Wayan Aguda was born in Harbin province of China on August 1, 1068 to Wayan Helibo, a powerful military leader of the Wayan tribe near the current Ashi River region. He had a reputation of bravery among his tribe and in numerous occasions protected his tribe from the attacks by the Jurchens under command of the Liao Dynasty. He was later involved in wars against the rival Jurchens tribes and unified them under the Wayan leadership. In 1113, Aguda was crowned the leader of the Wayans succeeding Wuyashu. In the beginning there was only Baboduke. Baboduke lived in the Heavens alone for many centuries and very content with his situation. He would look over the horizon and picture his masterpiece; then Baboduke would sit back down on a cloud and laid to rest until the next day. After a long time Baboduke started to feel a loneliness in his heart and had no way of knowing how to fill it. Each time he would thing about his (thought about) masterpiece that loneliness only grew stronger. In a few days’ time Baboduke finally got up and began to create his masterpiece on what would be known as the first day.
A: When Buddha was enlightened, he was sitting under a huge tree. That tree was the Bodhi (enlightenment) tree which was located at Bodh Gaya in India. People believe that the Bodhi tree now growing there comes from the original tree. The Bodhi tree is known to have a very thick trunk and an expansive canopy of branches with leaves. Because the Bodhi Tree is associated with Buddha, the tree is protected and revered. Buddhists make journeys to Bodh Gaya and other places where Buddha may have taught beneath Bodhi branches. With Buddhism, the Bodhi tree spread to far places such as China and Japan, its purposeful planting marks the cultural landscape of many towns and villages.

In class, we have read and lectured about rituals and we reviewed the many types there are. From our RAT readings, we learned that there are five main types of rituals. This is based off of Anthony Wallace and his work. The five main types of rituals are technological, therapeutic or anti-therapeutic, idealogical, salvation, and revitalization. I believe that Grandfather Bakhye’s mortuary death ritual is a ideological ritual and could possibly be a salvation ritual too. An ideological ritual is a type of ritual that reinforces changes in a community to seek social control. A salvation ritual is a type of ritual that changes or alters a persons individual spiritual identity. I believe that it the his ritual is mainly an idealogical ritual
Bod Dilwoth is my mentor and it was amazing learning about his past. I didn’t know that he came from a humble family, his responses surprised me when I started asking him questions about his parents and his past. He was raised in a loving family that from the beginning make him develop a trust attachment. He was a single child, so he had all the attention and love not only from his parents, but also from his grandmother who at the time lived with them. The microsystem in which he was raised affected the way he interacted with others in the mesosystem. Bob was a typical adolescent at that time, and he followed gender roles expected from boys like they were expected to be part of sport teams, join the military, be involved in relationships and
