According to DC Comics the fastest character man alive is supposed to be Barry Allen, but there is proof otherwise. In DC Comics there have been tests, races, and fights to prove that Godspeed is the fastest character of all. Let’s take a look at the evidence.
To start we need to look at the original speedster Jay Garrick. Jay was the first Flash and the only one to not wear a mask. In his original comic appearance he was the only Flash in existence but when DC Comics came out with Barry Allen he was sadly forgotten for a short time. After Barry started to gain popularity they had to find someway to work Jay back into the main story. It was eventually shown that he lived on an alternative world and that speedsters could cross back and forth to help each other (“Flash”). He is usually recognized by his signature metal winged helmet that has been around since the golden age of comics. Since it has been shown in the comics that he is slower than Barry Allen he is automatically out of the race.
Barry Allen is arguably the most widely known Flash. He is the first Flash to don the full red body suit and first to wear a mask. Before Barry became The Flash he was a forensic scientist who was always late. After a particle accelerator exploded and caused lightning to strike his lab Barry was sent into a coma

The only evidence of a link to the speed force is his accelerated muscle growth, which gives him super strength instead of speed. As for his twin sister Iris West II, well she has more potential than anyone else to be the fastest in the family. Thanks to her relation to Wally she is given a unique connection to the speed force. Since wally is directly connected to the speed force it makes Iris II a living embodiment of it. She has only recently taken up the role of Impulse but in the future she will most likely be seen as the fastest in the family and maybe the first woman to take the mantle of The Flash
6) and this immediately made me think of a TV series called The Flash. The Flash created by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, and David Nutter is a show about a man named Barry Allen. Barry’s mom (Nora Allen) was murdered when he was young, and Barry thought that he saw a man in a yellow suit flashing around and then he saw that man killed his mom. Barry then became a forensic scientist to find the “man in the yellow suit” and remove his father (Henry Allen) who was blamed for the crime from prison. One late night, Barry was struck by lightning and hit by a wave of dark matter at the same time which gives him the ability of super speed to save Central City from evil “metahumans” that were also created by this incident. The reason I think that this quote reminds me of The Flash is because part of the story of The Flash is that he is the impossible. He doesn’t know how, he just is. In the first episode of The Flash, you can hear a voice over of Barry say “To understand what I’m about to tell you, you need to do something first... you need to believe in the impossible… My whole life I've been running. Usually from
Barry has his own team when being the city vigilante, his friends each have their own natural abilities. His main team consist of Dr. Caitlin Snow, Cisco Ramon, Dr. Harrison Wells, each person helps the Flash by using their knowledge. For example, Dr. Snow is a bio-engineer, Cisco is a mechanical engineer, and Dr. Wells is a scientist. Dr. Snow helps Barry by studying his abilities and their impact on his body, she solves biological issues that can harm him. As a mechanical engineer, Cisco creates devices that help and protect the Flash, he has created the Flash’s suit which has incredible abilities. Dr. Wells is another member of the Flash’s team, he also study’s Barry’s abilities and focuses on how to improve them. The team helps Barry solve crime in the city by combining their abilities to find the safest and most efficient way for the Flash to defeat an enemy. With their reasoning the Flash not only protects his city, but also
The most well known Superheroes from the DC universe are probably Batman and Superman. Many times, hardcore DC comic book fans dispute over who the better superhero is. Many like Batman for his gadgets and others for his looks, while others like Superman for his powers and abilities. I would personally say that Superman is the more capable and better Superhero.
To start off we’ll begin with Campbell’s first stage of the Hero’s Journey. According to his theory, the story must begin where the hero was once normal. To define normal regarding the Flash, the Flash would have had to be someone who existed without any powers, living a regular citizens’ life, and oblivious of the adventures to come. So before Barry became known as the Flash, he was first known as Barry Allen. Barry valued family, justice, and the safety of everyone. He was a regular citizen who worked for Central City’s police department as a Police scientist, too. With the following being stated, we can conclude Barry was already a hero before his special powers. First, Barry is working to fight justice as an employee of Central City’s police department. Secondly, he enjoys fighting for justice in general. And lastly, considering Barry’s personality and values he isn’t selfish for power, disrespectful, dishonest, and greedy like most villain characters. However, according to Campbell’s Hero’s Journey process, Barry
Usually, when people think of the word ‘hero’, their mind conjures up several images of Superman, Batman, or Spiderman. Most people think of a hero as a steroid-riddled man in a tight suit and a cape, capable of flying, shooting lasers out of their eyes, or using some other kind of superhuman abilities. But a hero in a classic story is a completely different kind of archetype. Archetypal heroes are far from perfect – receiving supernatural help and making fatal flaws. A hero also embarks on an epic journey in which they face many issues, and are often honored after their death.
In Houston, Texas there was a kid named John, but by weeks passed his name eventually became was Superman. He got this name by wanted to save a lot of people in danger. It first started when he saw a lot of people being in danger, so he wanted to make a change and help people. He started doing that but after a while he couldn’t help everybody so he started to get worried and wanted to stop. But he didn’t stop and he got better at it, then not that much longer he was helping everybody and the city was a safer place.
