On March 21,2005,it announced another diet product, "Coca-Cola Zero”, sweetened partly with a blend of aspartame and acesulfame potassium.Recently Coca-Cola has begun to sell a new "healthy soda” Diet Coke with Vitamins B6, B12, Magnesium, Niacin and Zinc, marketed as "Diet Coke Plus”. In April 2007, in Canada, the name "Coca-Cola Classic" was changed back to "Coca-Cola”. The word "Classic” was removed because “New Coke” as no longer in production, eliminated the need to differentiate between the two. The formula remained unchanged. Production Original formula [pic] The Coca-Cola formula is The Coca-Cola Company's secret recipe for Coca-Cola. As a publicity, marketing and intellectual property protection strategy started by Robert W. Woodruff, the company presents the formula as a closely held trade secret known only to a few employees, mostly executives. Published versions say it contains sugar or high fructose corn syrup, caramel color, caffeine, phosphoric acid, coca extract, kola nut extract, lime extract, vanilla, and glycerin. The basic “cola” taste from Coca-Cola and competing cola drinks comes mainly from vanilla and cinnamon; distinctive tastes among various brands are the result of trace flavorings such as orange, lime and lemon and spices
The Coca-Cola Company is one of the largest soft drink corporations, manufacturers, marketers and retailers of non-alcoholic beverages based in Atlanta, USA. The company sells over 55 million beverages each day in more than 160 countries. The top consumers of Coca-Cola products by consumption per capita are Mexico, Chile, United States and Panama. The Coca-Cola Company has a 47% share of the global soft drinks market. The bestselling Coca-Cola product is “Coke”; a dark coloured soft drink based primarily on sugar, caffeine and cocoa, which is marketed as a refreshing beverage that provides an energy boost. The company has over 100 additional products, some of which are exclusive to certain countries. Some of the other popular and well known
Coca–Cola a leading manufacturer, distributor and marketer of soft drink products. Coca–Cola was not always the sugary syrup soft drink most people know today. As a matter of fact, before 1886 Coca-Cola was made with alcohol and cocaine. Concocted by Dr. John Pemberton a pharmacist in Atlanta Georgia Coca-Cola was originally named Pemberton’s French Wine Coca. Dr. Pemberton marketed the drink as a cure all for mental and physical disorders and was sold from a soda fountain at his local drug store. A step ahead of prohibition, Dr. Pemberton replace the wine in his formula with a sugary syrup. The cocaine portion of Coca-Cola was removed before 1914 when cocaine was deemed illegal in the United States of America. Coca-Cola as we know today still contains coca but the narcotic portion of cocaine, it is removed. Today, Coca-Cola has expanded to over 200+ countries. From concerts to sport venues to local restaurants you are more than likely to come across a Coca-Cola product, Coca-Cola has had such an impact on society that it is given credit for how we portray Santa Clause today. Other credits should also be given to Coca-Cola like an increase in diabetes and other diseases.
John Stith Pemberton, a pharmacist and “cash-strapped morphine addict,” created Coca-Cola in 1886. He used a French wine called Vin Mariani as his product to replicate. Coca-Cola was different because it was water-based, not wine-based, and included kola nut, caffeine, coca leaf extract, and sugar. It was originally sold as a medicine, a “brain tonic” that “Cures Morphine and Opium Habits and Desire for Intoxicants.” Later broke and ill from his stomach problems and morphine addiction, Pemberton sold the patent to Coca-Cola to Asa Candler, who later officially created The Coca-Cola Company.
Few name brands are as familiar, have generated as much loyalty and have penetrated as many far reaches of the globe as has Coca-Cola. The name, logo, image and product line all have achieved a level of universal appeal and commercial dominance unmatched in its industry. However, no firm is above the demand to remain creative, dynamic and forward-thinking. While Coca-Cola's 'classic' formula remains the single most preferred soft-drink in the world, the soft-drink industry is an incredibly competitive one. For Coke, this denotes a need to balance its classic image with that of an industry innovator. Maintaining this balance is not always easy, especially in light of the market imperatives created by its closest competitor, Pepsi Cola. This difficulty was perhaps best demonstrated during the rollout and product launch in 1992 of Coca-Cola's Tab Clear.
