaches, players, and parents.
A leadership experience in what I positively influence others and helped resolve disputes was Link Crew. Link Crew is a program where we help incoming freshmen to high school and show them around school and help them out on anything they need like homework. When I was a link crew leader I helped many kids who had low grades. While I was in this program I noticed that many kids had low grades and didn't turn in work or even their homework I did my best and talked to them about how they will struggle so much to get there credits later on some kids listen and did all their work where they at least passed their classes with a D or C. I had people who I got to meet during this I communicated with many people who joined this program and helped many kids. Students who come to high school think it will be very easy like in middle school but it will get harder each year. Many times I was helping the students I feel like It influenced them to work harder and be better in school and help each other in some ways. Link Crew was such a good program that it was where others students helped other students. I showed many leadership experience by joining this program.
I am a member of Kappa Kappa Psi, a national band service fraternity, and I have had many ups and downs within the organization. Nearing the end of my freshman year I felt as if it was necessary to have some sort of leadership position. Naturally, I decided to run for a position and didn’t get it. I continued to apply for many positions and wasn’t able to get any of them. I reached a point where I felt as if the organization didn’t want me. However, without having to be in a leadership position, my first full year as an active member was spent building deeper bonds with the other members which allowed me to create a second family all of whom I care deeply for and wouldn’t trade that experience for anything. Being rejected from so many positions

The objective of the session was to acquaint participants with the state criminal justice system. I was always volunteering for class representative. I loved how I was helping the school and creating positivity for everyone else in the school. Although this may not compare to what ASB does for our school, I have experience that I could use that to influence my actions to produce an encouraging school tone. Another experience I have in leadership is in my camping group. I was in a YMCA dad-and-daughter camping program and for one of the years I was involved my father and I were in charge of the 300 person group. My job was to help the other girls and create entertaining activities for everyone to enjoy. I also planned many things such as; the general activity theme for each campout, how to make everyone feel welcomed and included, and the locations for the campsite. I also rewarded and identified good behavior and helped create new friendships with the people in our program. These leadership experiences are one of the reasons why I am a good fit for
Recently I had the opportunity to go to the National Student Leadership Congress (NSLC) in Washington D.C. to represent my Upward Bound program at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. While at the NSLC they split us up into groups of roughly eleven students from across the country. These groups are to work together and create a mock bill based on topic provided to them and present it in front of a mock congress. When they split us up and I got to meet the people in my group I just thought right away that this situation was not going to work. We all come from different parts of the country, our ideas are different, our political parties are conflicting, and our personalities are very dissimilar in several aspects. It would take a miracle
I was thrown into a leadership position. At the end of sophomore year, my friends asked me to join and take over Interact Club, a club dedicated in volunteering and fundraising money to donate to the less fortunate. To be quite honest, I had never heard of the club until that day. Including the officers, there were a total of six members, all seniors looking for someone to take over the club in hopes that it didn’t disband.
How have you grown as a leader? Be specific and try to use examples of your leadership in and
Discuss specific ways in which your leadership accomplishments and service activities have resulted in major change or lasting service to the university or to the community.
If i had a ticket and could go anywhere I wanted to go. I would go to the National Students Leadership Conference just because going to that would give me the great opportunity to connect and meet other students that have the same interest in the field I’m going to college to study. It would give me more of a chance to learn more about how different people got connected into engineering and maybe some are the same way I got connected. Which, I know a lot of people’s reasoning's will be different.
