“The city was hidden by that awful cloud . . . boiling up, mushrooming, terrible and incredibly tall," said Colonel Paul Tibbets, pilot of the modified B-29 bomber that dropped the world’s first atomic bomb over Hiroshima. The bombings resulted in the death of thousands, including not only Japanese citizens, forces, and military but also American captive soldiers. In the midst of World War II the United States forced Japan to surrender by dropping bombs in the major cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. They released the second atomic bomb shortly after, in Nagasaki, Japan.

Starvation within the White Walls, 1 “(The hunger for love, belonging, and hope is much more difficult to remove than the hunger for bread)(Mother Teresa)”. Richard Wright, a young black boy fighting racial prejudice within the South, longs for love, hope, and freedom. The bars of the South’s unjust culture imprisons Richard’s weakening body; for hunger, a physical and mental void, overcomes his remaining essence. Hunger consumes Richard’s embodiment, as his former ravenous self depletes into a shell of the past. Within the classic novel Black Boy, hunger comes to symbolize the absence of love, innocence, and hope within young Richard’s life.
Where will Pony Boy go- foster home or stay with blood relatives? Pony Boy makes good grades in school, but he is a member of a gang. He is a greaser with long hair and bad behavior. "My hair longer than a lot of boys wear theirs, squared off and in back and long at the front and sides, but I am a greaser and most of my neighborhood rarely bothers to get a haircut.
Richard Wright was born after the Civil War but before the Civil Rights Movement. Blacks were no longer slaves but were still oppressed in the South. They were terrorized by the Ku Klux Klan and everyone around them, and had to constantly fear for their lives. Through the Civil Rights Movement, blacks fought for equality and an end to protest lynchings and the Jim Crow laws. Now, more than forty years after the Civil Rights Movement, things are not as dangerous for blacks but underlying remnants of racial discrimination still exists. It is a drastically different era from Wright's time and as he had many social comments back in his day about blacks in society, he would surely have something to write about today. If Wright were writing
Even though it is true that Elizabeth owned poppets when she was a girl, she cannot be condemned as a witch for simply possessing poppets, much less a poppet that has been brought to her by Mary Warren who admitted to making the poppet saying “I [Mary Warren] made it in the court” (75). If we are to see the owners of poppets as witches, then we would have to round up every woman and child who is in the possession of such poppets would we not? Or does such vulnerability to the devil’s tricks and the perversion of good come with age; thus making the only known person who has been wrongfully found guilty of this charge my wife, Elizabeth. I believe that the jury has become so apathetic with the reality of the current calamity that even the blatant truth cannot be seen by them.
The book “Lawn Boy” is written by Gary Paulsen and out of all his books that I have read, this one is my favorite. The story takes place in the narrator's neighborhood in which he mows lawns and starts his career in a very astonishing way.

Over the summer while in a pet shop I happened to see a hamster in one of the glass cages, on the cage it listed the hamster as being a “Teddy Bear” hamster. When I showed him to my mom she said if I were to take care of it, she would allow me to have it. So we bought him and all of the supplies that we would need at the pet store. We got him home and I was curious about what exactly a “Teddy Bear” hamster was so I researched hamsters and was able to figure out that the hamster was a male and I also came to realize that his information had been wrong and he was not even a “Teddy Bear” hamster also known as a Syrian hamster but a Campbell Dwarf hamster. During the summer my family has also gotten another animal, a new dog a beagle mix who we
