Throughout the book The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, there are many differences between Baba and Ali and between Amir and Hassan. Although there are a lot of differences between them, there are also some similarities between their relationships. Their differences range from where they are from, to what they enjoy, to what they believe is the right thing to do. Even though they had these differences, they didn’t let them ruin their relationships until later on in their lives. In both cases, the relationships were very much separated by their ethnic differences. Baba and Amir were Pashtun and Ali and Hassan were Hazara. In Afghanistan, people of the Persian descent were defiantly of a higher social status, most of the time. In this case, Hassan and Ali were Baba and Amir’s servants. In spite of the fact that Baba and Ali had grown up together, Baba was the master of his household and Ali was his servant. Amir was better educated and was far wealthier than Hassan, obviously. Another difference between Amir and Hassan is the way they are treated by others. Amir was somewhat respected by other kids in the neighborhood, while Hassan was always the one to get bullied by the other kids, but Amir would never do anything to help his …show more content…

Baba was a very well educated man and was described as one of the most successful man in the city. Everyone knew he has very brave and all the things he did such as built the orphanage in the city. Ali was almost the opposite. He wasn’t as educated as Baba although he was a kind, caring man. The biggest thing was the difference in their success throughout their lives. Another difference is how they treated their sons. Baba knew what was best for Amir and wanted Amir to do what he thought was best, not what Amir wanted to do. When Amir told Baba he wanted to be a writer, Baba was very upset. Ali mostly cared about Hassan’s happiness and wasn’t as harsh as Baba was. Ali respect Baba very
