You can start babysitting by reaching out to family and friends and letting them know you are available. It may be difficult at first to sit for your first family, but once you get one under your belt, ask them if you can put them down as a reference. For example, during my sophomore year of high school I began to drop fliers at doorsteps for babysitting and although it took about four months for a family to contact me in the meantime I made sure to get CPR/first aid certified, as well as took a babysitting course. Today, I now babysit on a consistent basis for a handful of families. 2. In the Red Cross’s article titled “Survey Shows Parents Struggling to find Trusted Babysitters and Would Pay More for Well-Trained Teens” “About half (51 percent) of Americans rely on unpaid babysitters, and nearly a quarter (24 percent) pay between $6 and $10 an hour for someone to watch their children. Ten percent pay between $11 and $15 an hour; while four percent pay between $16 and $20 an hour, making babysitting a potentially lucrative option for qualified teenagers.” 3. My first day of babysitting wasn't my idea of a fun time. It totally changed my mind about getting up close and personal with kids while playing any sort of game or doing any activity. I started babysitting when i was 14 to make a little cash and it wasn't a big problem because i absolutely loved little kids. I babysat for my moms friend, Sarah. I've known her since i was just a toddler, so i grew up being very close to that family. Then she had a baby and i was so excited because i would have a new buddy, i was hoping for a girl but that didn't happen. So she had a little boy named Ben. He was adorable, and i have always loved little babies.. As he got a little older, Sarah needed a weekend babysitter so she came and talked to my mom
For many working families paid childcare is not an option, but a necessity. Paid childcare aids parents, especially mothers, in taking care of their children while they work. However, there is literature indicates that children in daycare who require individual attention might be developmentally affected as their needs are
Some people find babysitting difficult, in order to survive a night of babysitting you should use the following steps. First, you will need an abundance of energy. Children have tons of energy and they are always moving and you need to keep up with them. Next, you should keep the children busy. You should plan activities for the children to do such as painting, hide and go seek, and board games. If you do not plan any activities to keep the children busy they will create their own entertainment, which means more work for you.
For my informative speech, I wanted to pick a topic that I was familiar with but also wanted to know more about. I came to the conclusion to do my speech over child development. I thought it would be interesting because I am taking a class over child development and my future career is going to be early childhood education and elementary education. (Q.1.) The specific purpose of my speech was to teach my audience what child development is and the three components of child development. I think I did well teaching my audience child development because I clearly stated the three components, I established credibility, and made it relatable to my audience.
