Athens is north of the Piraeus, a port city, where the Athenians enjoy the advantages of a sea town with the security of being on the slope of Mount Lycabettus. Athens is also located where they are ready to defend the passage from the region of Attica to the Peloponnese, a large southern peninsula home to the Spartans.

Athens is a college town. The University of Georgia is located here. The first buildings on the University of Georgia campus were made entirely out of logs. The town of Athens grew as lots near the college were being sold to raise money for additional construction.

Not as hot as Florida or Texas, Athens is a cool and relaxing place to live. Away from the busyness of Atlanta, Athens is peaceful and tranquil. Watching the leaves fall off the trees during the spring is incredibly beautiful.

Athens is small town of about 13,000 people according to 2016 U.S Census. Little Rock had a population around 200,000 in 2016. While the population of Athens has remained around the same, the population of Little Rock has increased by nearly 15,000 people in the last ten years. Little Rock grows tremendously year by year. It is the home of over 10 colleges and 2 universities.

The first oldest city in Georgia. Savannah was found by James Oglethorpe, and 144 European settlers on February 12, 1733. They sail from England on the Ann. These Settlers were the first settlers to step foot on Savannah. This city is named after Savannah River.

Savannah, Georgia was founded in 1733 by General James Edward Oglethorpe. He organized the city into grids and for that reason, “Savannah was dubbed America's First Planned City.” “General Sherman and his men marched through Savannah during the Civil War, and caused some catastrophic damages, however, they were so impressed by the city’s beauty that they spared it from complete destruction during the war. Savannah's Historic District was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1966.”

tlanta is a very culturally rich and is also full of important history. Atlanta's attractions are known the world over for its parks, sports teams, shopping, museums, and entertainment. Atlanta was founded on December 29, 1847 where two railroads meet. It was originally inhabited by Creek and Cherokee Indians.

Georgia was founded by James Oglethorpe in 1733. Also, Georgia was one of the 13 colonies and Georgia is home to 10.3 million residents. Georgia became a state on January 2, 1788.

Few of the Ancient Greek cities are known to most people in the modern world. The most well-known is the city of Athens. This city tends to be the first thing people think about Ancient Greece. It is also thought of as the heart of ancient Greece. What makes Athens so special?

Athens is the birthplace of democracy and has been called the cradle of western civilization. The polis of Athens included about 2500 square kilometers of territory. Surrounding poleis ranged somewhere in the 250 square kilometer region, making Athens the largest. The

Athens, Greece is located on the continent of Europe. Greece borders Albania, Macedonia, Bulgaria, and a small portion of Turkey. The closest major body of water to Greece is the Aegean Sea. Greece is a part of the region known as West Europe. Upon hearing about the place Athens, Greece, I remember that the place itself dates back to 3,000 BC, which makes it one of the oldest cities in the world. Athens also reminds me of democracy as Athens is the birthplace of democracy. Besides politics and geography, Athens is the Home of the various Gods ancient Greeks believed such as Olympus and Poseidon. Athens is also the origins of theaters introducing comedies and tragedies into plays.

All through history Athens has suffered but to say only Athens went through these rough periods would be unfair to the whole of Greece as the whole country has gone through turbulence.

ATHENS IS THE PLACE TO BE!! Athens is an independent city state in ancient greece that has many cultural values. Athens was formed of the Mycenaeans. The citystate of Athens is independent because seas and mountains separate it from the other city states in ancient greece. Athens is a well rounded city state that supports educations, military involvement, and government. . To begin with, Athens education was extremely important. Only boy citizens attended private schools and would learn about poetry, literature, math, and science from ages 6-17.This was needed in order to become a citizen and carry out duties. As stated “the ability to read and write was important to all Athenian people-, reading and writing was needed in order to be a citizen, and carry out their duty..” (Document A). This quote explains that the citystate of Athens felt that it was essential for men to be educated in order to be an important citizen within their culture. Also, as part as the Athenian boys took part in sports. Athenians believed that it was important to not only study subjects but also to have physical activity in order to have men with strong minds and bodies. Additionally girls did not receive the formal education that the boys got, they were educated at home by their mothers. Because women were not apart of the government in Athens, they were simply taught household duties. Only if they were part of a wealthy family they learned to read and write.

There are seven most remarkable structures of ancient times and I’m going to write about four out of the seven. The statue of Zeus, which was created in 432 B.C., by Phidius, the lighthouse Of Alexandria that was created by Sostratus in 290 B.C. and took 20 years to complete. The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus that was first created in 800 B.C. by Croesus and the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus that was built around 353 and 350 B.C. These are only four out of the seven wonders I will be writing about who commissioned and created each one of them. How they were built, where they were located, when was it constructed, why they were considered one of the seven wonders of the ancient world and what happened to them.
