The founding of Georgia started with a man named James Oglethorpe who was a member of parliament and work in the reforming business. In 1730 James went to the King of England at that time and requested a royal charter for a new colony (). Also, James specified that the name of the colony would name Georgia to represent the King. After high consideration, the King granted and created the Trustees who will govern the new colony.

180 years ago, the city of Atlanta originated as the zero milepost for the Western and Atlantic Railroad. People soon settled around the zero milepost and donned it the settlement “Terminus.” In later years in was named Therville and then Marthasville before being officially named Atlanta on December 29th, 1847. The city continued to grow and thrive until it was destroyed in 1865 in the civil war by General Sherman during his famous “March to the Sea” (Wikipedia, 2016). After its destruction, the city was slowly rebuilt over the following years to eventually become the massive hub that it is today. The Final Region is Piedmont it is the second largest region and is the most populated region of the state. It contains half of Georgia’s population and Capital/largest city Atlanta. Most of Georgia’s peaches, and its soil is made up of “Georgia’s Red Clay”.
With its moderate winter climate and its southern charm and beauty, the state is a popular vacation area for many people, knowing it takes a while to drive. Although the trade and service supply, the majority of jobs in Georgia, manufacturing and agriculture remain important to the state’s economy. Beef Cattle, hogs, and milk are also important to Georgia. Cotton second among Georgia’s crops, followed by soybeans, and sweeten corn. Sweet potatoes are Georgia’s most and I mean most important vegetable. Granite is Georgia’s most important quarried stone. Lime stone and marble are also quarried in Georgia. Other important products include sand and gravel. Barite, bauxite, field par, kyannite, mica, and talc, are rare, mostly rare people just can’t go in a mine it, and they have to buy it, mostly people carry one of these gems for good luck. A lot of things can be seen at a lake, like people fishing, a lot of fishers are trying to catch a Rainbow Trout. Mostly if you came here you would see Lilly Pad’s in the lake. Savannah, Georgia was founded in 1733 by General James Edward Oglethorpe. He organized the city into grids and for that reason, “Savannah was dubbed America's First Planned City.” “General Sherman and his men marched through Savannah during the Civil War, and caused some catastrophic damages, however, they were so impressed by the city’s beauty that they spared it from complete destruction during the war. Savannah's Historic District was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1966.”

The city’s terminus was in 1837 with early inhabitants of creeks and cherokees and it’s early “days” were filled with mostly English, Scottish, Irish , but only a few Moravians and Jews. With a landscape of low hills and sedimentary rocks, Atlanta is positioned in Piedmont.

Some of Georgia's professional sports team includes the Atlanta Braves (baseball), Atlanta Hawks (basketball), and the Atlanta Falcons (football). The 1996 Summer Olympic Games were held in Atlanta. The Atlanta Braves now play in the new Olympic Stadium, where many Olympic events occurred.
