What Traits Do We Find Admirable There is almost seven and a half billion people in the world, yet nobody is indistinguishable from one another. No one on the face of the earth shares an identical trait set with anybody anywhere in the world. Traits are what makes you, yourself and what make you different from the other seven and a half billion humans around the Earth. “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience but where he stands a times of challenge and controversy”-Martin Luther King JR Martin Luther King Junior is the first thing that pops into my mind, as it does most, when I hear the words “civil rights”. He is a man who fought racism and hatred without raising a fist. In our novel Scout and her family as well as Tom Robinson fight the hatred burned into others from past generations. Martin Luther king Jr stood beside his followers even though he received death threats and his house was even bombed which show the ultimate measure of himself was high. Atticus was threatened by Bob Ewell who spat tobacco in his face and stated that he’d get Atticus if it was the last thing he’d do. Atticus didn’t raise a fist, instead he said,”I wish Bob Ewell wouldn’t chew tobacco”(Lee 291). Atticus however, did not stand down knowing he would lose the trial of Tom Robinson, the accused rapist of Mayella Ewell.
