This document is from a lesson taught to a grade level 9 group for my Field Base I final lesson. Attatched is the lesson plan called A Modulation In Time. It is a lesson that focuses on music history, how to recognize the history of a piece by observing instruments, styles, and techniques, and how to apply it to other music.
Reflection: This artifact helps to prove my knowledge of this competency because, it required following the standards from the TEKS, NAFME, and NAME. All of these standards are included in the lesson to make it most effective for the students to learn. From this lesson I learned that there are requirements to be able to teach the students properly and effectively, and that it is easier to do so with the knowledge and use
I also saw a lot of flags, which inspired me to draw the flag of Ghana and digitally display it, so I went back to the drawing board. After I went out to the main exhibit, I stood at the wall waiting for my leaf. I decided to look around the rest of the 270 degree wall for my leaf. After five minutes of waiting, another visitor stood beside me searching for her leaf as well. After 10 minutes passed, I decided to accept that my leaf was not coming anytime soon and it was the last part of the exhibit that I had to experience anyway. I could tell there were still bugs in the system, so I thanked the guides and headed back to the L’ Enfant metro station to go home. I initially planned on going twice that week, but I think I saw everything I need to see the first time.
The Road to Brown tells the story of the millions of nameless blacks who faced devastating hardships caused by Jim Crow, which simply robbed them of the rights granted by the 14th and 15th Amendments. Under the "separate but equal" doctrine of the Supreme Court's 1896 Plessy v. Ferguson decision, black citizens were denied the right to vote, to attend white schools, to be buried in white cemeteries, etc. Those who objected were liable to be lynched. The era of Jim Crow provoked men such as, Charles Houston to fight back for those who were unable.
During my research, I came across a bill, S.Res.230 - A resolution designating September 25, 2015, as "National Lobster Day". The Subjects: S.Res.230 — 114th Congress (2015-2016). The bill was Introduced by Junior Sen. Angus King an Independent, on July 27th, 2015. Under Agriculture and Food, the policy area is Animal. Committee, Senate and Judiciary.
My artifact demonstrates my understanding of the competency by the in depth analysis over how I am going to meet the needs of each of my students learning styles, through my lesson. My artifact demonstrates my understanding of this competency by giving specific examples of how I plan to meet the needs of each students’ learning style. By addressing how I plan to work with students who have exceptionalities, I am showing that I understand not all students
Living in Idaho I have had the pleasure of being seen or shadowing optometrists who have attended the College of Optometry. Dr. Hopstad, a graduate and an Adjunct Clinical Professor at Pacific University College of Optometry spoke very highly of the program offered and how well they prepare their graduates to be successful in their own practices. While shadowing Dr. Hopstad it was impressive to watch his leadership, how he dealt with the diverse patients, and the expertise he held on all the ______ he attended to. Dr. _, whom I also shadowed, held the same professional expertise and abilities. As alumni they spoke highly about the program and the university sparking my interest to apply for acceptance. It was evident from my experiences and
I have shadowed three physicians in a clinical setting, which have been unique opportunities to experience life in a healthcare setting. Currently, I continue to shadow Dr. Philip Kum-Nji, a general pediatrician who takes his time to review patient charts with me and elaborates on medical findings of patients before seeing them. Moreover, I observe the way he interacts with his patients and family members as well as other healthcare personnel. Similarly, I have observed him perform medical procedures such as infant circumcisions. On the other hand, I had the opportunity to shadow Dr. Nehemiah Thrash, an internal medicine/hospitalist in July of 2015. Similarly, he went through patient charts and described to me the medical findings and conditions
For my community government participation, I will be going over a few democratic instances from a LTCC Board of Trustees meeting. These instances come from the meeting of Tuesday, September 26, 2017. To start off, the meeting included two examples of how the opinion of the people are heard at the board meetings. First, Marta Sternal, the International Student Program Coordinator, discussed to the board the update with ISP. More importantly, international students were able to answer questions about their experiences being in Tahoe. Each one had a special story and a testament to the ISP and how it was creating a positive impact in students lives. As Student Trustee, it is always very special for me to see students personally address the board that makes policies about the college. The direct communication is a great example of how the voice of the students are valued and included. This meeting was important for another reason, a reason that affects thousands of students without their citizenship living in America. The board approved standing with the California Community College Chancellor's Office to denounce the decision to end the DACA program. As Student Trustee, my position allows for me to bridge the gap between the students and the board, bringing the student voice into policy decisions for our local college. This was the first time being Trustee where I was able to reach out to students about this important decision, asking them for their opinion about this important decision. Since I am in this position, I have a glimpse of how a Trustee position functions in Congress. Of course, this is a very wide leap, comparing Student Trustee with a Senator, but I
The mission/vision of my company, TRICOR, is to prepare offenders for success after release (TRICOR, 2016). TRICOR was created as a public service and non-governmentally funded to provide the occupational and life skills training for Tennessee’s incarcerated population. TRICOR’s programming provides job training, program opportunities and transitional services that are designed to assist the offender population that is soon to be released back into society with successful reintegration.
