Mid Afternoon, Saturday I was in the field with Grampa collecting eggs to take over to Mr. Wilsons. All of a sudden we heard a gunshot. We weren’t surprised we knew it was Keet playing with his .22 rifle again. Then, we heard another shot. Grampa told me to take the eggs, me! I did not want to go over to Mr. Wilson’s at all. When I arrived at Mr. Wilson’s he was yelling at Keet and he took his rifle because his shots broke a window. Keet was crying like a baby. I left the eggs on the floor and ran, Lucky and Rufus the dogs chasing after me. Seconds later Keet burst out furious. I dove into the bushes to hide. Rufus sniffed out my hiding spot luckily Keet didn't see me. I went back home and found Kimi on the steps looking sad. To cheer her …show more content…
Azuki Bean, the runt of the litter is her favorite pup. The next day I went to play some baseball. While we were playing Billy suddenly fell silent listening to the sounds in the distance. Then I heard it too, it was like thunder in the distance. Then a plane flew over us from out of nowhere. It was flying way too low and the sound was ear-shattering. We started running like scattered ants. We climbed a tree to get a better view. We could see seawater being protruded into the air from explosions. We then realized that the smoke was real and that we were in danger. I tried to get the attention of the pilot in the dark plane, he was wearing a white cap. I dawned on me. Dark plane not silver like the americans, it wasn't navy no star, just a big, bright, blood-red sun on the side. Billy noticed it as well and I was in too much shock I couldn't move and ended up falling out of the tree scraping my chest and stomach. Grampa came out to the field with his Japanese flag waving it like a madman. He said “ They no bomb, we Japanee.” I grabbed him and we ran. We got back to my house, I screamed to Mama “ They are Japanese …show more content…

I’m sure you’ve been told persistence is key, and believe that you can do something, not that you can’t. Well I’m not going to show it to you, or tell you, I’m going to prove it to you. The summer after 4th grade year, our baseball team had the greatest summer ever. At the beginning of the season since their was so many kids at our age group that wanted to play, the adults in charge had to split it up into 3 teams. All 3 teams had fair or average seasons. My team had the best of the 3, but it wasn’t quite good enough. We had had, just enough success, not as much as we would have liked. We found ourselves barely sneaking into the tournament as the worst out of 8 seeded teams. We had to play against the undefeated Watertown team in the first round. We were told we had no chance to win, and we believed that too. The most I’ve ever been wrong in my life was saying, “we have no chance to beat them.”
I was walking off of the field with my teammates after two blowouts. In Steamboat on the second day. All of us were so excited to get to the pool and have some fun! Me and my baseball teammate that I was staying with meet each other there. We hurried downstairs put on our swimsuits and before you can blink we were in the water. When everybody was in the pool and before you knew it we were playing 500 with the football. After we did that for a couple of hours we went to got to the hot tub and that's when everything went bad. We had our older teammates brother which was 16. We saw some other kids in the hot tub. Then we went in and then Kelin the 16 year old said,” What are you guys here for?”
It was less than a second maybe half a second but it changed everything. I heard the ball hit against my bad with tons of power. Suddenly all I heard was the crowd cheering behind me and my team running up to me. I was dumbfounded did I really just hit a grand slam to win the World Series in the fourteenth inning? Tears rolled down my face as we all knew we just won the World Series for our team that hadn't won since 1908.
And home run, there it goes into the crowd. And the Cubs lose again! Now the League Team is heading to their next game in Alabama now, lets see if they will win again! Oh wow another home run this a new record! Now Michelle is up to the plate about ready to bat… and oh no he misses that one, and oh oh no he is down.
In late May 2015, a few friends of mine and my girlfriend made the decision to go to big festival of punk bands held inside of a shutdown high school that acts now as a performing arts center. Among these bands, there was a couple that I was beyond excited to see; Chunk, No Captain Chunk!, Real Friends, and most of all “Modern Baseball.” It was a full day festival of fun and excitement. In a hurry we bought tickets and began our wait for the day to finally come, trudging through the last few weeks of school.
