The difference between missional model of ministry and attractional model is one serves as a commission to go (mission) and the other serve as a commission to convince (attract), following God’s instruction on places and timing for His people. Moses is an example of a person being sent in Old Testament following the commands of God, (Exodus 3: 1-22, NASB). The disciples were sent out in the New Testament on a mission of God, (Lk. 14:23, NASB). Both illustrations identifies a mission and purpose in the act of obedience to God. Therefore, pastors should live out their calling in the community as a light of God’s word. At the same time, the gospel of Jesus Christ is powerful: Societies can be transformed.” As a result, the missional model can be suitable to the congregation, if it is learned and the congregation teaches the importance or significance of the missional model. Likewise, attractional model is fitting as well, depending upon the hunger and thirst a person may have about the truth of God demonstrated in others. In fact, a personal observation prefers both models to be the best, because both models can make an impact in the lives of the community. By the same token, both models will do well for the congregation, because it is the exaltation of Jesus Christ and God’s love for the world that make a difference in reaching God’s people.
