Aubrey began attending Forest Hill Collegiate Institute where he began his acting career. He attended two institutes before dropping out of high school although years later he graduated. At the age of fifteen, Aubrey's agent found him an acting job on the new hit series Degrassi: The Next Generation, as a character named Jimmy Brooks. By this point many might recognize Aubrey Drake Graham as the famous and talented rapper/ actor who goes by the name Drake. He starred as Jimmy Brooks, a teenage basketball player who became disabled after being shot by a fellow classmate. "My mother was very sick. We were very poor, like broke. After receiving small parts in some movies including Conviction, Ice Age: Continental Drift and Charlie Bernett, Drake then decided to follow his heart and pursue his musical career. On February 13, 2009 Drake released his third mixtape called So Far Gone that is said to be his introduction into the music industry. His two most famous songs on the mixtape were Best I Ever Had and Successful. On June 29, 2009 it was confirmed that Drake had signed a record deal with Young Money Entertainment. While preforming the song Best I Ever Had in Camden, New Jersey alongside Lil Wayne, Drake with a prior injured knee took a nasty spill on stage. He tore a ligament in his knee and went on the surgery table on September 8, 2009. A year later, on June 15, 2010 his album, Thank Me Later was released. The song Over on Thank Me Later hit number fourteen on the Billboard Hot 100. Also, the song received a nomination for the Best Rap Solo Performance at the 53rd Grammy Awards.