He tells me, “ Remember this moment Barry. Remember the day where you traded the life of your mother for the rest of the world.” The rears then stop and I grew in range more every second. I get by up then try to pound him to the flour. The rush of anger flew through my vain, making forget all the wounds I have on my body and concentrating on fighting the reverse Flash. I couldn’t hold my own. He out sped me and pick me up by my forehead. “ You have to let me stop is Thawne, you’ll die too,” I say to him. But he responds, “ If it means destroying everything last bits of anything you ever loved, if it means watching your life burn at my very eyes, then my life is a small price to pay. Everything I have worked on has finally come to an end.” But then, I heard a sound of an arrow fire and it went threw Eobard neck, and he fell to the ground. There stood the Green arrow behind me and he took of his mask. He says quickly, “ That should be enough to get you to break the time barrier. I can’t disarmed the bomb but here,” he says while handing me a letter that says “Oliver”. “ What about you,” I say. “ Don’t worry about me. Just run away. Save those who have died. Right your wrongs. And keep your promise, save my
During Barry’s mission, Barry said “We rented a black Tidymobile with very dark windows, and we spent the day cruising the streets. When we saw people litter, we’d leap out, rush up to the perpetrators, pick up their litter, hand it back to them and say with deep but polite superhero voices, “Sir, you don’t want to litter DO YOU?””(Barry 326). This quote shows how Barry and his partner kept the streets safe in a funny way. As Barry became a superhero, Barry proclaimed “We assembled costumes consisting of the aforementioned red tights( size triple-extra large), plus red Superman-style boots, plus blue shorts and shirts with our superhero names professionally lettered on them, plus white gloves, plus capes made from garbage bags, plus utility belts from which were suspended feather dusters”(Barry 326). This quote shows how Barry and his partner made their outfits in a comedy way. Both of these situations use comic situation by Barry making situations funny instead of vague.
The world needs heroes. Weather they are fictional or not, people need something to look up to. The Flash not only is a hero, but an epic hero as well. He has a supernatural ability, he sacrifices himself for others, and usually wins a reward in the end. At least in the TV show, Barry Allen, The Flash, shows the traits of an epic hero.
The S.T.A.R labs experiment failed and resulting in explosion of Particle Accelerator, creating dark matter lightning storm that struck Barry and others converting them into meta-humans with special powers, Also it turns Barry into the fastest man alive. Many meta-humans wreaked havoc with their powers on Central City.
''Barry?'' He tried again, jumping on his feet, barely stopping one second to make sure Caitlin was really out for the count before closing the remaining distance with the Flash. Despite all of his anger toward the hero, he didn’t wished for his death, especially after all the things he said to him. How could he just ignored Barry, moved pass him without checking if he was ok? Now, the Flash had no visual sign he was even breathing. Unless it was just because of the darkness playing mind tricks.
The character that I saw as the most powerful and the character that was most looked up to by several people was Superman. He was obviously considered the most powerful being before Doctor Manhattan was introduced in Watchmen. Superman has several powers which include superhuman strength, x-ray vision and he is also able to fly. They have several differences such as Doctor Manhattan has lost most of his humanity and Superman is not even a human but he is trying to form a connection with his humanity. Although there is a part of the comic where Doctor Manhattan is looking into a mirror and says “ sometimes I look at myself and think how did things get so tangled up.” ( Moore and Gibbons 3:10) I think that the mistakes that people make is what makes us more human and this is the small piece of humanity that Doctor Manhattan still contains.
The main similarity they both poses is they can run at superhuman speeds. Although, one of them is slightly faster than the other their powers allow them to do similar things like running up buildings and across the water. They are both able to resist the air friction, reduced oxygen and kinetic impact they face when they run at super speeds. Another similarity both poses is their increased healing and fast metabolism, with their rapid healing factor they can take a hit which comes in hand for them in battle. Both of these heroes are also part of teams who help each other in battle. The Flash is in the Justice League consisting or Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Green Arrow and many others, and Quicksilver is in the Avengers who is made up primarily of Iron Man, Captain America, Hawkeye, and Black
Oliver vows that every person on his father’s list will wish he too had died on that island. Similar to the first episode of Arrow, The Flash has it’s first episode named Pilot as well. It begins with a flashback to when Barry Allen’s, the main character, mom is killed in an unexplainable event and his dad is convicted of her murder… which Barry believes to be untrue. Now, 14 years later, Barry works for Central City C.S.I and is quite good at his job. On one particular night a particle accelerator, created by Harrison Wells and was supposed to change the way everyone thought about physics, exploded releasing an unimaginable amount of dark energy. Lightning then struck Barry, which put him in a coma for nine months. After waking up, Barry began to notice certain things were slowing down… or so he thought. In reality, he was just moving unexplainably fast. When a man named Clyde Martin that can inexplicably control the weather starts terrorizing the city, Barry takes it upon himself to take him down. He speaks with Oliver Queen for advice, Barry knows Oliver is the Arrow, and Oliver tells him that he can inspire people the way he himself never could. Barry then takes on Clyde Martin head on and defeats him. The storylines between the two shows are similar because they both begin by showing what made the two heroes and what made them who they are stemmed from former accidents.
When you think of a superhero one normally thinks of Spiderman, Batman, or Superman, but there were superheroes long before these characters were created. First one must understand that the basis of this name is hero. What is a hero? A hero is a person who does something special or out of the ordinary in order to help others. It could also be someone who is admired for a characteristic about them, be it physical or mental. They are individuals that normal everyday people can look up to. This being the case, a superhero is nothing more then someone who is a hero, but not just that once and for that one person, but someone who helps many people, or leads them. As time went by the number of people who were true heroes diminished and just