Softball isn’t all smiles and winning. Sometimes things could almost get sweet. For instance, we were the first team to ever beat Gladstone. I remember it was the second game of the season and we were playing at the dome. I remember Zeke punching the air, “Hell yeah! That’s what I want to see!” and telling us we didn’t have to clean up the equipment because we had won. We went home on a high, so incredibly proud to be on that team.
As the crowd boos, you hear the New York Yankee commentator say “coming up to bat after a long year of suspension it’s the third basemen for the New York Yankees, Alex Rodriguez”. I grew up in awe watching great Yankee third basemen Alex Rodriguez. I remember playing baseball and trying to do everything he did, like how he chewed his gum, and how he wore his baseball socks. I would also imitate his batting stance as played. But all of a sudden the player I once looked up to tested positive for steroids.
During my grade first year in high school I was quite shy and only had friends that I had known from elementary school and through baseball academy. The year was going decent until just after my birthday in the spring, when I started to get random stomach pains. They started off as just an aching pain but slowly with time became more serious and painful, almost as if you were getting stabbed with a knife. As the pains got worse I started missing school in order to try and recover from what I thought at the time was just a stomach flu. After my first couple weeks off school my parents had a suspicion that maybe this was something worse than a stomach flu so they took me to go see a general practitioner. After the GP did some tests, she wasn’t quite sure what was wrong so she referred me to a local Pediatrician. Again, after seeing the pediatrician and having some tests done there was still no diagnosis for what could be causing the pain. The most plausible explanation was that I must have had bacteria in my intestines that isn’t usually supposed to be there, and because
It was the top of the seventh, and the Freeburg Rebels had a 1 run lead. After one of my teammates made the last out, I headed to the mound for the bottom of the last inning. While warming up, I could feel the scorching heat piercing my skin. As the first batter walked up to the plate, the umpire yelled out “Play Ball”! Despite this being one of the most important moments in my baseball career, I wasn’t nervous. I was locked in. On the first pitch, the catcher held up a 1, signaling for a fastball. I started my windup and continued to throw the pitch. The batter swung out of his shoes like he was trying to take one over the Green Monster at Fenway Park. Channeling my inner Bob Gibson, I threw the 2 filthiest breaking balls I’ve ever thrown
lukas k//After school I hung around with my friends until baseball practice at 4:30. until baseball practice. I still remember the day it all happened. It was my freshman year of high school and baseball was right around the corner. Playing varsity baseball as a freshman was almost impossible to do. As coach called me into his office, the anxiety set in. I knew the varsity team lacked a starting pitcher but i never would have thought i would have the opportunity to get pulled up to play that year.
One day, I was walking to the New Jersey middle school with my best friend Alex Collins. We were super excited for baseball to start. It was coming up in a couple of days. “I can't wait for tryouts Alex” I said. “Yea, but I hope John Gordon doesn't tryout. He is so annoying.” When they got to school they saw the poster for baseball tryouts.
High school is one of the biggest transitions in a person's early life. You go from being at the top in your school to the bottom. For me, it was very hard to adjust to this change. On my first day of high school, I walked into first period so nervous I thought I was going to get sick. Luckily, during the summer I had played baseball for Wahlert and had familiarized myself with the school. I was able to get a feel for the environment here before the school year started and meet many new friends. The hot summer days on the diamond taught me many lessons I could use the first day of school. Wahlert baseball gave me a feel for the amazing realm that high school is. It helped me overcome the hurdle of beginning high school.
My profession as a baseball player has been all about development since I was a little kid. After reading the article and chapters from the book I can see where Strengths Based Leadership has been used on me to promote growth at certain times in my career.
my name is curelesscrab360, and what are you passionate about? I'm passionate for baseball and video game but mostly baseball. Also I wish to be a professional baseball player when I grow up and be third basemen or pitcher. Because it is a lot of fun but it is going to be a lot of work. I hope I hit homers and strike out batters or catch the baseball in my glove and throw the baseball to first. But I just want to play baseball. That is all for today and I will see you later good bye!
