One of the largest barriers to the management of asthma amongst underserved children, is access to a primary care physician (Greek, Kieckhefer, Kim, Joesch, & Baydar, 2006). Since asthma is a chronic disease; like most, it requires constant care, control and management of symptoms to prevent exacerbation of the disease. According to a study conducted by Moorman et al., between the years 2001-2003, minority children compared to white children, had a much greater chance of being treated in an emergency room rather than being treated by a primary care physician. The marked increase of emergency room visits led to regular hospitalized stays, higher mortality rates, and the use of short-acting medication opposed to a long-term systemic use of anti-inflammatory

Franklin D. Roosevelt (FDR) is one of the most influential presidents in history of the United States. In FDR’s 1941 speech, “On the War with Japan,” he discusses the necessity of going to war in Europe and what it means for America’s future. His leadership skills in combination with his speech causes society to go from an isolationist policy to being motivated to enter and win the war. Through the use of rhetoric, FDR is able to captivate the listeners and encourage them to actively participate in the war. Not only does he play on the emotions of the audience, he also appeals to their sense of patriotism and logic in order to persuade them to get involved in World War II.

In a report conducted by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, CDC, (2011) on statistics from National Health Interview survey CDC concluded that people with asthma need to have access to health care and proper medications which they need to use. If combined with self-management skills and evidence-based interventions, that modify the environment to reduce or eliminate risk factors such as allergens and irritants, most people with asthma can be symptom-free (CDC, 2011).
In American hospitals, both African Americans and women are receiving care that is substandard to the care that offered to males, primarily white males. It was found that African American children in the emergency room have a lower likelihood to receive pain medications when they have a case of appendicitis, which is a strong recommendation for the condition’s treatment. Even when the African American children were given medications for pain relief, they were often weaker medications such as ibuprofen as opposed to stronger opioids. Women who seek medical attention for chest pain are more likely to have their symptoms attributed to anxiety or panic attacks. Because of this, women are more likely to die from heart attacks because they don’t

Nurses always play a vital role in patient safety and care. In contrast with the past, today the nurses are well-informed, with a focus on coordinating patient care and the use of critical-thinking skills. Being a significant health care professional involved in the patient care, nurses have several responsibilities such as preventing medication errors, ensuring the patients attain accurate treatment and above all upholding the patient safety. While coming to case management nurses, they need to have deeper understanding of healthcare services and their application. In addition, they must have enhanced organizational talent and effective communication skills with the patients and with different sources on behalf of these patients.

Woo and Wynne (2012) define asthma as a chronic inflammatory disorder of the airways (Woo & Wynne, 2012). Asthma is a condition that cannot be cured, but its symptoms can be controlled (Mayo Clinic, 2014). Inhaled corticosteroids are known to be the most effective form of long-term management of persistent asthma (National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, 2013). Inhaled corticosteroids help keep asthma under control daily and make it less likely to have an asthma attack (Mayo Clinic, 2014). Beta adrenergic agonists are used as quick relief medication to treat acute asthma attacks, but regular long term use of beta adrenergic agonists are not as beneficial as inhaled corticosteroids (National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, 2013).

“You can't get away from yourself by moving from one place to another,” a quote written by Ernest Hemingway from the novel of discussion, The Sun Also Rises. Hemingway was quite the interesting man for his time; injured during the first World War, an avid bullfighting aficionado, even being close friends with F. Scott Fitzgerald. These tales and adventures of his young career become a retelling through the eyes of Jacob Barnes, whom Hemingway based himself off of, although this is not just any retelling. It’s one of love and ability, of otherness, and what it meant to be a man or woman of the time. Hemingway wanted people to see how one thing affects another, how manhood impacts love, for instance. Hemingway had many different views for love
