"So, wait, let me get this straight-" About 15 minutes into seclusion she CALLED, not texted, her best friend to hear what she had to say about this horrible atrocity to her 'freedom' as an adult of this family. "-you're parents payed a guy to watch the house....with you in it...doesn't that technically means he's Babysitting YOU...and not the house?" OH FUCK, that made sense, what if he really was here to babysit her? "This is such bullshit." "You're telling me...this totally gets in the way of Mark and I pressuring you into throwing a wild party." "Oh, like the one you tried to get me to throw back in 7th grade...then in 12th when my parents were out of town on a date in the adjacent city?" "Yeah, big house, big party, what part of that …show more content…
Remember that, did you learn nothing from Bad Moms?" "Never saw it." There was a long pause on the other end of the line before she heard the other woman reply with a hushed toned "You're a sinner...." "HA-what does that make you, the girl with the Dragon Tattoo?" "It's a FUCKING Honey Badger and you know it. My original idea when I was 5 was to get a Unicorn with a shotgun...but the whiskey chose Honey Badger...Which I now presume to be my Spirit animal." Veronic tended to be very impulsive about her life decisions...yet most of the time those life decisions didn't seem to come back to haunt her later on. She was a perfect imperfect person who managed to dodge the bullet on a lot of close calls that could have ended with her license being revoked in High School or coming so close to landing on a cactus while hiking in the desert with her just as, if not more, adventurous boyfriend. "If you ever do get the time and Captain Kill-Joy is passed out or...somehow...goes mysteriously missing...We're going to Social Gather the FUCK out at your …show more content…
She presumed he'd brought his suitcase and amenities because...House Sitting meant you were going to stay more than a day, so here's to hoping they don't kill each other as she opened the door to see a man she hadn't expected to see...older than her...yes...buff...handsome by the standards of most woman who loved nothing more than a cock...but..other than that, he was actually kind of cute by her standards...At first she didn't say much of anything...other than her widened eyes...she was too shocked to say anything at first...confused...then-"uuuuuh......Hi?..I'm guessing you're that guy my Dad was raving

The last succession of frames in the chapter “The Ordinary Devoted Mother” contains a dizzying array of images, texts, and emotions. In previous frames the reader is able to easily flow through the novel reading left to right. However, these particular frames force the reader to read each frame several times in order to glean the full story.
“You must raise children yourself to understand your parents’ love.” This passage is a common proverb to express the challenge of understanding parents’ love and intentions. Similar to the proverb, Amy Tan illustrates the process of recognizing mother’s intention in her short story “Two Kinds.” The mother and daughter confront because of the mother’s anxiousness in finding her daughter’s prodigy. As time goes by, through one important scene in the story, the daughter becomes aware of her mother’s love and comes to terms with herself. The significant scene is when Jing-Mei’s mother offers her the piano for her thirtieth birthday. With all the conflicts she had with her mother and within herself, from the important scene, Jing-Mei realizes that she is transformed from a “pleading child” into a “perfect contented” adult.
The real reasons behind Marguerite and Bailey returning to California were that Momma was concerned for the children’s wellbeing and wanted to prevent things from escalating. Without outwardly expressing her emotions, Momma worries when Bailey explains the story of carrying a dead Negro man into a calaboose, where he was temporarily locked in. Bailey, too shocked to comprehend, could not see Momma’s anxiety as she frantically asked who the white man was that had smiled at the deceased man’s body. Before this event, Momma had shown no signs of wanting to leave the calming environment of Arkansas for the hustle and bustle of busy San Francisco, but as Bailey concluded his tale, Maya says that Momma had “pieced together the plans for
“No, I just wasn't expecting you to use my—I mean—our feelings for this dumb game.”
“I couldn’t just let you wander off from the group. I am the leader so it is my responsibility to make sure that you are safe from beginning to end.” responds Meriwether
On the other hand, the Archetypal approach does not work as well for me in the area of character development. Certainly, the Archetypal view on characters can offer us an unsatisfying overshadowing and takes us far beyond the aesthetic realms of the literary study. When doing this, it causes someone to seem less important when compared to someone else. This was shown when the narrator used a stereotype that involved grouping of certain individuals, "I could make you redhead, but redheads have a way of turning out pixie-ish, and that would wreck my plot.”(228) Through the view of Archetypal, the colour 'red' is considered to be thought of as fire, death and violent passion. The red connects to the Archetypal women of The Terrible Mother which
It was a hot August morning and we woke up at seven o’clock in the morning. I had a headache and felt something really hot next to me; Kade had a fever. I gave him some breakfast and put him into a cool bath to help try to bring his fever down. After the bath, I gave him some Tylenol and put him back in bed, where he slept for two hours. Once he woke up from his nap, I set him on the couch to watch some TV while I grabbed him another dose of Tylenol. I went into the kitchen to get him the Tylenol, while in there I asked Kade if he wanted some milk, I got no response, and I asked again still nothing. I had begun to become a little concerned. I went over to check on him and to see if he had fallen back asleep.
Dracula functions as a way to invert sexual identity of the novel through the use of vivid imagery. Through this Bram Stoker not only breaks the walls of gender barriers, but also perverts the image of an archetype mother to create a fear from the New Woman. He exposes failed motherhood through; three female vampires who sexually consume their child, Lucy who feeds off her children, and Count Dracula who taints the image of a mother perpetually to signify the dangers that a “New Woman” can bring to the society.
In this hilarious movie three women come together and give up their tedious burdens and high expectations. Jon Lucas and Scott Moore wrote a movie about what it is like when you are a mom and you go against your responsibilities. If you are in the mood for a good laugh then go see "Bad Moms". #BadMoms #JonLucas #ScottMoore
Personally, I believe that serving with Young Mom Marin has enriched my learning/understanding of this course content to some extent. I am able to connect the course contains to my community partner. While I have been serving Young Moms Marin, I have been able to witness some of the discourse that young moms face as teen parents, and how those moms have been trying to fight the discourse of who they are.
"Remember to ask me about 'Like a Wrecking Ball'. We can have fun with that."
“I agree with Miss Cal,” drawls Captain Ghastly. “If we make a no-hit list, the supers will think we’ve gone soft.”
“Being a parent is dirty and scary and beautiful and hard and miraculous and exhausting and thankless and joyful and frustrating all at once. It’s everything. (Confessions of a Scary Mommy, Gallery Books 2012).”
In today’s world, it’s easy to overlook the flaws of society, but this issue should never be overlooked. Mothers are treating their male sons differently from their female daughters. People are more concerned about their daughter’s waistline, and their son’s brain. These kind of things carry on throughout women’s lives. It’s easy to see women and men are treated differently even today, though most people think it’s wrong.