Art, I was planning on discussing this with you this week. With you out tending to far more important issues, I am going to include Janene in the discussion right away as this is an issue that will likely need to be discussed at her level or above and we should get the discussion started sooner rather than later.
A good example recently I got a phone call from an insured trying to reach an adjuster from another department , our insured was very frustated trying to understand the amount paid out of his claim and he had wrong information on the amunt PIP paid out to his guest passenger, eventhough this was not my claim I tok care of the issue and I called different departments to gather the correct information for our insured, he was very satified and grateful because he had call many times to get an answer
I choose to do my discussion on “The Yellow Paper” because of the meaning and core values behind it. Being a feminist it was a story that I could relate to and it drew me in immediately. In the past woman’s opinions and ideas were highly disregarded. The ideally were married, stayed in the home to clean, cook, and taking care of their children. I feel like this piece strongly represented this era and that woman were highly aware of constraints put on them based off of their gender. I loved the idea that it was all about individual growth and that just because you have a partner does not mean you should stop that growth. The messages she portrayed in this short story are profound to not only her era but ours as well.
The method of scaling as it relates to the interpretation and establishing a strategic plan of attack in a high crime area to maximize results was introduced to me early in my career as a police officer. However, I did not know at the time that the concept of scaling was being utilized. In 2006 when I completed my probationary period, I was immediately assigned to high crime and high call volume area of South Memphis. We called the area “the box,” it was a six-block section of a community with most populated streets running north and south with the borders running east and west. There were some days I started and ended my shift in the same area averaging about nine to thirteen calls on any given day. I got assigned to a shift task force where
As a photography major, it was never clear to me on why I had to take a drawing class. I dreaded each class because of the known fact that I didn’t possess the skills to be a good drawer. When speaking to friends and family, I would always complain to them saying, “I’m going to fail this class. I have no idea why I have to take these drawing classes.” As the quarter went on and the more I learned about the different drawing techniques such as the use of lighting to create interesting shadows or the use of color to create a sense mood and emotion, I began to realize the parallels that drawing and photography have.
I didn’t know what to choose but I did know that either one of the choices would make a huge impact on my life, was I going to stay with, the same team or adventure out to a new one?
Before you even starting painting you have to decided what type of material you will be painting on. In modern days you will most likely land on paper as the material you choose to paint on. After choosing to paint on paper you should decide on what type of paint to use. The artist’s painting, I am looking at choose to uses watercolor paints on a watercolor paper. Apparently watercolor paper is made with linters or cotton rags unlike how printer paper is made. Cotton rags are supposedly stronger than wood fibers or linters, as a result the paper is relatively strong. An additional advantage to using cotton rages is it makes the paper flexible, therefor less likely to rip. If you use older pieces of cotton rages you would be recycling,