The history of Coca Cola began in 1886 when Dr. John S Pemberton, an Atlanta pharmacist created a tasty soft drink which could sell at soda fountains. Since then, Coca Cola grew to be a global brand and touched great heights. Today, it sells across 200 countries and is just as popular across all the markets and nations. The company today, owns or licenses and markets more than 500 non alcoholic beverage brands. The brand has only few major competitors in the global market. The daily servings of coca cola are estimated to be at 1.9 billion globally. (Coca-Colahellenic, n.d.) This is just another proof of the popularity of the brand which has a very large and diversified
The Coca Cola Company identified that no company was satisfying young men needs. Almost 10 years ago, Coke executives set out to change the by introducing Diet Coke and Diet Coke Plus, and in 2005 they launched a brand that defied the odds:
When it comes to targeting the current consumer, Coca-Cola finds that their product is most popular among the older crowd (marketing considers as “older” anyone over age 35). (Turner). Some of the most valuable brands in that particular demographic are Coca-Cola, Microsoft, GE, IBM, Starbucks and Apple (Turner). Part of the reason for Coke’s longevity is due to the company becoming, over the years, an icon of American History. Most members of the over-35 demographic possess fond memories of drinking
I would like also to mention that Coca Cola has also introduced several other drinks under the name of Coca Cola. The most common ones which we all know are Diet Coke (we will talk about it later)with others including Caffeine-Free Coca-Cola, Diet Coke Caffeine-Free, Coca-Cola Cherry, Coca-Cola Zero, Coca-Cola Vanilla, and special versions with lemon, lime or coffee, you can buy any you like.
Coca-Cola was founded in 1886 in Atlanta, Georgia. Coca Cola was the product of an experiment by a pharmacist from Atlanta, named Dr. John S. Pemberton. Although it was a very tasteful drink to everyone who sampled it, Coca-Cola consisted only of syrup and carbonated water. “Dr. Pemberton’s secret consisted of the use of African Kola Nut extract and coca leaves, which are both strong stimulants” (The Coca-Cola Company). Originally, his product was sold as a syrupy medicine that would help people feel better. One teaspoon had to be diluted in one glass of water. This gave him the idea to create something that tasted better than plain water. Dr. Pemberton’s bookkeeper and partner, Frank M. Robinson, named this famous drink (The Coca-Cola Company).
Coca Cola aim is to give the world refreshment ,they want to inspire and induce a smile of happiness .However the most important aim for Coca Cola is to stand out by building lasting value. In the 1886 there was only one product of Coca Cola. However because of changes of customers needs, wants and also because of their health condition, Coca Cola decided to introduce drinks that will meet customers needs, wants and also will suit to their health condition or lifestyle. Currently on the market Coca Cola has 3,800 of different products, that includes 1,100 of products with low and non calories. In total Coca Cola had 47 slangs in the past. The current one is “ Taste the feeling”. The total value of Coca Cola is 20 milliards of dollars that includes all the brands.
In 1888 Pemberton sold the rights of formula to four other businessmen JC Mayfield, AO Murphy, CO Mullahy and EH Bloodworth. Candler the current corporation of Coca Cola Company was then re-established by Candler in1892. On March 12, 1894 the Coca Cola was first time sold in bottles along with the first outdoor wall advertisement in Georgia.

Coca-Cola has been around for generations with the same iconic taste, logo and symbolism. Its brand has represented family and the memories of good times, celebrations and comfort of being with those we love. Unfortunately, the company has not made good marketing decisions in the recent past and has lost relevancy. The purpose of this essay is to assess the conditions that created Coca-Colas marketing problems, evaluate the future of healthy beverages and non-carb drink brand extensions, and provide recommendations to the management.
Another key ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. It is used for preserving, flavour and texture. Phosphorus is an important nutrient needed in your
