If you had a choice, would you pick a career where injuries are less frequent and less severe along with a better salary or a career where injuries are frequent and sometimes severe, and salaries are not as good. Anyone in their right mind would choose the first option. This will now bring me to my topic, professional basketball is better than professional football. Professional basketball is more dominant than football in three critical areas, injuries sustained, salaries, and the number of years played in the sport.

I always wanted to be in the National Football League (NFL). I wanted people to come to every game and say hey this kid has been through a lot to get here. I love playing football because I love being aggressive and physical always something to do and work on. My dad is the one who got me into football and inspired me to join a tackle football team.

Differences, such as the two-minute warning, the knee-down rule, and over time, distinguish the professional from the collegiate player (See Table 1).

SMU became the University of the death penalty because they were cheating and using money to get top high school football athletes. That is against the rules of the NCAA for a short period of time they have gotten away with it but finally got caught when former football players came out and speak on the matter to the media. Overall, the players did not have to take the money but most did and it cost scholarships, being ban from bowl games, and no home games in 1987.

Have you ever wondered the difference between high school football and the NFL? Well there are a lot of different sequences to it. For example the NFL is played and a much higher level of intensity. While high school football is played for fun and competitively it also is trying to teach the basics too. While both still play with 11 men on the field the concept of the game is still the same too.

I do not see a big difference between a college football player and a NFL football player, they both play their hearts out on the field, have jerseys with their names or numbers on them sold online or in stores, thousands of fans come out to see both of them, have their games televised on national TV. The only difference is that the NFL player is getting pay millions and the college athlete is doing it for free. College athletes are finally getting attention on the fact that they are not paid. I believe that whether or not it is college or pro sports they deserve a salary. These players put their heart and soul on the field and get nothing in return. In the articles “Athletes New Day” by Paul Marx and “College Athletes Should Not Be Paid” by Warren Hartenstine, the reasons for college athletes to be paid are very evident. No matter the case, if the students move on to pro sports or not after college, they should be entitled to some pay for their contributions. College athletes deserve to be compensated for their playtime in these sports, sales of products with their name on it, and even compensation for their injuries.

Athletes are not given a choice, they are told what to do and how to do it; with no option to object. Now athletes have to go to college for at least one year or so depending on the sport they play. This in turn helps bring in the millions of dollars for the schools. So why can't the athletes that make this all possible receive some form of compensation?
