After this was their first forbidden kiss.
After Equality 7-2521 fled into the Uncharted Forests and became free from the councils he finds out that Liberty 5-3000 had followed his footsteps to be with him. For the first time Liberty 5-3000 and Equality
7-2521 made love. After this the two start to reject morals and ethics of their old society and make their own. Later in their travels the Golden One and the Unconquered discover a house built in the Unmentionable times.
At this house they get new names to show their new found freedom.
Equality 7-2521?s new name was Prometheus, this is because Prometheus taught men to be gods. Liberty 5-3000?s new name was Gaea, this is because Gaea was the mother of rebirth and Liberty 5-3000 was the mother of a new society.
In Anthem love is a very important theme. The love between
Liberty 5-3000 and Equality 7-2521 was true, even though it is said ?what is not thought by all men cannot be true?(Anthem, Page 81). Their love brought them for a civilization where the word ?I? did not exist to a world of their own where they were free to do what they loved. Throughout their entire relationship their love was forbidden, yet Liberty 5-3000 and
Equality 7-2521 broke the law for their love.
Individuality was also a major theme in the novel Anthem.
Equality7-2521 showed his individuality in many ways. Early in Equality
7-2521?s life he was alienated because he was said
A noticable interesting topic about the story is the way Liberty acts. It seems Ayn Rand, the author, has something against women even though she is a woman herself. The meaning of this is, the women out there that act like girls and only care about fashion and themselves is what is being spoken of. The literary element that is being focased on deals with this issue. This essay will focas on the story "Anthem" written by Ayn Rand containing the literary element of character.
“Do as you please with us, but please do not send us away from you” (83). This quote from the character Liberty 5-3000 (Golden One, named by Equality 7-2521) in Ayn Rand’s novel Anthem, shows the reader that Liberty 5-3000 wanted nothing more than to be with Equality 7-2521 even if it takes away her freedom. The partnership between the two characters have a different relationship from other novels. Anthem, shows the reader that the character Liberty 5-3000 is a fierce and as independent as a person can be in their society; which is different because they live in a communist society (doesn’t allow independence). Liberty 5-3000 used to be almost like Equality but as the novel progresses the Golden One starts to obey Equality’s every demand and give herself to Equality to an extreme; which is not common in most relationships in novels.

There has always been a slight anxiety, a slight fear, of being alone or standing alone. Students rarely want to admit to having an answer different from the rest of their classmates; some people do not want to go somewhere and do something by themselves. Notably, with more shy or anxious people, they will often stick around someone they know, so they will not be alone in the crowd. Although that company might help them make it through those nerve-wracking moments, when is the right time for them to walk alone? Should a person ever walk alone? In Ayn Rand’s Anthem, Equality’s internal conflict of conformity versus individuality plays a role that Equality needs to overcome in order to complete their quest for freedom which helps create
All success starts with inner motivation. The most talented people that are living have an inner motivation that started their success story. The book “Anthem,” by Ayn Rand portrays the character Equality's main motivation which is individuality. Through his fearless discoveries he finally realizes the truth and that truth will set him free.
How could Ayn Rand’s Anthem have been altered if Equality and his society had been founded on Christianity? Throughout the story, beliefs and convictions were a significant factor in plot progressions. In addition, different doctrine also provided a huge contribution to character development. However, these various viewpoints established throughout the story, directly contrast with Biblical values. Looking closely at the development of society’s and Equality’s beliefs, a reader can easily distinguish his ideas from Christianity.
Imagine a world where everyone is equal; living a life that feels almost programmed. Humans may not realize the impact freedom, technology, and independence has on our daily lives; however, Anthem by Ayn Rand demonstrates the importance of these rights. The story portrays the life of a young man, Equality 7-2521, living in a society that is built on severe rules and laws. These laws are designed to eliminate individuality, resulting in an extremely controlled environment. Due to the laws, Equality 7-2521 rebels against the society. For example, Equality 7-2521 was given the job as a Street Sweeper but realized life was unchallenging for him, and was punished for going beyond his limitations. Equality 7-2521 understands that solitude is
Ayn Rand's Anthem shows us her view of our world united under what seems to be communist rule. For example their view of right and wrong; which Anthem portrays is a system of very strict rules which mainly make sure that everyone is involved in a collective role within the society in this system no one is considered an individual or that they can even think as an individual.
“My happiness is not the means to any end. It is the end. It is its own goal. It is its own purpose” (Rand, 95). Anthem is written by American author Ayn Rand about Equality 7-2521 on his quest for happiness. The novel is set in an unspecified time and place in the future. Years after human civilization has gone through a deconstruction in which all knowledge was lost and a new society established with no concept of the individual. “The novel describes the efforts of the main character, Equality 7-2521, to reestablish a sense of personal identity and restore the knowledge of the past by objective scientific inquiry. In doing so, he must face many dangers and privations” (Anthem). Anthem is a dairy of the Equality
Ayn Rand represents the world of Anthem, as all together, no individual exists. In Equality 7-2521 society it is a sin to do things that do not involve others, and the words he thinks and writes are for no one eyes to see or hear, but his own, It is the sin to think of yourself as an individual, to have an identity. Which is the fact of being who or what a person or thing is. Equality 7-2521 feels something missing from his life, from his vocabulary, he knows it’s wrong to think this way but he can’t help it.
Paragraph 1: As the opening line of Anthem says “It is a sin to write this’. The significance between this and the meaning of the novel is that is no freedom; individualism, in their society. Nobody is allowed to self-portray themselves. In Equality 7-2521’s society they are told what job they will have, what time they go to bed, what time to wake up, which person they will have an offspring with, and not to speak of the unmentionable times.
Rand Essay: Prompt 1 In 2007 to 2013 there was a major controversy over a very simple subject. This subject was an object that is a necessity in today’s society. The object created a new opportunity for humans because it allowed people to see in the dark. This object was none other than the light bulb.
There are many time where this word seems like an allegory. An Allegory is like a parallel universe where the other side is a deeper meaning to the real story. People depend on others to help them through rough times. But sometimes people need to get through things on their own. Not for one character in the novel Anthem, by Ayn Rand. Vision a lifestyle where one perceives it as a sin to comprehend data more efficiently than of one’s peers; a felony to long for things that others do not wish upon. Where floods of white tunics and austere minds obliterate the Earth. A colony built upon leaders who asphyxiate anyone from infatuation of any object or significant being; moreover, a world suffocating in collectivism. Through exasperated transcription, Anthem brings about such a community; nevertheless, a world of black and white. Ayn Rand does not overemphasize the effects of totalitarianism, but amplifies it so that it is more effortless for one to enlighten he or she’s notion on the particular proposal.
