My camp is Auschwitz - Birkenau one of the largest concentration camps where Jews were held captured. Inside the camp were four gas chambers. Each gas chamber used Zyklon B gas. Most people brought to this camp were Jews. Before entering the chamber they were ordered to undress. Once they finished the Nazis locked the doors and dropped in the gas. Also, when they died they burned the Jews. The bones were disintegrated and their ashes were spread out on the fields. One thing that stood out was that there was four gas chambers. In those four gas chamber various Jews died. The Nazis used Zyklon B gas in the chambers. The doors got locked and put in the gas. Once they were murdered the Nazis took away anything valuable that belong to the …show more content…
The ones over the age of forty and under the age of fifteen were sent to the gas chambers. The Nazis didn't care about the little kids dying. Jews older than 40 and younger than 15 had to work. Most of them got mistreated badly if they didn't do their job and were threatened by death. The Nazis locked the ones in the chamber and dropped in pellets of Zyklon b. Some Jews were trying to find a way out they tried all they could but couldn't. They scratched the wall trying to destroy something to at least breathe in some outside air instead of the gas. There was no one to help them even if the Jews outside working wanted to they couldn't because they'd be put to die as well. The only way of possibly surviving if have to fall first and then other people will fall because they're dying and you'll be at the bottom so you won't breathe in as much. When they died in the chamber the Nazis put the on a "car" afterwards they buried them. The Nazis had put them in awful places, some were buried and some burned in the crematoriums. The Jews that work working hard to see their friends or family die, and smell some horrible smell while the Jews were in the chambers. The Nazis had buried the Jews without any box or casket. After All, they had to unbury them and give them a proper
During the Holocaust Hitler used guns but in time he included gas chambers because they were more efficient and had a quicker impact on killing the Jews. The rivers and streams ran red with blood where the shooting had taken place. The living conditions for the Jews, were unbelievable, Germans began transporting Jews and others to the concentration camps and death camps in Poland. The first gassing was on the 17 march 1942, the death of the people inside the chambers occurred just after a few minutes as the result of internal suffocation caused by the gas. In order to ensure that no one remained alive, the gas chamber was not opened until half an hour had elapsed. The concentration camps provided an ideal location for executions, The concentration camps were
The Nazis kill and Harangue the prisoners causing this to make them depressed. The Jews are fed from cauldron that is somewhat filled with food. So the Jews have to ration their food. Prisoners would traffic with officers to buy food. The Jews who barely got fed where emaciated Then there are Hangings that are from gallowls.
The conditions that the Jews and other were put through were super horrible. They were forced into boxcars that didn’t have anything in them and they wondered where they were and where they were going. They stood in the boxcars for days with no food or water to keep them alive. (Joseph)(Source 3) Along their way to the concentration camps they were exposed to harsh weather. In the summer it was scorching hot and in the winter it was freezing cold. Since they were shoved amongst each other they suffered from suffocation. Along their journey many young and old died along the way (“The Holocaust”)(Source 2). Inside the boxcars there was no windows or anyway to breath. It was also very unsanitary because of the abundance of people in them and they didn’t have any water to at least wash themselves with. All they could do was stand there in the dark and wait (Joseph) (Source
One of the worst things that happened constantly in the camps did not just have to watch people die, or eve seeing the massive piles of dead bodies but the Germans made the Jews burn their fellow prisoners bodies in the crematoriums. The Jews were taken out of their homes and thrown into camps, while watching people die all around them if cruel and violent conditions as the Germans heartlessly treated them like animals.
Nine years after Dachau opened, the crematorium area was located beside the main camp. The old crematorium and the new crematorium was included. There was also a gas chamber, however there isn’t any credible evidence that the gas chamber in Barrack X was used to murder human beings. The gas chambers were actually for something called “selection”. Selection was when all of the Jews at the camp would go to the gas chambers to be evaluated. If a Jew was marked down as not strong enough to do work or too sick then they were sent to the Hartheim "euthanasia" killing center near Linz, Austria. Many Jewish people were killed this way. The crematoria are was also where the SS camp guards would kill prisoners; they would also kill the prisoners at the firing range. Another way that the Jewish People and prisoners were killed at Dachau was when German physicians would do medical experiment on the prisoners “including high-altitude experiments using a decompression chamber, malaria and tuberculosis experiments, hypothermia experiments, and experiments testing new medications. Prisoners were also forced to test methods of making seawater potable and of halting excessive bleeding” ("Dachau"). During this process there were hundreds of prisoners left dead, or with permanent disabilities. During World War II all of the Jews were forced to do work “Prisoners were forced to do this work, starting with the
For example, they sometimes would hand the prisoners a bar of soap so they would think that were actually going to take a shower. Usually in this case they were just led to the gas chambers. In these gas chambers, a form of Zyklon B was dropped in there, and once it made contact with air it changed to the gas form. After this, the bodies of the dead were taken to the crematoriums. Jewish prisoners were given the jobs of transferring the deceased bodies to the crematoriums. Every day many died. Almost one million people were killed in Auschwitz alone.
The people sent to the gas chambers were unaware of their fates; they were falsely informed that though they were to be placed in a camp, they had to be disinfected and washed first. The people were led to a red brick building bearing the letters "Baden", which is German for "Baths". There, they were forced to remove their clothes and were handed a towel before entering the supposed shower room. When the assemblage of victims were herded inside the chamber, the doors were locked and a very effective poison gas, Zyklon B (hydrogen cyanide), was released. After about 5 to 7 minutes, when the gas had finished its task, other prisoners were forced to remove the dead bodies, take any precious metals
How did everything start at the holocaust, with the Jews already in the camps and having their population decrease since the beginning? Would you like to know, how it all started what was the cause to make it necessary for the Jews to be treated very brutale ? Here there will be information from the concentration camp ”Dachau” one of many concentration camps that were to mistreat all the Jews and forced them to do what they were told. You will learn how the inmates at Dachau concentration camp were treated ,how the other camps were different in some ways but similar in others, and the most important how it all started.
The Jews and other people were killed by the Nazis at random times multiple times. When the Jews were killed, other Jews were forced to do the killed Jews work or the Jewish people would be punished. They had very bad lives at this time.
Inmates resembled skeletons and were so weak they were unable to move. The smell of burning bodies was ever present and piles of corpses were scattered around the camp. However, you could be “saved” from the crematoria to be used as test subjects to cruel experimentation and used as lab rats for any experiment the scientists wanted to conduct. Later in the war, extermination camps were built. These were specialized for the mass murder of Jews using Zyklon B to ensure a painful, long, and torturous death. The bodies would then be thrown into the fire and all clothes, teeth, and shoes would be sent to pursue the German war front. At max efficiency, 20,000 people would be killed in the gas chambers a day. As the red Army approached near to liberate the Jews in concentration and extermination camps, SS officers sent prisoners on a death march across hundreds of miles, where they ran with no food or water, no matter the weather, until they reached the closest camp. SS officers proceeded to blow up the camps to hide the genocide from the
There used to be places that were known for torture, forced labor, and murder. People were dragged out of their own homes to be brought there. These places were called concentration camps. They were the largest Nazi killing centers and they took the lives of over a million Jews. The camps are an important part of history that we will never forget.
People where put in gas chambers where they died then they where throwen into ovens where they where burned. There where also mobile killing sqauds after the German army left a area these people would go and kill any other people that survied. This list had different races on it like Jews, African Americans, and handy caped on it. Hitler would kill anyone that list even if they where a child. Hitler also thought that people with blonde hair and blue eyes where the best people. The Holocaust is the wrost thing in the world.
One last reason we study this is just because it is so absurd. This type of thing feels like it was made up in a movie. It is one of the most ridiculous things ever in the history of the world. They took Jews and put them in gas chambers or in a furnace.
They made us take off all of our clothes and they made me put on a uniform with a number on it. I did over hear some of the older kids talking about this camp called Auschwitz and that a lot of our parents went there and that this camp is a really bad place a lot of people die there. I really do hope my parents make it out of camp Auschwitz. The United States did not really help us at all because they were just rebuilding themselves from the depression.
Most women, children, older men and women or those that look unfit from the labor they had were sent to the left. While the others went to the right that looked fit for the hard labor jobs they had. All the belongs on the cars were sent back to germany for money. The ones that were sent to the left were about to get gassed but, none of them knew that. The victims were told to remove all clothes to go into a room which they looked like they were going to take a shower. Because the Germans put fake shower heads in so they would not know they were going to die. If the victims did know they were going to die they likely would have fought back. But little did they know when the door closed an officer would open a small opening and pore in Zyklon-B pellets. After everyone died in the chamber prisoners were assigned the
